Shoparoo is a free iPhone and An-droid app that turns pictures of your shopping receipts into dona-tions to the school or charity of your choice. Just take a moment to snap a quick picture of your receipt and voila, you've made an instant cash donation to the school or charity of your choice. Once you install the app onto your smart device make sure you disa-ble your GPS and type Moose-heart School in the box above the locally listed schools in your area. Points are awarded for products listed on your grocery receipts and that then is applied as a monetary donation to Mooseheart School. It is an easy and fun way to earn money. No saving coupons, clip-

ping coupons, etc. Take a photo of your receipt and that is it. Shoparoo does the rest. For more information go to www.shoparoo.com. The more participants the more money we can earn for Mooseheart.

Mooseheart Benefits from New Florida Group’s EventMooseheart Benefits from New Florida Group’s EventMooseheart Benefits from New Florida Group’s Event Largo Moose Riders 2205 was established in the first quarter of 2013. Our first year we focused mostly on supporting many of the charity events in our community and our local Moose Lodges. In 2014, we rallied to organize our own charitable event. Our first hosting was for the Mooseheart kids on Sunday March 2, 2014. We raffled off a 51” TV that was donated, along with plenty of raffle baskets thanks to all the Moose Riders from our Lodge. WOTM and Moose Riders also showed off their baking skills to include a bake sale for the event. Adrian Ray per-

formed for the crowd getting everyone danc-ing to country and southern rock. It was huge success and great turnout with over 200 people coming out to support the Kids. Our Lodge had the best day it’s had in a very long time and we can't thank every-one enough that participated. We are donating more than $880 to Mooseheart; we also are donating $150 to the Phil Serletic Cancer Benefit on March 30th. Phil is a long-time friend and has done a lot for the community. Our event also brought in 27 new members to Largo Moose #2205 and added 10 new members to our Moose Riders to increase our numbers to 35. We want to send a special thanks to the many other Lodges that came out and sup-ported our event; Riverview Moose Riders, North Hillsborough Moose Riders, Palm Harbor Eagle Riders and Seminole Eagle Riders. Your support is greatly appreciated. All in all it was a very productive day of fun and music and we are hoping to organize another event very soon.—Scott Knight, President Largo Moose Riders

On February 1st, the Moose Riders from Punta Gorda (FL) held a poker run for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Founda-tion). We had an awesome turnout of 40 riders for the cause. We rode from Punta Gorda Lodge to Wachula, Avon Park, Se-bring, Lake Placid, Arcadia, and back to Punta Gorda for a grand total of 10,085 miles. We sold raffle tickets and collected donations for JDRF. When all was said and done, we collected $729 for the day. The winners of the Poker hands donated back their winnings to the cause and Punta Gorda Riders decided to make the final donation a nice round figure of $1,000. On February 15th, the Punta Gorda Lodge held the party at the Lodge. There were raffles, auctions and plenty of food for all. There were representatives from JDRF at the event and fun was had by all. The check

that was given to JDRF after these events totaled $5,785.00. The Moose Riders re-ceived a certificate of appreciation from the Lodge for their participation. --Kim Small, Punta Gorda Moose Riders

Hello from Mandarin 42 Moose Rider Activity Group in Jackson-ville, Florida. We ROCKED the Lodge RED-NECK STYLE with our Annual Biker Ball on March 22nd and it was a BLAST!! Our theme this year was the “Redneck Yacht Club Social”!!! And we “painted the town RED-NECK” style with rid-ers wearing their finest “redneck” outfits. We hope that our neigh-bors from Halifax River Lodge, (S. Daytona) Riverview Lodge, Palatka, Lauderdale Lakes and Yulee and others who were able to make it had as good a time as we promised. The jail was a lot of fun (Agnes enjoyed her time in there with you), as well as our games…Stroke your Ego, Spam Carving Contest. We want to give a big shout out to all of you that come and participated in this event; that makes it so much fun!!! Let’s do it again next year. On Sunday our Riders and guest Riders attended the Florida Days Picnic at Moose-haven. We had a great turnout from our and other lodges. Food was super as usual. Moosehaven is a MUST go place next time you’re in Jacksonville. And a big thank you to the WOTM and LOOM of Mandarin for a great breakfast and their help with our Biker Ball. What a fun weekend!!!! Members attended the FBMA Moose Rid-er Spring Session at the Riverview Lodge January 18th and a great time was had by all. And while we were not able to attend, we did make a donation to the Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics…maybe next year. The Moose Riders also attended a Chap-ter meeting of BACA (Bikers against Child Abuse) in February. Talk about commit-ment. We made a contribution to support their worthy cause. Several members attend-ed the FBMA State MR Spring Getaway March 14-16 in Cocoa Beach and everyone had a lot of fun! And most important raised a lot of money for our charities. Thank you to our Moose Riders for their support and help to help make a FUN weekend.

