Morpheus Global University
PRESIDENT WELCOME : Dr. James A. Chapman
A unique aspect of Morpheus Global University’s role as one of the leading acknowledged leading private
and autonomous universities is its mandate to be a “first-class institution of higher education” offering an
educational experience “as the progress of the times may require.” Consistent with our presence in the
most of the world’s fastest-growing and most progressive metropolitan regions, MGU fulfills this mandate
by linking our values and traditions to the ever-evolving demands of modern times. Through that
commitment. While accustomed to receiving numerous international national accolades for our sustained
high performance, we at MGU constantly seek new ways to increase the quality and value of the MGU
Experience for our students. Quite simply, that is the nature and character of Morpheus Global University.
We celebrate a diverse community where over 40% of our students are native from the Underdeveloped
nations and seek to live in a nurturing sustainable Community with one another. With the recent addition
of four-year degrees, significant growth in the student body and a competitive study program, MGU is
creating an environment in which outstanding students are continually challenged and inspired to do their
best possible work.
It is in that spirit that we welcome public interest in all we do, and would look forward to having visitors
to these pages be a part of Morpheus Global University campus in the near future.
Best wishes,
Dr. James Chapman
Ma, PhD
President

About the University
HISTORY : Currently based in UK and US , Morpheus Global University has its humble beginning in
South Asia University which was started in Thailand and Malaysia in 1970. It all started on June 2 1970
as a small college offering English language training in Thailand. We began under the leadership of the
Members of Developing countries Education Association. As interest grew, these leaders called for a
meeting of the Association on February 1, 1974 . Representatives attending the meeting agreed that a
multifaceted college should be established. An initial proposal for the University was presented and
adopted at a subsequent meeting.
In June of 1974, the South Asia College Of Advance Management Studies and Research SACMS was
officially launched with the approval of the representatives of the Association. Classes were held initially
in the educational facilities of Baptist Church . Later the focus shifted on providing correspondence
courses at the minimum possible fees to the developing countries around the world. Our mission is to
offer international quality education at an affordable cost. We mostly compete with degree mills and
mediocre institutions in providing world class education. The University is broadly divided into the different
schools, Professional Departments and Research units.
Currently Morpheus global university is an amalgamation of 18 different education institutions wholly
owned by Group Morpheus at UK & Knowledge Axis at US and their directors

University Prayer
PRAYER:
Blessed are you, Creator of heaven and earth,
you made the world and offer it life.
Remember us as we begin our work,
that we work in harmony with others
May we do what is useful for our brothers and sisters,
and together build a world that is pleasing to you.
To us and all whom we meet today,
give your joy and peace.
Many people wonder when they pray if anyone is listening. Is prayer pointless because it
feels like nothing is happening? Nothing could be further from the truth. "Prayer is not a
preparation for work, it is work. Prayer is not a preparation for the battle, it is the battle.
Prayer is two fold: definite asking and definite waiting to receive. In today’s world religion
is seen as the main problem. We do not profess any religion or cult and students are free
to pray as they deem fit or otherwise. The main idea is to try to be a better human.

JOHN DEFES SCHOOL OF JURISPUDENCE
To me, the law is a helping profession. As a law school, we have a particular obligation to assure that the
education that is provided is designed to enhance our students' respect for all people, while assuring that
our students become skilled lawyers who can excel in the legal profession. John Defes provides you with
an unusual opportunity. First, we are an outstanding law school. Our curriculum is designed to ensure
that you will have the substantive knowledge, skills, and values essential to practice law in the twenty-
first century. We are extremely proud that we train lawyers—lawyers who practice in all areas of the
profession, in private firms and public agencies. We teach our students to have the skills to succeed in
whatever branch of our profession they select. Part of our tradition of education is encouraging students
to become agents for positive change in society. This is especially important in a law school.
We want our students to be decent people, to give back to our communities, and to be leaders in doing
good, both within and outside the profession. We are committed to encouraging our students upon
becoming lawyers to provide legal assistance to people who lack the resources to retain counsel and to
ensuring that all members of the profession are moral and ethical. We want to use law as an engine for
positive change, not as a device to cause anger and unhappiness. Even in the context of adversarial
relationships and an attorney's obligation to provide zealous representation to clients, lawyers must be
skilled and committed to resolving disputes while maintaining respect for opposing parties and counsel.
Law school must be an enriching experience, and part of that enrichment is meeting and learning with
people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religious traditions. We embrace a diverse student body
as being essential to a first-rate legal education and a superior law school experience.

