It is hard to think of a recreational pursuit that is not available to the residents of Torrance. Walking, cycling, and jogging are locally very popular and not just because of the nearby canal with its level towpath going all the way across Scotland. Angling, golf, tennis, bowling and all the team sports are available and there are all the interest groups, recreational organisations and youth organisations you would expect in a mature residential setting. This is also a historic part of Scotland, being on the line of the Roman Antonine Wall and history groups are very active.

Glancing at a map you will see that Torrance is closely connected by road to several nearby centres like Kirkintilloch, Kilsyth, Milngavie, Bearsden, Bishopbriggs and, of course, the city of Glasgow. Bus services are long established and very reliable and the nearby towns also offer rail connections to Glasgow or Edinburgh and the rest of the UK rail network. Work is currently underway on the Bishopbriggs Relief Road, which is due to be completed late 2017.