Both riders and Lodge members attended the Moose Legion Celebration in Macclenny where past FBMA Moose Riders Vice Chair-man, Charlie Titheridge. was installed as President of Seminole Moose Legion 81. On March 29th we participated in the WOTM 4th Annual Golf Tournament. We sponsored a team and they had a great time. The WOTM dinner held afterward was great. Hope to do it again next year. We’re moving right along with our new fundraiser Bingo every Wednesday. We hope so see it grow. We now have a for real Bingo machine that makes it a lot easier and fun for our players. Stayed tuned, we keep on ROLLING out the FUN. Thanks to all!!! RIDE SAFE: Linda Rodgers, Mandarin #42 Moose Riders President

—A few words from a Moose Rider Donor Diva

There’s No Place Like Home, RidersThere’s No Place Like Home, RidersThere’s No Place Like Home, Riders This winter I was honored to be asked by the Flor-ida WOTM Moose Charities Chairman to represent Moose Charities as a Moose Rider Mooseheart Booster Chairman and Donor Diva here in Florida. Why are we DIVAs? It actually is an acronym for Dedicated, Imaginative, VISIBLE and Approach-able. We are out there promoting support for our two facilities, Mooseheart and Moosehaven by way of Moose Charities and its various programs. Moose Charities oversees fundraising for Moose-heart and Moosehaven - charities close to every Moose Rider’s heart. As Moose Riders we already support the ‘Heart and the ‘Haven through pro-grams like LIFE, our graduating students laptop program, the Moose Ride 4 Kids and the Blessing of the Bikes. In Florida, our Moose Riders support projects for Moosehaven, most recently supplying benches for the newly constructed Katherine Smith Center for our senior residents suffering from Alz-heimer’s. We also sponsored a trip to an Interna-tional Convention in Tampa for the Mooseheart Drum Corps, and many of us travel to Mooseheart in May to take part in the Blessing of the Bikes, a portion of the funds raised going to Mooseheart. We work locally to hold fundraisers for the Ride 4 Kids Day and challenge all of our Riders’ groups to win the Mark “Tiny” Metcalf Big Heart Award annu-ally.by raising the most funds over the summer. We support the endowment fund, never missing an opportunity to pass the hat at meetings, rallies, and events. We do a lot, that’s for sure, but upon be-coming a “Donor Diva”, I became aware of the ever present and ongoing needs of Mooseheart and Moosehaven, that just can’t be ignored. We love to hold events and are extremely suc-cessful at raising money as individuals and as groups. Perhaps we could focus a bit more on Mooseheart and Moosehaven. There are many ways we can help sustain these homes for our youth and our seniors. As individuals we can be-come “boosters” and these donations are for PRE-SENT needs of Mooseheart, which right now in-clude a massive and expensive school renovation. There are, as always, different levels for donations. Perhaps there is a level at which you would be comfortable. The “Donors Circle” focuses on the FUTURE by way of the Endowment Fund. Every dollar counts, but perhaps you are fortunate enough to afford giving a little bit extra, in your

name. Donations are tax deductible, and your donations are linked to your member record, tracked and recognized when you reach higher levels of donation. Not for all of us, but certainly something to seriously think about. Check out the Moose Charities site at: http://www.moosecharities.org/ Fraternal fundraising is yet another way to show our support through special projects. Our Lodges are called upon to help out, but as Moose Riders we have another opportunity to show what we can do in addition to what our Lodge does. There are currently 2 special projects going on here in Flori-da: the “IN2L” (It’s Never too Late) system, a hard-ware/software package for our Seniors to help memory training and balance training during reha-bilitation. The other is a 24-passenger bus for Moosehaven residents. The bottom line for these projects is $98,000. Check with your State Associ-ation—I’m sure there’s some project you can help with. Moose Riders can donate a pretty big chunk of cash to reduce these kinds of needs—especially if we work together nationwide. Each of you has worked to help out locally for special charities, many involving veterans or chil-dren. I applaud you all for your community service and passion. That shouldn’t go away. All I am saying is, give some thought to helping out a little more at “home”—Moose International. There will always be a need, whether it be in the PRESENT or in the FUTURE. Think about being a Booster or perhaps joining the Donors Circle with a donation. Look for the Moose Charities booths set up at Conventions and buy their raffle tickets or merchandise. As Moose Rider Activity Groups, consider a special project that your State Associa-tion is involved with. Check wish lists on the Moose Charities site (http://www.moosecharities.org/) for projects to support. Continue passing the Endowment hat and support our LIFE program. Most of all keep your hearts wide open and do what you do with all the fun, enthusiasm and hard work that you have in the past. Moose Riders Rock.—Joan Fedora

