    Moodle Tip of the Month...

Guides and tutorials for the Moodle modules and blocks featured in

monthly newsletter can be found on the MoodleLearn website:

    https://moodlelearn.elearning.iesabroad.org

Use the following generic log-in: User ID - iesstudent

    Password - Student1

To save a copy of your course, go to Administration > Backup. If you do

resources and activities, uncheck all of the boxes next to User Data.

Although automatic backups are made to all courses every weekend, it

is always best practice to keep an additional backup for yourself.

Featured Moodle Module - Book Module

The Book Module can be used to present information in a well-structured, user-friendly format. Its features allo

users to import individual web pages, making it useful for group work. For instance, each student in a course ca

create simple web pages, and the faculty member can in turn upload the pages to the book to create usefuinteresting resources for other students.

This module can be used to create a tour guide, a nutrition guide, a resource about local community organizationa historical summary, or many other books.

The Book Module is a resource that can be used to build onlinebooks chapter by chapter. The Book Module makes it easy to createmulti-page collections of resources in a book-like format inside aMoodle course. Previously created websites can be imported intothe Book Module, and books can be printed in their entirety or bychapter.

The Book Module allows you to have main chapters andsub-chapters. The Module itself is not interactive, but it is possible

to link to Choice activities, Forums, and other interactive modulesfrom within a book. A book can also include multimedia objectssuch as Flash movies.
