The Moon in PiscesPisces is a mutable Water sign. Its traditional ruler is philosophicaland religious Jupiter while its modern ruler is mysterious and hazyNeptune. In practice, both rulers are important and meaningful inunderstanding the life and character of those who were born withthe Moon in Pisces.

If Water signs were compared to different bodies of water thenPisces would be undoubtedly an ocean. This sign is wide opento the collective unconscious with its whales of archetypes andsharks of ideas. If someone is born with the Moon in Pisces, hisor her personal subconscious (the Moon) gets directly connected tothe collective unconscious (Pisces). As a result, such people get adeep and natural intuitive understanding of other people’s joys andtroubles, and they also get a direct access to an endless source ofcreativity.

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, has its exaltation in Pisces, andtherefore love, sympathy, beauty and harmony are very importantfor the Moon Pisceans. They can also be very romantic, charmingand entertaining. Many of them possess a powerful charisma, andsome of them can even become an epitome of beauty. Here is anexample:

• Cindy Crawford¹, an American model. “During the 1980sand 1990s, Cindy Crawford was among the most popularsupermodels, and a ubiquitous presence on magazine covers. Her success at modeling made her an international celebritythat has led to roles in television and film, and to work as aspokesperson”.

The Moon in Pisces 2

On the other hand, due to the nature of Pisces, they can also beeasily carried away by the sea of emotions. They can be unreliableand unpredictable even for themselves, as they really don’t knowwhich emotional current they will come across in the next fiveminutes.

Due to the influence of Neptune, the Moon-in-Pisces people canbe idealistic, somewhat unreal or otherworldly, imaginative anddreamy. They can also be selfless and devoted to a high idea butat the same time quite helpless when it comes to practical matters.

Politicians

People born with the Moon in Pisces aren’t usually that muchinterested in career or social position - much less than MoonCapricorns anyway. However, the world of big politics is all aboutsecrets, hidden influences and subtle nuances. This is where MoonPisces feel themselves like fish in the sea, so many of them canachieve a prominent position pursuing a political career.

I find that the Piscean themes can be clearly seen, in one or anotherway, in the life of such politicians and society leaders, just have alook at the examples below.

• Otto Friedrich Abetz², a German politician, an Ambassadorto Vichy France. “He was formerly an art teacher in a girl’sschool. He was anti-Semitic and played an active role insending French Jews to the gas chamber. Sentenced as a warcriminal in July 1949 to 20 years prison”. What a strangelife, one might say! I am giving it here as an examplebecause the whole life story of this man is saturated withthe symbolism of Pisces. The main themes are art and beauty(an art teacher in a girl’s school) - this is a clear association

with Venus exalted in Pisces; through its rulers Neptune andJupiter, Pisces is strongly associated with religion, especiallyChristianity, and therefore religious intolerance, like anti-Semitism; through Neptune, it is connected to chemistry andpoisoning (gas chambers); through its similarity with the 12thhouse, Pisces is associated with the places of isolation, likeprisons.

• J. Edgar Hoover³, an American Director of the Federal Bureauof Investigation from 1924, “famous for his dramatic cam-paigns against public enemies and organized crime. As theFBI’s leader, he made the Bureau into one of the world’s mostefficient law-enforcement agencies”. Pisces is strongly asso-ciated with everything which is hidden, including secrets, covert operations, and organized crime.

• Che Guevara⁴, an Argentinean revolutionary who led guer-rilla groups with the aid of Fidel Castro in their attempt tospread communism in South America and Africa. Again wecan see the theme of secret activities, and any ideology, butespecially Communist ideology, is strongly associated withNeptune, the ruler of Pisces.

• Cardinal Richelieu⁵, a French ecclesiastic and politician. “Withability, energy and extreme ambition, he became amember ofthe Royal Council, a Cardinal in 1622, and as chief ministerto King Louis XIII, he was the virtual ruler of France from1624-42”.

Healers and Mystics

Whether they realize it or not, many of the Moon-in-Pisces in-dividuals possess some kind of a psychic gift, or at least just a

strong intuition. If such a gift gets developed, they can tap into thecollective unconscious and virtually create miracles. They are alsovery much spiritually inclined and can be interested in any kind ofreligion or mysticism.

Here are a few examples from my collection:

• Barbara Brennan⁶, an American holistic healer, author ofseveral books, and founder of the Barbara Brennan Schoolof Healing.

• Ramakrishna⁷, an Indian saint and mystic, renowned as thefounder of the RamakrishnaMission, better know in theWestas the Vedanta Society. “An assistant in the temple of thegoddess Kali from 1855, he devoted his life to his religiousideals. He was a pantheist, believing that all religious pathslead to God-consciousness. To many Hindus he representeda ‘supremely realized self’ and an incarnation of the divine”.

