Mike Morgan Motivation & FB Mike Morgan, a presenter for Proactive Coaching, is the head football coach and teaches 5-12 instrumental music at Colfax High in Colfax, WA, where he has also served as AD, vice principal and principal. Morgan has numerous COY awards and is the winningest foot- ball coach in Colfax history. Morgan's football teams have 13 playoff appearances, a 2001 State Title, 2 second-place finishes and 3 semi-final appearances. For the past 34 years Mike has coached a variety of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming and track and field. Creating a Mission Statement for your Team” Jeff Choate Football In 2015 Choate became Mon- tana State’s 32nd head football coach. The 2019 team’s 11 wins is the most by any Bobcat team other than the two NCAA Championship teams. The bedrock of Choate’s career has remained the same since his days as a student-assistant coach at UM Western during the 1992 and ’93 seasons. “I’ve always considered myself a teacher first,” he says. “It’s the cornerstone of what we do as coaches.” Montana State finished Cho- ate’s first season 4-7, improved to 5-6 in 2017, and advanced to the second round of the FCS Playoffs in 2018 at 8-5. In 2019, the Bobcats advanced to the FCS Semifinals for the first time since 1984 and finished 11-4. His 28 career wins at MSU (his record is 28-22) is already tied for ninth in program history. Phil Olsen FCA Breakfast Phil is president of, "Know Your Strengths", a human resource consulting firm. His competitive drive was forged in the fire of athletic com- petition. He was a two-time football All-American at Utah State Univer- sity, an NFL first-round draft choice and a 9-year pro football veteran. Phil was inducted into the Sports HOF in the State of Utah in 1985. He is a member of the Utah State HOF and also of USU’s All-Century Team. In 2000, Phil was selected by Sports Illustrated as one of the Top Fifty Athletes of the Century from the State of Utah. In 2003-2007 and again in 2011, he was selected to the final list of candidates for the NCAA College Football HOF. Phil has long been involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes since his playing days in Los Angles. He is currently consulting with Montana FCA. David Martin Suicide Prevention David Martin recently joined the Jason Foundation after serving 45 years in education and coach- ing. Martin was inducted into the Tennessee Football Coaches HOF in 2017. The Jason Foundation, Inc. (JFI) was founded in 1997, after the tragic suicide of JFI’s President Clark Flatt’s youngest son Jason. JFI has never charged for their services, assuring that cost is never a deciding factor of who can receive these life-changing/ life-saving programs and resources. ATAVUS ATAVUS educates coaches to teach a safe high-performance tackling technique. Resources such as drill videos, practice plans, coaching tips and practical how-to advice are designed to give high school coaches the tools needed to increase player safety and improve performance. Tricia Binford Basketball When Tricia Binford took over the MSU women’s basketball pro- gram in 2005, she inherited a program in search of stability and someone to guide the Bobcats back to the upper echelons of the Big Sky Conference. Now, 15 years later, the former Boise State and WNBA standout is MSU’s longest tenured coach as well as its winningest in history with an unprecedented level of excellence on the court, in the classroom and within the community. For 13 years, Binford has had winning seasons, a stretch that ranks No. 1 in the annals of Bobcat women's basketball. The Cats have won 54 of its last 62 games inside the friendly confines of the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, which includes Montana State's stretch of 31 consecutive home court wins (Dec. 2015 - Jan. 2018) that ranked second only to national power UConn at the time the streak was snapped. The 2019-20 Lady Bobcats finished 19-1, winning the Big Sky and setting a record for conference wins. Kent Paulson AD Kent Paulson has served the past 11 years as the Commis- sioner of the Frontier Conference and is completing his 47th year in secondary and higher education. This includes teaching/coaching in the Great Falls Public Schools system for 20 years, 2 years as the guidance counselor in Troy, and finishing his secondary education career in administration at Whitefish for 14 years. Kent is a graduate of Outlook High School and Western Montana College. Kent has an extensive connec- tion to the MCA Clinic as he served 20 years on the clinic committee while coaching in Great Falls. This connection continues as the Frontier Conference works closely with the MCA in sponsoring clinic events, providing MCA Clinic speakers and proudly presenting two MCA schol- arships. Daniel Jones Volleyball Jones completed his 3rd sea- son at MSU, leading the program to heights not seen in many years. The 2018 and 2019 Lady Bob- cats advanced to the Big Sky Conference Tournament, in 2019 making the semi-finals. The Cat’s 2018 Big Sky Tournament appear- ance was their first since 2012. A native of New Zealand, Jones previously served as an assistant USA A2 Volleyball Coach.Topic: "Culture Development" Moe Boyle Volleyball Boyle became the head coach of the Fighting Saints volleyball team in 2005. In 2019, the Saints went 16-13, with a trip to the Frontier Conference Tournament semifinals. In her 14 seasons as head coach at Carroll, the volleyball program has accumulated a 256- 159 record, making it to the NAIA Regional Tournament in both 2005 and 2006 and the national tourna- ment in 2012 and 2016. Prior to coaching at Carroll, Coach Boyle spent 5 years each at Helena Capital and Flathead. Steve Komac Wrestling Steve Komac was named In- terim Head Wrestling Coach at UP in 2019. Steve comes from a very successful 25-year coaching career with the past 19 seasons at Great Falls High. Komac’s GFHS squads won Titles in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He also has two runner-up and three 3rd place finishes. Coach Komac has coached 39 State Champions, including two from Browning, where he spent the first 6 years of his ca- reer. He has been voted MCA COY 3 times and has been a COY finalist 11 times and he was a National COY Finalist in 2017. Kristin McWilliams XC & Distance Kristin McWilliams has coached Boys and Girls Cross Country and Track and Field for 19 years, the past 11 at Winter Park High (FL). Her teams won 4A State Girls’ Cross Country Championships in 2017, 2015 and 2014 and 4A State Cross Country Girls’ Runner Up in 2016 and 2013, 4A Track and Field Girls’ State Runner up in 2018 and 1A Boys’ Cross Country State Runner Up in 2005. Kristin coached 9 Individual State Champions, 5 Relay State Champs, 2 Footlocker National Finalists, the State Mile record holder and a 2-time Nike Cross Nationals Finalist. She was named 2015 National Girls’ Cross Country COY by the National Federation High School Association and a top-8 Finalist for 2017-18 National Girls’ Cross Country COY for the National High School Coaches Association. The Director of Tennis at Sil- ver Creek Valley Country Club, Ken is one of only 10 PTR and USPTA Master Professionals as well as an international tennis speaker. Ken is a 2x PTR International and a 4x USPTA Divisional “Pro of the Year” and a 3x USPTA Career Development Award Winner. Still active in the sport, Ken is both the Singles and Doubles Champion PTR International Men’s 65, rank- ing in the top 5 in PTR & USPTA for the past 10 years. He is a contributing writer for “Tennis”, “TennisView”, “TennisPro” and “ADDvantage” magazines; has produced 8 outstanding DVD’s for tennis instruction and is the co- author of, The International Book of Drills. Topics: "Drills and Games for Strategy and Tactics" and "Error detection and Correction" Dustin Cichosz Track and Field Dustin Cichosz is beginning his 3rd year at MSU. As a former Bobcat, he earned multiple Big Sky all-conference performances in the jumps and sits 3rd all-time in the triple jump for MSU. Dustin previously coached 8 years at Manhattan High, helping the Tiger boys' team to 5 con- secutive state titles. He has coached multiple all-state and all-conference athletes. Cichosz is a native of Belfry. Titles: The Jumps: HJ, LJ & TJ Dan West Track and Field Coach West was a 4-year track letterman at Montana State Univer- sity. He returned to MSU to coach from 1979-87 where he had multiple Big Sky Champions and school re- cord holders. He is in his second stint with the LCC Titan program, having coached at the University of Oregon from 1990-96, and is now entering his 43rd year of coaching. Dan coached Britain’s top vaulter during the 1991 World Championships to a 13th place finish and again for the 1992 Barce- lona Olympics. He has coached his Lane vaulters to 23 school records, by 16 different athletes, 24 NWAC champions and 56 All-Americans. Dan is now the Northwest team salesman for On Track. Topics: “Pole Vault Technique vs Styles, how to maximize your coaching efforts” & “Understanding design, function and manufacture of discus, javelin and vaulting poles” Regan Quaal S&C In 2019, Regan Quaal joined UP as S&C coach, working with Wrestling, Hockey and Softball. Jeff Choate Football

