MOOD ACOUSTICELEMENTS
Setting the Mood
Sound absorbing elements
The images printed on the textile surfaces of the elements can be
selected from the Mood Images collection, designed by Mood’s
design service, obtained from public image banks, or supplied by
the client.
The Mood Images collection contains photographs and drawn
graphics by various photographers and designers. The collection’s
images can be implemented, within certain technical constraints, in
various sizes and cropping. Certain subjects also allow adjustments
to the colour scheme and composition.

Mood Acoustic elements are always custom-made
and they can be used to cover even large seamless
surfaces.
The sound absorbing elements are assembled during
installation by stretching a fabric over an aluminium
frame where the sound absorbing acoustic panels are
installed. The sound absorption class of the surface is
determined by used acoustic absorbers.
The easily changeable textile surface can be printed
with a freely selected image. Alternatively, the frame
can be fitted with prefabricated woollen fabrics such
as Soul, Atlantic Screen or Event Screen / Grabriel
A/S.
The frame features a silver anodised base coating.
They can be also coated with colours of the RAL
colour chart.

• Recommended file formats: PDF, TIFF, JPG, EPS, PSD, Ai
• It is advisable to supply logos in vector format.
• Fonts should be supplied in converted form or as a separate file.
• Sizing is indicated as width x height.
• File bleed margins should be 15mm per edge, i.e. 30mm extra to the width
and the height. PDF files should be submitted without cutting markings, but
with bleed margins.
• Files should be submitted in scale 1:1, large sizes in 1:2, 1:4, 1:10, etc. It is advisa-
ble to keep the file sizes below 1GB in order to facilitate the file transfer.
• The following guidelines can be used when determining the resolution:
– Viewing distance 0-2m: min 120 dip (1:1)
– Viewing distance 2-5m: min 75 dpi (1:1)
– Viewing distance more than 5mm: min 50 dpi (1:1)
• Colour definition: CMYK
• Printable profile: ISO Coated V2 (ECI)
• Detailed colour specification is indicated according to either Pantone C or U
system coding (C or U should be indicated) or in CMYK format.
• Exact colour matches in accordance with colour samples submitted to the
factory (such as upholstery fabrics of furnishings).
The custom made Mood Acoustic elements can be installed on a walls or ceilings.
They can also be assembled into two-sided space dividers and partitions.
When planning element sizes, it is advisable to optimise the size of the frame to the
size of the sound absorbing panel. The optimal sizes for wall-mounted elements
are:
- Larger sizes available on request.

The elements are fitted with Basotect® acoustic panels. The sound absorption class
is determined according to the selected frame and panel strength, between C-B
(EN ISO 11654).
Frame / mm = frame profile depth
Filling = Basotect®, grey
Abs. classification = with panels mounted on a surface
* the applied printing method is sublimation using water soluble colours The
acoustic permeability of AcuTex textile type was tested in the Turku Regional Office
of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health. The test results are available in PDF
format.
** Because of the foam-like surface structure of Basotect® material, sound waves
are not reflect from the surface, but are absorbed into the structure. Basotect® has
excellent sound absorbing qualities for a light material.
Wipe the frame using a damp cloth.
Wipe the fabric carefully with a microfiber cloth. Wipe with a damp cloth, if neces-
sary (avoid leaving water marks). Vacuum with a soft nozzle.
The fabric can also be removed for airing.

The aluminium frame is delivered in parts in a long package. The
fabric and the acoustic panels are delivered in separate packages.
Delivery includes tools and equipment for assembling the frame, as
well as the screws and plugs required for wall mounting.
1.
The frame can be assembled on the floor and mount-
ed on a wall. Large elements are installed by assem-
bling one profile at a time. The frame is fixed to the
wall at several points using the screws that perforate
the frame. The frame features pre-drilled screw holes.
The straightness and the height at the middle part of
the frame must be checked after mounting the frame
on the wall. In order for the textile to cover the frame
correctly, the frame must be straight and it should not
be bent in the middle.
2.
Beginning at either bottom corner, frame is filled with
the acoustic panels. The panels are typically installed
horizontally. The panels can be cut with a sharp knife,
if necessary. In case of large panel masses, the middle
panels can be fixed to the wall with glue, for example.
3.
The fabric is stretched onto the frame by placing
the silicone band into the groove on the edge of
the aluminium profile. The installation is started by
fixing the corners first and followed by the sides. The
silicone has to be pushed properly into the corner so
that the corner will be as tidy as possible. With correct
installation, the silicone tape should not be visible, but
coiled under the fabric.
The fabric may feel very tight during installation. This
is normal, as the fabric has been carefully measured
to fit the frame tightly so that no stretch marks are left
on the surface.
Installation
1. Determine the sizes and quantities of the elements. Adhere to the optimal sizing reference of the elements as much as possible.
2. Select the images to be print-ed on the surface or the fabric to be used on the surface from the ready-made collections (confirm with Mood that the fabric you selected is suitable for the concept). Mood will be happy to help you search or design suitable images.
3. It is advisable to take exact measurements at the installa-tion site before starting pro-duction. This also allows you to make sure that there are no plugs or controllers at the instal-lation site. It is also advisable to check with the client that the in-stallation site is compatible with the screws used for mounting the element.set.
The pricing of Mood Acoustic elements depends on
the size and quantity of the elements.
