Pastor’s Message Series
This is Love:
A Walk Through I John
Sunday Mornings, 10:55 a.m. Listen to Sermons Online
www.mcbcwhitehouse.com
Last week, Gail & I
were running errands
when our cell phone
rang. Gail answered
and a woman ex-
plained she works at the Whitehouse
Food Pantry and they needed our
address. She went on to say they want
to acknowledge churches that have
been a blessing to the pantry and Mt.
Carmel was one of the first ones that
was mentioned.
During our conversation she excitedly
shared how our church members had
helped during the last year - food dona-
tions, volunteering to help, gift bags and
more. We thanked her for her kind-
ness and told her we actually were in
the process of collecting canned soup
for the Pantry with a goal of 200 cans.
Then, she got really excited!
As your Pastor, I want to personally
thank you for reaching out into our
community this way. Gail and I are so
blessed to serve with folks like you.
So, let me encourage you to bring
those canned soup donations by Sun-
day, February 3 so they can be deliv-
ered to the Food Pantry Monday,

February 4. Thanks, again, MCBC
for all you do to be a witness
through your generosity.

We don't all have the opportunity to visit those in
prison. But, we can show the love of Christ and
witness to them. How? By sending our Christian
books to them. This will include fiction and non-
fiction, as well as Bibles, Bible commentaries, devo-
tionals, etc. Books may be deposited in the con-
tainer provided in front of the library on the display
table. See www.cli-nc.org for more information
about the organization that will be distributing
these books. Questions? Ann Bennett, 894-8168.

Think About It
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort
of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove, but the world may be different be-
cause I was important in the life of a child. Author Unknown