Mooseheart Ramblers Bring Home the Trophy Mooseheart Ramblers Bring Home the Trophy Mooseheart Ramblers Bring Home the Trophy

“Peoria, IL, Mar. 15 – Many roads came to an end on Satur-day when Mooseheart lifted the IHSA Class 1A championship tro-phy.

For the 2013-14 Ramblers boys basketball team, the 63-47 victory over Heyworth ended a journey that started in November, not far from Peoria, at the Canton Thanksgiving tournament. The team's pathway ended with a 29-3 record.

For three players on the squad, Mangisto Deng, Makur Puou and Akin Nyang, the contest ended their three year journey from South Sudan, a pathway that moved through legal courtrooms and basketball courts and finally center court of the Peoria Civic Center.

Mooseheart seniors saw their high school basketball journeys culminate. JJ Odunsi and Peter Kurowski graduate in May, along with Deng and Puou.

Finally, there was the campus' pathway that began in 1913 when it was founded as a place for chil-dren in-need to receive a second chance. In its 101st year of exist-ence, Mooseheart claimed its first IHSA team title.

"It's a once in a lifetime feeling," Moose-heart sophomore guard Freddie Okito said. "There's probably no other feeling like this."

The Ramblers hoisted the trophy, celebrat-ed amongst themselves, then turned to their fans and exchanged handshakes and hugs with campus staff, Mooseheart gradu-ates and their fellow students from the school's elementary school, middle school and high school.

"I don't know how to explain it," Deng said. "It's once in a life thing."

There was also a strong contingent of Moose members in the crowd, Since that 1913 founding, the Moose fraternity has made life possible for all boys and girls who have come through Mooseheart's gates.

"I've said all along that it's great for the Mooseheart community and it's great for the fraternity," Mooseheart coach Ron Ahrens said. "We've got a million fans and I guar-antee there were 100,000 or so watching it live streaming on the Internet."‘—Source: Mooseheart website, author unknown

At a Lodge event, the Buena Park Moose Riders heard about a local school that just had more budget cuts and teachers that did not have all the supplies they needed to provide the best education to their students. This was no ordinary school: this was Hope School, a special ed-ucation school that teach-es 245 students in grades 7-12. Hope School enhances students' knowledge and skills by providing practi-cal and challenging aca-demic, social and vocation-al experiences at their de-velopmental level, thus enabling students to attain

their highest potential. In collaboration with families, professionals and community agen-cies, Hope School provides information to families and develops collective systems of support to assist students to become more self-sufficient within their total environment and adult life. The Moose Riders simply asked for a list of what the teachers needed and went to work. It was through several successful fundraising efforts throughout 2013 that we were able to provide most of the items on the teacher wish lists. It was truly an honor for us to give back to a local school, particularly one that is making a huge difference in the lives of these special children. —Angie Slaughter Buena Park Moose Riders

The Winston-Salem Moose Riders held their 3rd Annual Charity Ride September 28, 2013, to raise money to benefit both Moose Charities and a young girl named Isabel Benbow whose parents died suddenly. Saturday brought "Carolina" blue skies and cool fall temperatures making it a per-fect day to get out and ride. Riders from all around the tri-city area came out to show their support for these great causes. With over 60 bikes registered, the riders enjoyed the hospitality of Judy's Too, Skylar Mayes in High Point and The Ole Watering Hole in Walburg, NC. Taking the scenic back roads we traveled back to the Winston-Salem Moose Lodge for raffles and prizes and a few adult beverages. A BIG thank you goes out to our Moose Rider Chef Steve Hicks who stayed behind to grill BBQ Chicken for all the riders. Dinner along with some great music that was provided by "DJ's Flash-back" of the New Garden Lodge completed this great day.