• FredrickDavies⁸, a British psychic, astrologer and clairvoyantwho claimed a 80% accuracy. “Formerly an actor, director andproducer, he began a newspaper column and radio show inLondon that started his road to fame. He had a noted clientelefor 20 years of show business and public personalities”.

Movie People

The illusory life of the movies, if you look at it from the astrologicalpoint of view, is strongly associated with Neptune, the ruler ofPisces. A typical Moon-in-Pisces person spends a significant partof his or her life watching movies, and if the circumstances allow, they will never miss a chance to become a part of that mysterious

world. Here are a few examples of people who succeeded in makingtheir dream a reality:

• Robert De Niro⁹, an American actor, director and business-man, the winner of two Oscar awards for Best SupportingActor.

• William Berke¹⁰, an American filmmaker, a cameraman untilcataracts on both eyes forced him to change his venue toproducing and directing.

• Georges Melies¹¹, a French illusionist, a pioneer of specialeffects for cinematography.

Artists

Venus is an exalted planet in Pisces. It gives those who were bornwith the Moon in Pisces an ability to appreciate beauty and, atleast to some of them, to create beauty. Add to this an unlimitedimagination of Neptune, as well as the Moon’s deep connectionwith the subconsciousness, full of images, and you will understandwhy some of the world’s greatest artists have their Moon in Pisces.

• Michelangelo¹², an Italian Renaissance artist, sculptor, poetand architect, considered even today as the greatest figure inthe history of art.

• Paul Cézanne¹³, a French artist who “did not have his firstone-man show until he was age 56. In the following decade,he was acknowledged as one of the brilliant contributors totheworld of art, becoming an important influence on the 20th

century creative process. He is considered the spiritual fatherof Impressionism”.

• Raoul Dufy¹⁴, a French artist, a painter who was one of themajor artists of the Fauve group and considered a masterdraftsman.

Musicians, Dancers and Singers

Given everything which was already said about the Moon in Pisces,it isn’t a big surprise that most of my examples of the Moon-in-Pisces individuals became famous for their input into the world ofmusic. Just have a look at this list of glorious names:

• Elvis Presley¹⁵, an American pop singer, one of the most fa-mous entertainers in history whose notoriety became world-wide.

• Frank Sinatra¹⁶, an American legendary superstar of a singingcareer as well as TV and movies.

• Enrico Caruso¹⁷, an Italian opera singer with a brilliant voice, world known as one of the greatest tenors in history. Notedfor his strong, romantic voice, he captivated audiences withhis musical range and depth of feeling.

• Christoph Wilibald Gluck¹⁸, a German musician and one ofthe finest reformers of opera. He tried to make all parts of theopera serve the drama as in “Orfeo ed Euridice”.

• Michael Jackson¹⁹, an American singer, dancer and excep-tionally talented entertainer.

• Adriano Celentano²⁸, an Italian pop singer, actor, director, producer.

Scientists

The Moon-in-Pisces people typically have an irrational mind thatworks very efficiently with multidimensional images, abstract con-cepts, subtle hints, but not so well with hard facts. Thanks to theirdeep intuition, they can discover solutions that more pragmaticpeople would simply have never imagined.

The sphere of interests of these people is vast, and they can be fa-mous inmore than one activity, as the examples below demonstrate:

• Leonardo da Vinci²⁹, an Italian renaissance artist, inventor, engineer, sculptor and painter, he was truly a universalgenius.

• Benjamin Franklin³⁰, an American printer, author, publisher, inventor, scientist, public servant and diplomat, a renaissanceman, extraordinarily gifted.

• Samuel F.B. Morse³¹, an American inventor of the first suc-cessful electric telegraph and of Morse code. He was also anexcellent portrait painter.

Authors

With their rich imagination, powerful fantasy and ability to createwhole imaginary worlds in their mind, the Moon-in-Pisces peoplecan definitely become outstanding writers, and the examples belowconfirm this:

The Moon in Pisces 9

• Petrarch³², an Italian poet and scholar, whose works markedthe beginning of the Renaissance.

• Robert Louis Stevenson³³, a Scottish writer, novelist and poetwhose stories are noted for adventure and imagination. Oneof his most famous works is “Treasure Island”.

• Johann Wolfgang von Goethe³⁴, Germany’s most famouswriter, a great literary genius of imagination and versatilitywho was unsurpassed as a poet and whose name is enteredin the pages of history as one of the world’s great thinkers.

• Percy Bysshe Shelley³⁵, a British writer known as one of thegreatest lyric poets of the English Romantic age, a writer ofdelicate beauty.

• Gene Roddenberry³⁶, an American writer best known forcreating the TV series “Star Trek” which ran on NBC for threeyears and had 78 episodes.

