MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT : PERIOD FROM 21 JUL 20 TO 20 AUG 20

1. Conduct of Online Classes. All the classes have been migrated to Microsoft

Teams App. Earlier classes I to VIII were on Jio Meet due to non-availability of requisite

band width and other necessary features, the app was changed. 2. Conduct of UT-1 Exams. Online UT-1 exams for classes III to X & XII were

successfully conducted online via Google form with a planned time table from 4 - 10 Aug 20. 95% Of the students appeared in the exams, for remaining 5% of the students who could not

appear in the exams due to connectivity issues. The exams were rescheduled from 17 Aug 20 to 22 Aug 20.

3. Independence Day Celebration : 15 August 2020. This year Army Public school

Jhansi ensured that the fervour of patriotism lives on and shifted the Independence Day

Celebration online. The program started with the live streaming of the flag hoisting by the principal Mrs Meenakshi Panjwani. Rest of the content was pre-recorded. The students

recorded their items under the guidance of the teachers in the safety of their homes. The recorded videos sent by the students were compiled by the IT Department and were broadcasted with live anchoring. The students participated wholeheartedly and proved that

„where there is a will, there is a way‟, even during the hard times of the COVID-19 Pandemic nothing can deter their determination and they would move ahead overcoming all hurdles. The students and the parents watched the live program via the link sent to them on Microsoft

Teams. The program culminated with the Principal‟s address and the vote of thanks given by Samya Katara followed by the school anthem.

4. Gandgi Mukt Bharat Campaign : 12 August to 14 August 2020. Honourable Prime

Minister Narendra Modi launched a week long campaign 'Gandagi Mukt Bharat’ to

make India free of garbage wef 8-15 August 2020. In the above context, APS Jhansi undertook various participatory activities for the entire week. The following activities were

carried out for the classes 6 to 12. An online Photography Competition, Painting Competition and Cleanliness Drive on the theme of „Clean and Green Bharat‟ was organised from

12-14 August 2020 for the classes 6 to 8. In addition to that, an Essay Competition based on the theme of Gandagi Mukt Mera Gaon and Cleanliness Drive was conducted for the students of classes 9 to 12 on 13 & 14 August 2020 respectively. The campaign aims to reaffirm

commitment towards building a cleaner and healthier future. The purpose of this drive was to motivate the children to aspire for a cleaner India by actively participating towards it. Students

from all the classes participated enthusiastically in the campaign. Best entries of paintings and essays were collected from all the classes. Students also shared the videos of cleaning and sanitizing of doors and frequently used areas of their house as a part of cleanliness drive.

5. Webinar on “Simplifying New Education Policy for Parents & Students”: 9 August 2020. A Webinar was conducted on 09 August 2020 by High School Moms,

a non-profitable organization by the most respected Principals from India‟s best schools. It was organized by Mr Abhishek Gupta, career counsellor, Times Education Icon. The guests

discussed about the impact of New Education Policy on the parents and the students, especially in board classes. It was a very interactive session where almost 800-900 students, parents and teachers from all over India participated.

6. TGT Maths Webinar : 4-7 August 2020. Mr Amrit Chaurasia and Mr Amit Kumar

have attended the FDRC Workshop for TGT Maths on various teaching strategies in Maths during the period 4 - 7 August 2020. Presenter were from APS Dhaula kuan and APS Pune. Opening and closing ceremony of the workshop was done by MD of AWES.

7. 15 August 2020. A Webinar on „Career Planning for High School Students‟ was

conducted on 15 August 2020 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm by High School Moms, a non-profitable organization. All the classes of 6 to 12 of APS, Jhansi were shared the link to gain

knowledge about the same. Mr Abhishek Gupta, career counsellor, Times Education Icon, was the guest speaker. He spoke about the importance of E.A.G.L.E approach towards

career planning while addressing the parents and the students. It was a very interactive session where almost 700-800 students, parents and teachers from all over India participated.

8. An Online Awareness Programme : 19 August 2020. An Online Awareness

Program on 'Physical Activity Trainer' was organised for the Principals and members of school management committee. The online program was conducted by CBSE in collaboration with Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skill Council (SPEFL-SC) on 19 August

2020 at 1:00 pm. The following persons were the speakers of the program:-

(a) Mr Tahsin Zahid, COO, SPEFL-SC. (b) Mr Sujit Panigrahifrom KHELO INDIA PROGRAM.

(c) Mr R P Singh, Jt. Secy (Skill Education, CBSE).

9. The main discussion of the Webinar was The Skill Development in Physical Education at Secondary Level & curriculum given, Fundamental Movements of Body Skills improved at

ground level (for Primary) for the development of Physical Fitness and Health of the student. All the queries and doubts were clarified by Mr. R.P. Singh. Mr Dr. Dev Prakash PGT

(Physical Education), Mr Ashok Singh, PTI, MR Shailesh Khare, PTI and Mrs Poornima Chauhan, PTI witnessed the webinar. 10. A Summit for Defence Exams : 14 & 15 August 2020. Unacademy organised a 2- Days Summit for Defence Exams Aspirants on 14 and 15 August, with dignitaries,

veterans and Top Unacademy Educators, who spoke live at the event. It was inaugurated by

honourable former Vice-President Shri Hamid Ansari. The free-to-attend summit had sessions by personalities like Retd General VP Malik, PVSM, AVSM, Lt Gen Asit Mistry, AVSM,

SM,VSM and Lt Gen HS Panag, PVSM, AVSM (Retired) who spoke about how to navigate the complexities of the exams with ease. All the classes of 6 to 12 of APS, Jhansi were shared the link to gain knowledge about the same.