BAHER AZMI SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCE
In bringing together the former Departments of Anthropology, Centre for Asian Studies, Geographical and
Environmental Studies and Social Inquiry, the School of Social Sciences provides a comprehensive
framework for people to understand, participate in and set priorities for themselves and their society. It
includes a diverse range of disciplines each of which contributes to this overall vision of the School:
Anthropology: understanding cultural difference
Asian Studies: understanding our region, its culture and languages
Geography: understanding the spatial context of society
Environmental Studies: understanding our sustainable future
Labour Studies: understanding the balance of work and family
Gender Studies: understanding gender differences and the struggles for gender equality
Our goal is to offer students an education that is comprehensive, integrated, and interdisciplinary; in
other words, an education that is not narrowly confined to conventional fields of specialization.
Through both teaching and research, the School of Social Sciences strives to analyze today's society and
to seek solutions to the various problems that it faces. To this end, we have developed a number of
unique courses that incorporate the new approach. The courses, focuses on a single theme and
incorporates the methods and viewpoints of various academic fields, such as political science, economics,
law, and commerce. Themes are chosen from contemporary social issues and are usually changed or
revised every four years.

EDWARD HOBBS SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND ARTS
Within the School of Humanities, students discover opportunities for personal and intellectual growth
most often associated with highly selective liberal arts colleges, while also enjoying the assets of a
comprehensive research university. Critical self-reflection, an essential part of that scholarship, can be
transformational for both students and the topics they study. The School of Humanities prepares students
to be global citizens equipped with the tools of analysis, expression and cultural understanding required
for leadership in today’s world. Our students not only master a body of knowledge, but they also develop
a set of portable skills needed for a lifetime-the ability to think critically, read deeply and communicate
effectively.
The heart of an Edward Hobbs education is the core curriculum largely made up of courses offered by the
different departments that make up the School of Humanities. The study of literature starts students on
their journey in the creative life. With a multicultural perspective, students deepen their understanding of
themselves and their world by reading literary texts—local and global, classical and contemporary.
Mission/Vision
The School of Humanities, through its six academic departments and one program, aims to provide
students with a liberal humanistic education. This liberal humanistic education draws from the rich
traditions of philosophy, faith, literature, language, art and culture. It is manifested through courses
designed for the holistic formation of students who are articulate and critical, imaginative and productive,
students who are rooted in their own culture, yet open to other cultures, proactive in the global
environment, and strongly committed to faith and justice.

BERNARD ROMBERG SCHOOL OF DIVINITY
We are a school of God and of the University. We believe that the advantages of theological education in
the midst of a university are considerable. We are also both confessional and interdenominational. We are
committed to the great principles of historic orthodoxy while at the same time open to students and
faculty from a wide variety of religious traditions. We frequently say that "above all else, we want our
students to be men and women of God."
A strong leadership studies component provides direction and guidance for students preparing for
ordained ministry within their denominational traditions, and for those interested, various public service
and not-for-profit agencies that provide ministry in communities. All students enroll in a multicultural
immersion course that provides an academic component and experiential learning in an urban, rural, or
international location. Students have opportunities for spiritual growth and deepening through a variety
of activities such as classes, chapel, small group sessions, retreat experiences, and spiritual formation
practices. Broad in its scope, the degree program encourages students to utilize the diverse academic
resources of the University through interdisciplinary learning.
We strive for : Evidence of sustained reflection on and participation in spiritual nurture, both individual
and communal; Development of skills, gifts, and arts of ministry appropriate for leadership in local
congregations and other settings. Our mission is to educate lay and ordained leaders for the religion and
for the world who serve and advance God's mission of justice, compassion, and reconciliation.
We are probably the only divinity school to profess the major religions of the world as a key
requirement of the degree program.

WHY DISTANCE EDUCATION
What is distance learning?
Distance learning with MGU takes place by correspondence. It is a form of education designed to be as
flexible as possible to meet the training needs and requirements of both you, as an individual, and the
organisation you represent.
Flexibility of place - means that study is not confined to any particular location. You can study
anywhere in the world because you are not required to meet your teachers face-to-face.
Flexibility of time - enables you to study at the most convenient times of the day or week, so you can
remain in your job or study full-time some other course.
Flexibility of content - means that you can devise your own programme of study based on the range of
modules available.
Flexibility of pace - allows you to control the rate at which you study, and to concentrate on particular
areas of interest.
In other words, distance learning with MGU gives you, the learner, more control over what you learn, and
where and how you learn it. This does not mean that our programmes are not structured. In fact, quite
the opposite is true. Learning takes place within the planned framework of modules. Each module
comprises a series of units which further define the focus of your study.
This approach will be of particular interest to you if you are unable to take time away from
your work to undertake a full-time residential course, or if you and your employer (or sponsor)
wishes to save on the cost of travelling and living at the any University or if you wish to gain an
additional qualification with your current studies.