• Leonard Cohen³⁷, a Canadian novelist and songwriter-folksingerwho became a Buddhist monk, “shaving his head and livingpart-time in a monastery on Mount Baldy, outside of LosAngeles, CA”. This person is so versatile and multi-talentedthat it would be hardly possible to classify him into justone single category, but the symbolism of Pisces, Jupiter andNeptune is clearly visible in all the different aspects of hislife.

The Moon in Pisces in the Family

Those who were born with the Moon in Pisces might experiencetheir parents’ family as a sea of selfless love. Their parents could

have been not very good in handling social responsibilities andmight have been not able to teach discipline to their child, butthey would have certainly made sure that the child had the bestemotional atmosphere possible and could freely express his or hercreativity. This is also how Moon-in-Pisces parents tend to treattheir own kids.

However, this was an ideal scenario. In fact, mysterious Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, can have very different manifestations. Otherpossible scenarios can be parents who are so fascinated with aspiritual or creative journey that they hardly remember that theyhave any kids, and so their children feel abandoned. It is also notunusual to see a child born into the family of alcoholics to have theMoon in Pisces.

And of course, there are numerous variations in between thegood and the bad extremes. Quite often one can see that difficultemotional conditions in the childhood only help theMoon-in-Piscesindividuals to develop and bring out their best talents and abilities.

Recovering From a Stress

To recover from a significant stress, a Moon-in-Pisces individualwould need to forget about the world of harsh reality and find himor herself in the world of fantasy and imagination. The easiest wayto do this would be to watch a movie or to read an interesting book.

Contact with water is very important for the Moon Pisceans. Evena simple shower can wash away many of their troubles. A visit to aswimming pool or a spa would be even better, but if they can affordto spend a couple of weeks on a tiny island in the middle of a hugeocean, that can heal their soul from many of its wounds.

It would be difficult to overestimate the importance of a cleanemotional atmosphere for those who were born with the Moon inPisces. They are very much aware of the moods and sometimes

Page 15: MoonSign - samples.leanpub.comsamples.leanpub.com/moonsign-sample.pdf · MoonSign discover your true self AlexanderKolesnikov Thisbookisforsaleat Thisversionwaspublishedon2016-11-26

The Moon in Pisces 11

even thoughts of the surrounding people, and if those moods andthoughts are negative, they will suffer and try to find a moresuitable environment.

Alcohol can be quite helpful as an anti-stress remedy, but it isimportant to remember that the Moon in Pisces makes people moresensitive to alcohol than an average person. They should be verycareful both with the quality of alcohol and the quantity of it. Also,if they develop a dependence on alcohol or drugs, which again ismore likely for a Moon-in-Pisces person than for an average person, that will eventually weaken them and make them more stress-prone.

Health and Diet

First of all, it would be very good for a Moon-in-Pisces individual tolive by the sea. A river or a lake might be a suitable option too, butnothing can really be compared to a proper sea or ocean. A walkby the sea, a sea-smelling breeze will help to relieve or even carryaway all the troubles and stresses, making one’s life healthier andhappier.

Any treatment involving water, especially seawater, such as a spatreatment, will be highly effective for people born with the Moonin Pisces.

One thing is very important to remember: theMoon in Pisces is verysensitive to various chemicals, drugs and artificial stimulants. Thisincludes alcohol and narcosis used in surgery. A Moon-in-Piscesperson can easily get an overdose - the sad story of Michael Jacksoncan be an example here - or develop an addiction.

As for the diet, it is very important to make sure that the food is veryfresh and is of a high quality. The Moon-in-Pisces people shouldnever try any food that looks suspicious, or maybe just stayed inthe fridge for too long. Their digestion is acutely sensitive to any

poisons and can react violently to a food that most other peoplewould consider perfectly acceptable.

A Surprise Moment

Now, this was really a surprise for me. Given everything I knowabout Pisces, Neptune and Jupiter, can I understand why most ofthe leaders of the automobile industry in my collection were bornwith theMoon in Pisces? Perhaps not. But I will keep thinking aboutthis.

• Ernesto Maserati³⁸, an Italian industrialist, the builder anddesigner of the high performance Maserati automobile. Hebuilt and raced his own cars before devoting full time tomanufacturing; he had planned and overseen every step ofthe creation of his prize-winning race cars. Interestingly, theemblem of the Maserati cars is very similar to the symbol ofNeptune.

• André Citroën³⁹, a French industrialist, the creator and man-ufacturer of a front wheel drive car, the Citroen.

• Ferruccio Lamborghini⁴⁰, an Italian industrialist, the builderof the Lamborghini automobiles.

Now that we’ve covered all the twelve signs of the zodiac and howthe Moon manifests itself in them, I want to use this knowledge asa foundation and go a little bit further. The first topic to discuss ishow different Moon Signs relate to each other, what kind of energybackground they create in a relationship.