11. Investiture Ceremony : 14 August 2020. The Investiture ceremony signifies the

reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. Every year the Investiture Ceremony was held in Army Public School Jhansi

with great pomp and show, the marching dri ll of the new office bearers and the swearing of the oath. But it seems that the lock down due to pandemic COVID-19 has failed to dampen

the zeal and enthusiasm of APS Jhansi. During the unprecedented crisis , the school resorted to the digital route to conduct the Investiture Ceremony, connecting the management, parents, staff and students online. It was conducted with the high degree of

earnestness and passion .Before the ceremony started, the Sashes and badges were sent to the new office bearers. The event was presided over by Mrs Meenakshi Panjwani, Principal,

APS Jhansi. It commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana, which signifies removal of darkness. Thereafter a welcome note was given by Mrs Rajni Verma. The new council members were asked to appear on the screen online . The parents

were instructed to do the honours by conferring the new council members with the sashes and badges, followed by the swearing of the oath. The students promised to take

responsibilities sincerely and with devotion and that they would take the institution to greater heights. After the oath taking ceremony, the Principal congratulated them and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. She also exhorted them to uphold

the values and reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve heights. She advised them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the students‟ council for the smooth running

of the school. The function concluded with the National Anthem.

5 12. Poster Making Competition : 24 July 2020. To commemorate Kargil Diwas,

a Poster Making Competition for classes 9 to 12 was held. Last entries were collected till 24 July 2020. Students were asked to scan or click pictures and send of the activity done.

Best entries were selected.

13 Rakhi Making Competition : 1 August 2020. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan,

Rakshi Making competition was conducted online for the students of classes 9 to 12 on 1 August 2020. Students were asked to use silk thread, wool and decorative craft material for the same. Best entries were selected from the Rakhis which were sent online.

14. Face Mask Making Competition : 19 August 2020. Face Mask Making Competition

was held on 19 August 2020. Students were instructed to make face mask using any soft clean cotton cloth available in their houses and decorate it. They were asked to wear the

mask, click a photograph and send it online. Best entries were selected by the Class teacher to be judged.

Co-Curricular Activities : Primary Wing

15. Rakhi Making Competition : 23 July 2020. Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion

to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister. To commemorate this

festival, this activity was organised for the primary wing (classes 1 to 5). Students made beautiful Rakhis using materials like threads, ribbons, waste material and enjoyed the activity.

16. Gandagi Mukt Bharat. On the occasion of “Gandagi Mukt Bharat” following activities

were organised for the primary students:- (a) Tree Plantation : 12 Aug 2020. The students for classes 1 to 5 planted a

sapling in their garden/ pot and clicked a picture of the activity which was sent with personal details to their class teachers. Thus creating an awareness that the

students can play a vital role in protecting and preserving the environment. (b) Speech & Poem Recitation : 14 Aug 2020. The students for classes 3 to 5

prepared a speech /poem recitation on the following topics :-

(i) Clean India Green India. (ii) Swatchh Bharat Mission.

17. The duration of the activity was one minute, it was recorded and sent to the class

teachers. A large number of entries were received. Three best entries were selected from each class.

18. Eid-ul-Adah’s Special Assembly : 31 July 20. A special assembly was conducted

at 8:30 a.m. for the school. Due to lockdown it was conducted on Zoom App. The concerned

class teachers had delivered a short speech and the hymn “lab pe ati hai dua...” was sung by the children during the assembly. 19. Raksha Bandhan Special Assembly : 3 August 2020. The chi ldren had witnessed

a small video based on Raksha Bandhan. They had sent their dance videos which their

classmates had watched on the Zoom App and a speech was delivered by the class teachers in their respective classes. The children had also made rakhis on this day.

20. Janmashtami Special Assembly : 12 August 2020. A speech was delivered by the

monitors and the prefects in their respective classes under the guidance of the concerned class teachers. A short talk was given by the class teacher explaining the relevance of the occasion. The students had performed a dance on “kanha so ja jara” which was shown on

Zoom App and MS Team.A song link from Youtube “meethi meethi merey sawariya ki bansi....” was shared for the children to listen.

21. Primary Wing Investiture Ceremony : 15 August 2020. Primary wing conducted

the investiture ceremony was conducted on Independence Day. The following office bearers were selected:-

(a) Ranveer Bhardwaj (class-5D - Head Boy

(b) Tejasvi Pandey (class-5E) - Head Girl 22. In alliance with the COVID-19 norms, the pining in ceremony was conducted at the

students homes with the help of their proud parents, the photographs of the ceremony were shared with the entire school via the official class Whatsapp groups.
