Pyramids were built in many parts of the world: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria, Greece, Spain, China, North America, India,
Indonesia, Peru...
The most famous of them are the Egyptian pyramids.
The pyramids are the stone tombs of Egypt’s kings - the Pharaohs.
They were built by the Pharaoh Cheops thousand years ago.
Nowadays the Egyptian pyramids are one of the seven
wonders of the world.
There are more than 1000 pyramids in the Central
America.
There are more than 300 pyramids in China.
In 2005 the pyramidal construction and underground tunnels were found in Bosnia
and Herzegovina.
One of the largest pyramid is the Great Pyramid of Cholula, in the
Mexican state of Puebla.
