The water so collected shallbe utilized for wateritrg the mine area, roads,green belt development etc. The drains shallbe regularly desilted and maintained properly.Garland drains (size, gradient and length) andsump capacity shall be designed keeping 50%safety margin over and above the peak suddenrainfall and maximum discharge in the areaadjoining the mine site. Sump capacity shallalso be provided adequ ate retention period toallow proper settlitrg of silt material.

viii) Dimensions of the reiithe dumps and OB benches within the mine tocheck run-off and siltation shall be based onthe rainfall data.

Colony road 2 km. has been augmented and backtopped.

x) Major haul roads shall be fitted with highefficiency water sprinkling system to checkfugitive emissions at the tiansfer point,haulage roads, etc. Dry fogging system / Mistspray arrangement shall be provided forcrushing I loading operation for dust controlat the CHP.

Water sprinkling is done as routine workconstantly round the clock at all the haul roadsand other strategic points.There is no CHP at Ledo OCP.

xi) Drills shall be wet operated only. Wet operated drills are only used.xii) Controlled blasting for OB shall be practiced

for removal of OB only with use of delaydetonators and a minimum statutory safedistance from the habitation shall bemaintained. The mitigative measure forcontrol of ground vibrations and to arrest theqyfqc\s and boulders shall be implemented.

Control Blasting is done with NONEL (DTH-DTH-Down the Hole and TLDOTrunk LineDelay) to minimrze noise generation, groundvibration and to prevent fly rock" Controlledblasting is done as per the permission granted byDirector General of Mines Safety.

The entire decoaled void shallbe completely backfilled and thre shall be novoid left at the post mining state.

Mine Closure Plant has been prepared andapproved CIL Board and submitted to Ministryof Coal. Progressive reclamation is already inprocess. Final reclamation will start towards endof mine life.

XV) Prior approval of the CGWB I CGWA shallbe obtained in case of use of ground water formining operations.

Prior approval has been taken however noground water is used for mining operation.

xvi) The Ledopani Nallah and the mine waterdischarged out of the ML shall be monitoredat the outlet points and treated before theirdischarge so as to conform to the standardsprescribed particularly for pH under GSR422(E) dated 19th Muy, lg93 and 3 I'tDecember, 1993 and further amendments.

Mine water is being treated at mechantzed ETPof Ledo OCP with chemical doztng in the ETPand discharged after proper monitoring at theoutlet point. Treated water eonforms to prescribestandards. Report is enclosed for readyreference.

xvii) Regular monitoring of ground water level andquality particularly for Acid Mine Drainage(AMD) shall be carried out by establishing anetwork of existing wells and construction ofnew peizometers. The monitoriirg for quantityshall be done four times a yeffi in premonsoon (May), Monsoon (August), Postmonsoon Qrlovember) and Winter (January)seasons and for quality in May. Data thuscollected shall be submitted to the Ministry ofEnvironment & Forest and to the CentralPollution Control Board quarterly within onemonth of monitoring.

Regular monitoring of ground water quality isbeing conducted by taking samples of waterfrom tube wells in the buffer zone. The analysisresult can be seen in the monitoring reportsenclosed"

xviii) The project authority shall undertakerainwater harvesting measures and shall alsomeet water requirement of nearby village(s)in case the village wells go dry due todewatering of mine or quality detoriates due

Due to high rainfall in this part of the country,no case of village wells going dry has been seen

or reported. Total rainfall in this period was1662.2A mm.

shall be installed in the colony. ETP shall alsobe provided for workshop and CHPwastewater. Treated wastewater meetingprescribed norms only shall be permitted to bedischarged into the natural water courses.

Sewage treatment of the colony of Ledo oCP isbeing carried out through septic tank and soakpits as laid down in EIA-EMP submitted toMoEF. For mine water ETP is runningefficiently.

XX) Besides canying out regular periodic healthcheck up of their workers. l0% of the workersidentified from workforce engaged in activemining operations shall be subjected to healthcheck up for occupational diseases andhearing impairment, if dfry, through an agencysuch as NIOH, Ahmedabad within a period ofone yeff and the results report to this Ministryand to DGMS.

Periodic medical examination of the workers asper the norms of DGMS is being conducted (asper rule 29(B) of Mines Rule 1955). lllth of thetotal work force i.e. 20% are made to undergosuch medical examination every year. No casesof occupational health disease or hearingimpairments have been detected.

xxi) Detailed socio-economic measures shall beimplemented under CSR until the end of minelife

Socio economic measures are being taken underCSR polity of CIL.

xvii) For monitoring land use pattern and for postmining land use, a time series of land usemaps, based on satellite imagery (on a scaleof 1:5000( of the core zone and buffer zone,from the start of the project until end of minelife shall be prepared once in 3 yars (for anyone particular season which is consistent inthe time series) and the report submitted toMoEF and its regional office at Shillong.

Land use plan have been prepared by CMPDIL,Ranchi with satellite imagery of IRS,Hyderabad. Last report for 2015 have alreadybeen submitted to Regional Office of MoEF,Shillong.

xviii) A final mine closure plan along with detailsof corpus Fund shall be submitted to theMinistry of Environment &, Forest 5 year inadvance of final closure for approval.

B. SPECIAL CONDITION:

Pollution Monitoring and analysis is done byengaging an External Laboratory approved byPollution Control Board, Assam.

x) Personnel working in dustry areas shall wereprotective respiratory devices and they shallalso be provided with adequ ate training andinformation on Safety and health aspects.occupational health surveillance programmeof workers shall be undertaken periodically toobserve any contractions due to exposure todust and to take corrective measures, ifneeded