We raised $1000.00 allowing us to donate $500 to each worthy cause. Thanks to every-one who came out and rode or volunteered their time to make our 3rd Annual Charity Ride a success. —Jodie Gibby, President-Winston-Salem Moose Riders 466

Mother Nature has not been very good to Ohio Moose Riders! Wow, what a hard, awful winter we have had. Po-lar Vortex? Snow

rolls? Let’s think about spring and

being out on the open roads!

The Ohio State Moose

Riders were represented at the OSMA Mid Year Conference

held February 6 – 8th, 2014, in Inde-pendence, OH. Chairmen Steve Riggs,

Dick Stewart and Secretary Joe Trapp ad-dressed the men, while Sabrina Colburn ad-dressed the Women in Friday’s session

During the January Quarterly meeting in Harrison, we voted to do the Lodge Hopper again this year, For $5.00 you get a sheet and each time you visit a different Lodge get the sheet signed. Then at the October State Quarterly meeting in Circleville on October 18th, the sheets will be turned in

and the winner gets half the pot. Also at the State Quarterly meeting

we voted to buy two trikes for the seniors at Moose-haven and the State Moose Riders voted to give a $500.00 donation to L.I.F.E again this year! Many indi-vidual Moose Rider herds in Ohio have also contributed to

L.I.F.E again this year! Special Olympics are

another Ohio chari-ty that the

Moose Rid-ers sup-

port!

The next Quarterly meeting will be at Buckeye Lake Lodge on April 26th. The 2014 Bike-A-Rama will be hosted by Marysville Lodge July 11th and 12th. Other important Ohio Moose Rider dates are May 17th Blessing of the Bikes at Mooseheart, and at Dayton on same date. May 18th is the L.I.F.E Presentation at St Charles Lodge in Illinois. We need to go the distance by educating and encouraging our newer younger mem-bers! Please continue to volunteer and sup-port your Lodge, Chapter and any other committee you’re involved in, or want to become involved in. Let’s get the word out there and go the distance for Moose by tell-ing everyone about all the great things Moose has to offer! The economy is tough right now, so the Moose Fraternity needs all of our help and support! Please visit OSMA website and get the latest Moose Rider news and events! In District 24 in Florida, I am proud to say we now have 5 rider groups...Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Englewood, North Port and Venice, the latter two being our newest groups. We are growing in leaps and bounds! My home port is Port Charlotte Lodge #2121. This winter found us all with the yucky flu bug, so needless to say not all of us rode much this winter. Our road captains, Colin McTigue and Mike Devine, can find some roads we never knew existed, so we are looking forward to the spring! Our riders received a donation of brick pav-ers that are going to be installed at our Lodge for motorcycle parking and a pathway to our tiki bar at our Lodge. This year we are the hosting Lodge for Fall Rally and are in the planning stages now. We are going to have motorcycle

games, music, 50/50, Chinese auction and a country hoe down dinner dance on Saturday night. We will be installing a permanent fire pit out by our tiki bar to have going on Fri-day and Saturday night. You will be able to roast a hot dog or make s’mores for a late night snack. We will have RV parking (no hook ups) and primitive camping out by our tiki bar. Make sure to pre-register for the rally—we are going to have a blast! I would like to give a shout out to Eng-lewood for taking home 3 trophies from Spring Rally!! Farthest traveled went to Kym Wendell's nieces, all the way from Cali-fornia! Thanks girls for bartending! Best Bike and Most Members in Attendance !! Way to go Englewood! We look forward to seeing everyone at the Fall Rally! —Janie Boldt,

Riders Trade Leathers for Bling at WOTM EventRiders Trade Leathers for Bling at WOTM Event The passing of Mrs. Marcia Longenbarger has compelled me to speak of Heaven. Re-gardless of your specific religious beliefs, I know that Marcia believed in God and that Heaven was her destination. I read a descrip-tion of Heaven, from the Reverend Don Pip-er, who states he spent 90 minutes there. Whether you believe his story or not, his de-scription of Heaven is one that I choose to believe and will think about when Mrs. Mar-cia crosses my mind. I would like to share it with all of you.

“…With brilliance beyond earthly comprehension or description, joy pulsated through me as I looked around and became aware of a large crowd of people who stood in front of a brilliant ornate gate. The crowd rushed toward me, I knew instantly they were people from my lifetime that had already passed away. Every person was smiling, shouting & praising God. I knew, they were my celestial welcoming committee, as if they had gathered waiting for me. “An ecstatic bliss overwhelmed me, I don’t know why but the joyousness of being there wiped away any & all questions. Everything felt blissful and perfect; intense serenity, radiating excitement, great warmth, total joy and ultimate happiness. All the earthly worries, anxieties and concerns had vanished. “I had no needs, I was where I belonged. I was Home.”

