I am happy to report that our 49th year of education will godown as one of our more successful school years in MontiniCatholic history. The 2014-15 school year was filled withmuch excitement and many stories of academic and extracurricular success.Over $18 million was awarded in scholarships and academicgrants to the 163 members of the class of 2015. Over the lastthree years, Montini Catholic graduating senior classes haveearned over $44 million dollars in college scholarships andgrants – this does not include the Division I and DivisionII athletic scholarships that several of our students receiveeach year. I am also very proud to announce that 20 students werenamed Illinois State Scholars and 35 perfect scores of 5 inAdvanced Placement examinations were placed by our students. Fifteen out of 18 IHSA teams have earned the IHSAAcademic Achievement Award for the 2014-15 school year.This means that the 15 teams, during their seasons, main-tained an accumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.Since the award was established by the IHSA in 2003, 136Montini Catholic IHSA athletic teams have been presentedthis IHSA Academic Achievement Award. We entered 2014-15 school year very excited, but also anxious, concerning the launch of our Digital Learning 1 to 1iPad program for our entire student body. This was a hugestep for our school. Last school year’s iPad pilot programprovided our administration and faculty with the informationand training we needed for the full implementation for ourstudent body but transitioning from 40 iPads to 680 iPadsand full classroom implementation was a great challenge. I was very pleased with the progress and success we experienced in our first year of full implementation and weare even more confident that this is the direction in classroominstruction that we want for our school community. Montini Catholic also had another outstanding year in theareas of extracurricular activities, spiritual programs and community service learning. State Championships inWrestling and Dance along with a Runner-up State trophy infootball, a Third Place state trophy in Girls Basketball, ThirdPlace Trophy in Math and a Fourth Place state trophy in GirlsVolleyball highlighted very successful year in extracurricularcompetition also filled with numerous Regional and Confer-ence Championships claimed by our teams.

Several Montini Catholic students were awarded individualathletic honors as well. Our fine arts program, exhibits, concerts and performanceswere of outstanding quality and students performed to soldout audiences throughout the year. The Campus Ministry office organized and sponsored 46 community service learn-ing opportunities during this past school year, including anout of state Habitat for Humanity trip, several weekend tripsto homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the city of Chicagoand our first international community service learning experience with a summer trip to Nicaragua. Unfortunately, Development Activities did not see the samesuccess as our school academic and extracurricular programs.Overall Development revenue was about $250,000 less thanthe previous year and we did not see an increase in AnnualFund participation. However, even with the shortfall in development activities we still were able to invest in capitalimprovements. The construction of a new Duffy MemorialStadium press box, a new web site provider and design andrenovation of the softball field were just some of the manyimprovements last year that added to the quality of our facilities and the overall appearance of the school campus. Our administration, faculty, staff and students know that thebar has been set high as we begin our 50th school year, andwe accept this challenge. If we continue to challenge ourselves, and continue to look at ways to grow our school programs and advance our Lasallian, Catholic mission of education, I truly believe we will continue to experience thesuccess and growth we have seen in our school programs andschool community. Once again, my sincere appreciation to all of you for yourcontinual support. Your generosity truly makes a differencein the college preparatory education experience that we provide each Montini Catholic student. Montini Catholic High School is a family-centered, co-educational, college preparatory high school, rooted in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ as emulated by St. JohnBaptist DeLaSalle and committed to the education of thewhole person. Our LaSallian tradition recognizes the sacredness of all persons and educates students of diverse abilities, cultures,and socioeconomic backgrounds.Each student is expected to participate in an educational setting that will emphasize the message of Christ, service,and responsibility to Church, family and community.Montini has a religious purpose and an academic purpose.The religious is primary, as the religious nature of the schoolpervades the entire school community. MAROON & GOLD GALA (AUCTION)This past spring, Montini Catholic hosted its 24rd Annual BenefitAuction, renamed the Maroon & Gold Gala, at the SignatureRoom in Woodridge. This event brings together current parents,alumni parents, alumni and Montini Catholic community sup-porters to raise money for the mission of the school. Over 400attendees participated in raffles, the silent auction, the live auc-tion and the Fund-a-Need. The evening concluded with thedrawing of the Champions Club Raffle. Over $140,000 in netproceeds was received from the evening’s activities.

BRONCO CLASSIC GOLF OUTINGSt. Andrews Golf Course hosted the 25th Annual Bronco ClassicGolf Outing. Over 280 golfers filled both courses for a round of

golf complete with golf challenges and games. The event alsofeatured raffles and a silent auction which were held during thedinner. This event provided Montini Catholic with $21,000 innet proceeds for the operating budget.

RAFFLESThis past year Montini Catholic held three major raffle drives,the Tuition Raffle, Masters Raffle, Bulls Raffle and the SuperBowl Raffle. Each featured exciting prizes including a trip to theMasters Golf Tournament, a trip to the Super Bowl in Arizona ora cash prize. These raffles combined netted close to $66,900.
