Fiber Posts

ParaPost Fiber PostsParaPost Fiber Posts are made of translucent fiber resin material that reflects the natural hues of the tooth and eliminates shadows through composite restorations at the gingival/crown interface.

Fast On-Command CementationThe translucent, light transmitting fiber resin material in ParaPost Fiber Lux and ParaPost Taper Lux posts allows them to be used with light-cured cements and core materials. This gives greater control over cement set time, and the convenience of being able to use dual- or self-cured materials.

Superior Head DesignThe rounded head design of the Fiber Posts reduces stress in the core material. Posts that have heads with sharp edges or angles create stress points in the core material that can lead to micro-fractures. Using computer analysis* and imaging, areas of stress concentrations can be predicted. Red indicates areas of greatest stress. Note the stress points at each sharp edge of the post with a non-rounded head design.

Comprehensive Range of SizesParaPost Fiber Lux comes in six sizes and ParaPost Taper Lux in four. This range of sizes allows a good match of post to canal size, minimizing the amount of dentin that needs to be removed. Each post is color coded for easy identification.

Superior StrengthThe high percentage of unidirectional fiber gives the ParaPost Fiber Lux and ParaPost Taper Lux posts excellent strength characteristics, without compromising flexibility.

Excellent RadiopacityThe radiopacity of the ParaPost Fiber Lux and ParaPost Taper Lux material allows the posts to be seen clearly on a radiograph.

ParaPost X System

ParaPost X SystemA complete family of posts for any clinical situation

State-of-the-art universal endodontic post system for all direct and casting techniquesStandardized system with seven sizes including two intermediate sizesNon-end cutting, depth-calibrated drills for precise canal preparation Diamond pattern design, multiple venting channels

ParaPost XP ParaPost XHStandard ParaPost flat head is ideal for multi-rooted core build-ups.

Patented, raised diamond-shape retention pattern provides: Resistance to rotation* Superior tensile retention Improved cement venting

Unique manufacturing technique provides: Increased resistance to oblique forces.

Available in titanium alloy or stainless steel.

Chamfered for ease of insertion.

Rounded edges of the head minimize stress points that could lead to core failure.

Undercut, slotted head securely locks on glass ionomer and composite core materials firmly and easily.

Patented, raised diamond-shape retention pattern (identical to ParaPost XP) provides maximum retention and venting of excess cement.

Parallel sides distribute functional stress equally along the entire length of the post.

More retentive head adds additional undercuts to facilitate “locking on” of glass-ionomer and composite core build-ups.

Two intermediate sizes, 4.5 and 5.5, permit fitting the post to the canal versus the canal to the post.

Chamfered for ease of insertion.

ParaPost XT ParaPost XP Casting Rounded edges of the head minimize stress points that could lead to core failure.

Undercut, slotted head securely locks-on glass-ionomer and composite core materials firmly and easily.

Broad, flat shoulder stop provides security against over-insertion and the build up of apical stress.

Patented, low-profile threads cut a clear path through the dentin, minimizing insertional stress. The interruptions permit venting of excess cement and dentin debris to relieve hydrostatic pressure.

Threads are located only in the stronger coronal section where root canal walls are thick. Apical trimming of post will not affect mechanical retention.

Passive, raised diamond-shape retention pattern in the apical section, where root canal walls are more sensitive to fracture, provides additional retention and greater resistance against rotation.

Parallel sides distribute functional stress equally along the entire length of the post.

Chamfered for ease of insertion.

Parallel-sided castings evenly distribute functional stress while eliminating the wedging effect of tapered cast posts.

All system components are color-coded to the drills, ensuring accurate matching of posts to drills.

Chamfered for each of insertion.

Step 1Prepare using the One-Office-Visit technique. Starting with the ParaPost X Drill that corresponds to the last Gates-Glidden or Peeso Drill used, gradually step up to the next larger drill until the pre-planned diameter and depth are achieved.

Step 2Use a corresponding plastic impression post to take the impression. This eliminates the need to fill the post space with impression material and ensures replication of the entire length of the post space without any undercuts.

ResultThe result is a predictable and precise fitting cast post and core which eliminates the need for adjustments and remakes.

Step 3The precision-fit of the titanium temporary post allows the temporary restoration to be placed without temporary cement on the post itself. This permits easy removal of the temporary restoration, eliminates time consuming removal of temporary cement from the post space and preserves the integrity of the post space preparation.

Step 4On the master model, the impression post is replaced with a corresponding burn-out post. This provides a precise post pattern with a retention pattern and venting channels. The entire length of the post space is replicated. This eliminates the need to fill the post space with wax and avoids breakage of the wax post/core build-up during removal.

The ParaPost XP Casting System ensures clinical success with a predictable and precise fitting cast post and core that eliminates the need for adjustments and remakes.

Optimal Handling PropertiesWith its creamy, smooth and non-slumping consistency, ParaCore is the ideal all-in-one material. Due to its thixotropic formulation, ParaCore is also eminently suitable for free-hand application. Due to its grindability, similar to natural dentin, there are no grooves or notches.

Superior SealingApplying ParaBond adhesive prior to cementation with ParaCore effectively seals and protects the restoration against marginal microleakage and minimizes the risk of postoperative complications. An independent in-vitro study1 compared the amount of microleakage present following cementation of all-ceramic crowns using different composite luting cements. Cross-sectioned human molars demonstrated significant differences in the amount of dye penetration (marginal microleakage) after thermal cycling.

No leakageLeakage from crown margin reaching axial wallLeakage on axial wall, but not occlusal surfaceLeakage as far as occlusal surfaceLeakage to mid point of occlusal surface

Optimal Bond InterfaceApplying ParaBond inside the root canal before post cementation creates an optimal dentin-cement-post bond interface to enhance retention of the post inside the root canal.

ParaCore simplifies the post and core restorative technique with its ability to be used as a 3-in-1 material for post cementation, core build-ups and crown & bridge cementation. ParaCore can also be used to cement inlays and onlays.

Using one material for cementation and core build-ups provides an optimal “monoblock bond interface” between the dentin-post-crown, resulting in one cohesive restoration with outstanding durability and strength.

“The ParaCore material matches closely in shade to dentin and is very strong. It also saves time when used as a cement and core build-up material. The use of an adhesive component insures a predictable bond to tooth structure. “Dr. James Braun