After Marcia was diagnosed, our District 19 held their annual Get A Way. While there, they honored Marcia with a group pic-ture on the beach while hold a banner saying “We Love you Marcia.” The riders also held a fundraiser after one of our district meet-ings. We served dinner and had an auction. All proceeds were donated to Marcia.

After the passing, our Chaplain made rib-bons that were sold at the Celebration of Life held in February. We have also received In Memory Patches that will be sold on a first come first serve basis. After all patches are

sold, funds collected from patches and rib-bons will be donated to Moose Charities in Marcia’s name. Marcia was one of our founding members and will be missed by all.

In January Riverview hosted the State Rid-ers Meeting. We are truly pleased to have the support of our Lodge. The riders cooked lunch provided by the LOOM. After the meeting the riders held a silent auction. Din-ner was prepared and served by our WOTM. The True Identity Band was the entertain-ment provided by the LOOM.

Also in January we hosted our annual Chili Cook-off and Hot Pepper Eating contest. February the WOTM hosted “Cupids Cuties” where a couple of our riders were awesome sports and dressed as women to help support the WOTM.

Our first annual Spaghetti Sauce cook off was in March. We are in the planning stages of our next couple functions: Minute to Win it, and our Kids Day as well as a Fish Fry later in the day.

Follow us on Facebook or come join us for a good time with good friends and great Moose members.—Barbara Miller, Chaplain-Riverview (FL) Moose Riders

IN MEMORIAM MARCIA

LONGENBARGER Below is a Navajo Prayer, that I

can hear Marcia whispering in my ear even as I type it.

LIFE MUST GO ON… Grieve for me; for I would grieve for you, Then brush away the sorrow and tears. Life is not over, but begins anew, and with courage you must greet the coming years. To live forever in the past is wrong, and will only cause misery and pain. Dwell not on memories over long, Thru others you must share and care again. Reach out and comfort those who comfort you, And recall the years – but only for a while. Nurse not your loneliness, but live again, Forget not - just remember me with a Smile!

Rest in Peace Marcia and Our

Hello from St. Charles, IL! First, I would like to congratulate our Mooseheart Ram-blers Boys Basketball team on winning the State Championship for class 1A. Since we were not able to be in Peoria for the game, we live streamed it and watched it at the Lodge. How very exciting for those kids to be the first team to win a State title for us in a team sport! It was 100 years in the making, but well worth it! Well, it’s still cold and snowy, but we are hopeful everything will melt away sometime before June. It’s been a rough winter, but not so rough that we couldn’t have some fun in the snow. So we had our 2nd Annual Turkey Bowling/Meatloaf Cook-Off February 8th. The weather cooperated nicely for us and warmed up to a balmy 16°!! You know it’s been cold when you are discussing between frames, how nice it is outside. Our winner was Randy “Tootie’s the Man” Wyatt. As for meatloaf contest, well, all I can say is ‘Some like it hot’ for the second year, yours truly won the Meatloaf contest with my Cajun Meatloaf. Last year I had the element of sur-prise, this year they knew which one was mine…and I still won. I get the pleasure of making it again on April 30th as the special for our WOTM’s spaghetti night.

YOU” went out to Stack, Smitty, and Mar-gorie this past month for all of their hard work coordinating and organizing our newly designed MRC2 T-shirts now on sale (contact us for details)! MRC2 slows down the pace for no one—we are getting ready to welcome home Robert “Wrench” McIntire, kickin’ up feathers for Wing Night, and styling and profiling with our new MRC2 t-shirts. New opportunities are the sought-after goals for most people. Your Copperas Cove Moose Riders Activity Group offered no ex-ception to the rule. Following MRC2’s De-cember elections, new leadership personali-ties began working to promote a new year full of enjoyable activities, riding adventures, and the ability to raise money for charitable events. On January 1st, the beginning of a new year, newly elected Road Captain Eric Simpson took the reins and led thirteen (13) members and guests through back roads, country roads, and highways covering nearly 200 miles round trip to Reverend Jim’s Damn Pub and Coopers Old Time Pit BBQ in Lla-no, Texas. We all had a fantastic time: the ride was just as successful as our bellies were full! Additionally, the good folks of MRC2 de-cided to support our motorcycle community by participating in a blessing of the bikes hosted by the Christian Motorcycle Associa-tion and Dogmen M/C. Members of MRC2 shared a moment of prayer to eliminate the negative spirits of the road, and bring upon us (and the many who join us on the pave-ment) good fortune and safe travels. Yes, 2014 holds many promising experi-ences for MRC2 to look forward to. From Mooseheart, the Republic of Texas Rally, and our first annual Bike Night; to our Ital-ian dinner night open to Lodge members and guests—no wonder many of our hardwork-ing members are actively engaged in making 2014 the best year yet! Here’s to a great year of fun in the sun and two wheels to the pavement!—Snap, VP MRC2—TX