CURRICULUM AIMS & VALIDITY
Today management education is widely recognised as the most appropriate educational qualification for
future senior managers and executives. In keeping with the ethos of MGU the University aims to provide
a program, which is both educationally sound and directly relevant to those areas of industry, commerce,
the professions and public service, which prospective students tend to enter. In developing the courses
MGU has recognised that students may want to improve their job opportunities, change career direction
or seek a fresh intellectual stimulus. Many are also looking more for an enhancement of general business
rather than specialist skills. Increasingly from the employer's perspective, organisations are seeking
future business leaders with improved 'softer' skills, such as good interpersonal skills with employees.
Businesses also want their employees to be exposed to a research-driven environment which is capable
of resolving a range of business issues. MGU can answer all these needs and this is enumerated in our
vision statement.
We are recognised by the private sector for employment purposes owing to our advance curriculum and
quality of study materials. Our students can also apply for Doctorate degrees (PhD) after completion of
our courses and also for other post graduate courses from other foreign universities all over the world
(USA, UK, Germany, South Africa etc) WITH WHOM WE HAVE TIE-UPS. For those students who wish to
work in foreign countries, Degrees and Transcripts are also apostle and certified by the Dept. of State, US
Govt.. It is thus advisable that students who wish to apply for further degrees or apply for govt. / Public
sector appointments check the requirements and ascertain them self the suitability before applying to the
courses. For further education abroad our students may also be entitled to not only transfer of credits
(exemption from subjects) but also discount in fees. All exams and other academic details are however
conducted by our University.

STUDENT SPEAK
I participated in the Master Of Business Program from February, 2006. I found this program very rewarding and enjoyable: it offered me a good opportunity to develop a great deal of knowledge about business culture and gain the practical work experience in a Canadian company.– STUDENT NUMBER : SDEF27898
I’ve learned a lot of things! At first I thought the course was only going to cover travelling but I’ve learned about the business side and about the career opportunities all over the world and the fact that I can go back to Gambia and get work in tourism. The tutors are great and there are good facilities such as the Library which is a really useful resource. STUDENT NUMBER : SRTG54698

The theory part of the Business Internship Program (BINT) permitted me to reinforce much of my business skills, such as being prepared for interviews, correspondence, meetings, telephone conversations, networking and updated knowledge about how the Canadian people are doing businesses. Apart from that, I found it very enriching to have had the opportunity of sharing with people from different countries. STUDENT NUMBER : SSFB14898
“We sponsored all our dealers for the Small business management course, we were apprehensive that they would be more assertive after undergoing the course. We are pleasantly surprised that not only they have become more understanding to our business process but they have also started working synergistically with us. Our market share has increased too because they have become more aggressive in the market place. Now we are sending their next generation to the course to cultivate the principles of management”. Employers contact us for sponsoring their employees or nominating their dependents for the courses. They may claim
deductions in taxes as per the prevalent laws. Many organisations have benefited from this initiative. The benefits that
the company accrues by working proactively in improving employee education rather then being a passive reimburser
of expense after the employee incurs the same to upgrade their education level or by sending them to workshops of
extremely short-term duration, this translates into Higher employee morale and loyalty. Lower employee turnover
Increased productivity
The executive programs are based on issues which students are likely to face in their working life such as thinking
strategically, gaining and keeping a competitive advantage, linking strategic and operating goals, implementing new
initiatives, understanding organizational behavior etc. The methodology of the similar as a course, but the
Organization has the option of customizing the modules to be undertaken based on the specific needs. So the
organization gets the advantage of a flexible program by choosing 5 elective modules amongst the modules of any of
the course. The project work and survey is held under the guidance of the person from within the organization, this
ensures confidentiality of the company’s intellectual property and also augments the knowledge pool. On full
sponsoring of minimum 15 students or part (50%) sponsoring of minimum 30 students the logo of the
company is inserted on the mark sheet / course transcript. The students may be sponsored for different
group of electives. Provisions exist to restrict students from appearing for exams if they leave the service of the
sponsoring organisation during the course duration of 1 year. This has been an effective tool for employee retention
programs for HR managers especially in industries where attrition rate is high amongst different employee levels. The
courses are also used to supplement the induction / up gradation programs Example: An employee with no relevant
qualification in the stores department can be sponsored for a course in Stores and logistics management etc.

A belief in the value of knowledge and learning is vitally important for modern managers. This leads to giving practical
and theoretical knowledge to shape values, beliefs and behaviors. This also leads to improved judgment and enabling
people to be objective in difficult situations.
The company may also present these programs to its customers / vendors which are much appreciated rather than
any tangible gift. As on date any gift given by the company to its customers / vendors will be in the form of Special
discount / bonus or reimbursement of freight / taxes or White goods, mementos, gold and precious metals etc. Foreign
travel etc. or Value addition benefits, Priority delivery etc. In all the above examples the gift is general repetitive, is not
of prolonged value and easily replicated by the competitor. When the customer / vendors or his child or somebody
dear to him gets a coveted qualification, he thankfully remembers the company for the rest of his life for this positive
intervention and also develops his own setup which is of direct interest to the organization.
This also results in:
•Improved customer loyalty and goodwill.
•Increased sales and market penetration.
This translates into increased revenue and profitability to the organization which far surpasses the investment made
and works out to be an excellent ROI.
