Chairman’s messageDear Fellow Members of the Greater Mahopac
Carmel Chamber of Commerce & Board of Directors,
Recently, your Chamber hosted its Annual Street Festival. Once again, the festival was bigger and better than the year before and, once again, it was an overwhelming success. The food, music, rides, participating vendors, thousands of visitors and perfect weather all contributed to a fun filled day. I want to thank the Street Festival Committee Co-Chairs, Domenic Zecca and John Iorio and all committee members and volunteers. The many hours of planning, the hard work, the cooperation and the coordination of everyone involved are truly appreciated.
This year the Holiday Party will be held on December 1st, 2015 at the Winery at St. George’s. Last year, everyone attending the event had a fantastic time. I am truly looking forward to this party and for good reason; good food, fine wine, lively music, great conversation, close friends and a festive atmosphere. It is going to be a fantastic night! If you are planning to attend please call the Chamber Office to reserve a seat as soon as possible.
Events such as the Street Festival and the Holiday Party are perfect opportunities to network and promote your business. As a business owner, you should take the time to attend networking functions. Networking creates opportunities to develop connections, build long term relationships, expand networks, strengthen existing relationships and, ultimately, put more money in your pocket.
The Chamber’s Annual Business Directory for 2016 is currently in the development stage. The Directory is a resource for all information regarding the Chamber and the Mahopac-Carmel community, member businesses and events. It is also a resource for information on school districts, real estate, government, transportation and tourism. The Directory will be available in January 2016. As stated in a previous newsletter, please utilize this directory.
Being a Chamber member and being listed in the Chamber’s Directory are important steps in building relationships and bringing awareness to you and your business. However, action is also a necessary step. You DO need to participate and volunteer. You NEED to be a part of the Chamber’s solid support system. Long term relationships are established and maintained through hard work and patience. Your Chamber creates opportunities to build long term relationships and strengthen existing relationships but you must make it happen

Traditions Restaurant ~ For those of you who missed it, we had a great meeting at Traditions Restaurant last week. But then again Lisa and her son, Michael, always go above and beyond any time we have an event there. It’s also a perfect place to have a special family celebration. you can have your own little area sectioned off for privacy. Thanks so much Lisa and Michael!.
‘Bears for Love’ ~ Please try to remember we are collecting ‘new only’ stuffed animals for the children, (patients, siblings and visitors) at Putnam Hospital Center. If you can, please bring one to the Holiday Party or drop one off at the Chamber Office. The hospital really appreciates the Chamber thinking of them, and the stuffed animals bring lots of smiles to lots of children. So.......very soon actually any day now Mike and Laurie Bucci will have their third baby! Their two little girls
are anxiously awaiting this little baby! We all look forward to hearing the good news, all the best to a great couple.Until next time enjoy this gorgeous Fall season. Please email me any news you’d like to share with our fellow
members.

For the Board oF directors Scott Centifonti EVO Platnum Services Group1) I, Scott Centofonti have been a Mahopac Resident for the past 8 years and a chamber member for the past 5. With my wife Niki, we are raising a family of three young boys that are about to be or are in the Lakeview Elementary School. The boys are enrolled in the MSA soccer program where I help coach in my free time. The family is rounded out by two dogs Jasper and Roxy and a cat, Scout. 2) I’m a payments consultant to small business. Working for EVO Payments International, I have helped small and medium size businesses compete with the big box stores, by accepting payment at the register, point of sales systems, smart phones and through websites. 3) I would like to give back to the business community in our area. I have experience in working in other states as well as communities on the east and west coast of the United States. Bringing in another perspective, along with new ideas on how things are done in different areas. Working with businesses in the Mahopac- Carmel area for the past 8 years has been a wonderful experiences and I would like to help with growth of the chamber.

One of the many mistakes I have made in my cleaning business was to spend an unequal amount of time looking for new customers to do business with our company. As I started learning more about the game of marketing, I realized that getting new customers was important, but not the most important revenue source for a local service business.I would like to introduce you to the Four
Phases of Marketing for Massive Business Growth. 1) Lead Generation2) Prospects3) New Customers4) Client ReferralsYou can think of these 4 phases as buckets that are funded
with your advertising and marketing dollars. When you have your marketing plan worked out you will
decide how much to invest in each individual bucket. Most businesses will not survive solely on new customers
since the profit of new and first order customers is usually not enough to cover all the overhead of your business expenses.
Most profit comes from repeat business and referrals. Let’s look at bucket number 1, LEAD
GENERATION. You have two basic choices. You can just advertise anyplace, which is like throwing mud on a wall and seeing what sticks, or if you do a little homework and figure where your best prospects might be, you can advertise in targeted mediums. The choice you make will have an impact on the return of your lead generation dollars spent. Regardless of which way you advertise you hopefully will get some response. This response will lead to bucket number 2. Your prospects.
Bucket number 1 will lead to bucket number 2 the PROSPECTS. These are people that raise their hand saying “I might be interested in what you are selling”. This bucket is very important. These are the ones you have the opportunity to turn into paying customers. This is where you use your selling techniques to turn your prospects into new customers. You are now entering bucket list number 3, new customers. NEW CUSTOMERS are the beginning of your revenue
stream. The purpose of new customers is to turn them into returning clients. Once they have bought from you, it is your responsibility to turn them into LOYAL returning clients buying again and again and again. You will only get customers to become loyal returning clients by supplying good service or products. At this point you are entering the 4th phase of your Marketing for Massive Business Growth. The fourth bucket is REFERRALS. Many people think that
if they provide good service and products that the customer or client will just start telling their friends and family about you. Well maybe a few will, but don’t count on that being the norm. The real deal with getting referrals is to build a relationship with the client. There is not enough space here to talk about building relationships, but feel free to call and we can discuss this further. You now have some thinking to do about which buckets will
get the marketing dollars available in your business. Well, what are you waiting for? What can you do to Maximize your Business Growth this year? I want to help you grow your business! Remember if you need help with your marketing give the Positive Zone a call at 845-490-3864. Marketing is the back bone to increasing revenue and profits.