Your Moose Riders out of Copperas Cove, Texas (MRC2), have maintained a steady pace of good times while remaining focused on not only the Moose Lodge, but surrounding communi-ties. As MRC2 continues to prepare for upcoming events, such as our 1st An-nual Bike Night on March 29, 2014, MRC2 has at-tended events hosted by local M/C’s to show our

support for their chosen charities. In doing so, the motorcycle community not only acknowledges our involvement and contribu-tions, but promotes a sense of support for one another. To add, dinners hosted at the Moose Lodge have been equally successful. With Ray Martini and Alex “Smitty” Smith in the kitchen, Italian Night was a huge success leaving no plate unturned. By March, our stomachs will hopefully have reduced to nor-mal size in time for Wing Night on March 22nd at 6:00 PM. This year, the Moose Rid-ers have decided to continue giving back to the community in addition to the charity we provide to Moose charities. MRC2 elected to split received donations between three local charities: Cove House, Cove Soup Kitchen, and the Killeen Food Pantry. MRC2 hopes to raise the bar in charities as they have in the past. The months ahead are proving to be just as active and eventful as January with no clear signs of pumping our brakes. Ray Martini and Tim “SWW” Morris combined their su-per powers to organize a 230 mile road trip to Loco Coyote; few words cannot describe the experience shared. Up next, the Devil’s Backbone! “SWW” led the group approxi-mately 260 miles of pavement through the twists and turns of the alleged haunted roads of Texas’ Hill Country. The ride was another for the books! Additionally, MRC2 welcomed home Charles McPhail from his long deployment in Afghanistan serving our beloved country and Bill Nicolaus who served with him. Wel-come home gentlemen! A big “THANK

Both hospitals stated no one had ever done anything like that and they were thrilled to receive the children’s books. LAKE ELSINORE MOOSE RIDERS 1021 ARE EXCITED FOR 2014. As the 2014 year started with a new board for the Lake Elsinore Moose Riders 1021, the main agenda was finding ways to help increase enrollment for the Lodge and to bring all the different riding groups together to help support one another in their fund-raiser endeavors. Our first goal was to give to the L.I.F.E. program and we were able to donate $200 that was sent back in February. The “BLESSING OF THE BIKES” will be held on May 18, 2014, in Dayton, OH. The Day-ton Moose Lodge 73 Moose Riders, in conjunction with the A.B.A.T.E of Ohio, Inc. (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education), will host the 14th annual “BLESSING OF THE BIKES”. This event is held on the 3rd Sunday of May each year at the Kettering Health Network Stadium (Welcome Stadium) parking lot. The event is orga-nized by the Dayton Moose Lodge 73 Moose Riders and A.B.A.T.E. There are 22 separate subcommittees; over 100 volun-teers working year round and local businesses contributing monies, banners, and door prizes to organize and carryout this successful event. The “Blessing of the Bikes” blesses the riders and passengers for a safe riding season, while at the same time, is raising funds for two of our local charities: A Special Wish Foundation and the GREENEBUCS local chapter of AMBUCS. We raised over $5000.00 for these worthy caus-es, bringing us to a very substan-tial donation throughout the past twelve years. In a nondenomina-tional ceremony, Clergy from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, coor-dinated by Deacon Greg Cecere, individually walk through the parked bikes to bless each and every bike and their riders, often stopping to pray with riders for their special request. For the bik-ers, this is serious business. The blessing comes at the end of the

event and no one wants to leave before it happens. Bikers come from all over the tri state ar-ea, and this is considered the largest motor-cycle event in Southwestern Ohio. Bill Jenks, Chairman, Blessing of the Bikes Committee
