What? Teenagers confused

about mental disorder, who want to know more about them and motivation and inspiration to get through them.

When? When teens need help about their problems

Where? Anywhere, anytime

Why? The lack of knowledge and understanding of mental illnesses and

the need for motivation

It’s a place for teenagers who need motivation and support for mental illnesses and information about their disabilities

when they are confused and upset, it’s also a social platform so teenagers can get support and help each other out.

What is our app?

How can you receive simple support and information on mental illnesses without outside help or complex and

confusing websites and other media?

What is the core question we are addressing?

You feel like you need help with solving your problems, or discovering more about your mental health, but have no real

way to do this, and on-the-go.

Our team, Skytech, is developing a mobile app to help teenagers who require information and support on mental illnesses to make sure users have information in one place with motivational support and a social media portal to help

teenagers find support in one another.

Our solution combines many aspects that other apps have individually: a motivational app including different types of media for teens with mental disorders.

As a person coping with an eating disorder, I want to find support on an app so that I can help get over my illness.As a person coping with depression, I want to see happy media to improve my mood in general.As a person coping with anxiety due to bullying, I want to find more people suffering like me and make friends to help me feel less sad.As a person coping with self harming, I want motivational apps to help me without having to approach people that I may not be comfortable with.

What we’ve learnt: Our app requires lots of content to be uploaded regularly, which means lots of data will have to be stored

and processed. Data storage is often expensive and difficult to work out, however when it does work, it often makes for a great,

detailed app.

Feasibility:Our app does rely heavily on lots of data storage space. Because

our app would be an app that requires the Internet to use, we could link this in with a web-based server. It is feasible but we

would need lots of investment storage-wise. However most popular apps do require lots of web-based storage to work so we

think this is the best way forward for our app.

Our Business Model

We decided to make our business model more user friendly. With the needs of our customers we will need to have the app portable and free so anyone can get it if they need to.

However, we have limited certain features so to get the full experience of the app you must pay 69p for access.

We got 19 customer pledges, saying that they would buy our app.We didn’t have to change our plan to find customers to pay, but to make the app come together we decide to use a limited feature option.

Our Marketing Strategy

1. Twitter-We set up a twitter account and follow people that are connected to our app idea and have involvement in technology in general.-We start advertising and blogging about our app; ‘getting the word out there’.2. Charity Publication-We email some charities related to our cause (mental health) and ask them for support.-Hopefully, our case will succeed and we will have ads on the websites so people who go to the website for help will see our app and decided to get it. 3. Facebook publication-Similarly to twitter, we set up a Facebook account.-We blog, and eventually buy ad space to gain followers.
