Idea One

My first idea for my deforestation campaign is to link it with the effect it has on the animals which live in the rainforest. This idea is the first effect I thought of doing and I have the most ideas for this campaign. I also wanted to cover this idea as the majority of people who filled in my survey ticked that this was there main concern, even over climate change. However, they aren’t acting on their concern so I wanted to make a campaign which was hard hitting enough to make them act on it and do something.

The images in my campaign, if I do this idea, thought provoking as when looking at the results of my questionnaire I think the main issue is that people are not thinking about or are unsure about what they can do to help even though they are concerned so my campaign will make people act more on their concern. The idea I have for an image is hands cupped with a tree and animals in them, this links to my idea for a tagline (next slide). The images of all my posters will also all be quite cartoon-like and I plan to create my posters by using rotoscoping as I think the contrast between a serious issue with a cartoon-like image will be effective in making my audience think about the issue more.

For the colour scheme of my campaign as a whole, as I have shown on my mood board, I would keep it linked with the colours of the rainforest so I would use the typical greens, but to make it have more of the hard hitting effect, which I wanted, I will make them darker greens and blues so the adverts that are part of my campaign are gloomy, I think this will make them more effective on my audience.

Idea One Continued…

For the fonts I will use in this campaign, I have a couple of ideas which will depend on my final idea. My first idea for my font is quite a bold one, this is quite an obvious choice but it will make my adverts stand out so that my target audience are likely to see them so my campaign will be as effective as possible. The second idea for my font on my campaign I want to have quite an organic/natural feeling on my audience as it is a campaign on the rainforest so this would like in quite well and I think it would make my audience think that it is a natural environment instead of somewhere we can use as we like, I would like to find a way of combining these two styles of fonts to use one that was still bold but had like a wood effect to it.

For a tagline in my campaign I have had a few ideas but which one I will use will depend on what the style of my poster ends up like. My ideas so far are ‘Deforestation kills more than trees.’ This would go with the first image idea I spoke about on the previous slide, with the person thinking about animals in the rainforest. I think this would be quite an effective one when paired with a powerful image as it will get my audience to think. I also think that would be a good tagline line as it uses short, snappy sentences. This makes it easy and simple to read but is also quite abrupt and hard hitting which was the overall feel I want to create in my campaign. I also plan to use the tagline of ‘It’s in YOUR hands.’ I think this would be effective when paired with the deforestation kills more than just trees tagline.

Idea Two

My second idea for my poster is to have two trees next to each other, one is standing fine, the other one will be rotated as if it is falling, I will pair this with the caption ‘YOU can cut down on deforestation’ or something like that. This adds a bit of sarcasm to my poster which will appeal to my target audience, however it will still convey a serious message to them which is the aim of my campaign.

Again, the images in my campaign will all be rotoscoped so that it looks like the other posters. This will help my campaign become more recognisable. The colours of my poster will again all be related to the issue my campaign tackles so all the colours would be those found in the rainforest i.e. greens and browns. This will make my audience immediately realize what my campaign is about and will therefore make them think more about helping to save the rainforests.

The font of my poster will again be quite a bold one which will incorporate a feel of nature in it to link the style of my poster back to the topic it covers- this will make my campaign and organisation look more professional and well planned, therefore making the audience think highly of it, this will encourage them to do what the posters say and act on them.

Idea Three

For my third and final idea I plan to rotoscope an orangutan and some faded trees for a background and have the caption of ‘do YOU want to see them homeless’ I think this will work well as a poster as I will have the orangutan placed as if looking directly at the audience, this will act as direct address and will mean that the audience will connect with the poster and hopefully, the organisation more and help to do something about the issue of deforestation.

I will keep the colours of my poster similar to all the others so that my posters and other products all have a similar and consistent style to them. I plan to do this so that my campaign and organisation become more recognizable to my audience, therefore making my campaign more effective in doing its job.

I will also keep the style of my images the same style to the other ones I create for my poster so that they all look similar and professional- helping to make my campaign more successful.

The font of my posters will all be the same to continue and create a similar style (like I have mentioned on previous slides.) I like the one on the image mood board, I found this on dafont and I think I will use it in my campaign as I think it combines being bold and the feel of nature well as it looks like scratched bark which will fit my campaign subject well.