Steve KellerBasketball

A 4x Frontier Conference COY and 2005 MCA HOF inductee, Keller became the head men’s basketball coach at UP in 2018; now with a 2-year 40-21 record and a 2020 #4 seed to the NAIA national tourna-ment. Prior to UP, Keller served 11 seasons with the UM Western men’s program, averaging twenty wins per season. His Bulldogs compiled a 231-124 record while winning 3 Frontier Conference titles as well as qualifying for the NAIA eight times.

Keller is a 38-year Montana coaching veteran, winning 3 Girls' Class C Championships at Opheim before taking over the Helena girl's program and leading the Lady Bengals to 3 AA State Titles.

He has coached the MT team in the MT-WY All-Star basketball series since 2012 with a 16-0 record. Topic: “Ball Screens”

Josh StewartBasketball

Josh had a phenomenal inau-gural season as the head coach of the State Co-Champion Lodge Grass Indians.

Stewart attended Valor Chris-tian College in Ohio and later attended Ohio Christian Univer-sity. While in college, Stewart played for the men's basketball programs.

Returning to MT, Stewart as-sisted area coaches with skill de-velopment and practices. In 1999, he graduated from Tongue River High School in Dayton, WY, where he excelled in basketball and track.

Kris GossAD

Kris Goss serves as Director of Policy Services/Senior Counsel with the Montana School Boards Association. Kris works to assist public school districts in implement-ing accessible policies to ensure effective school governance and as an attorney representing the interests of member public school districts. Kris has worked on behalf of school districts with MTSBA since 2009. Topic: Legal Challenges for AD’s and Coaches”

Katie Garcin-ForbaBasketball

Katie, a two year head mentor, joined the Capital staff in 2010 and as head coach, her Lady Bruins have won back to back Western AA division titles. In 2019 the Bruins finished 4th place at state, and were named State Co-Champions in 2020, finishing with a 22-1 record. The Bruins have compiled a 43-5 record over the past two seasons. Katie has been a nominee for Coach of the Year both years as head coach.

A Hellgate High School alum, Jeff, has been the head boys’ bas-ketball coach at Hellgate for the past 10 seasons. Prior to Hellgate he was the head mentor for 2 seasons at North Eugene (OR) High School. At Hellgate his teams have placed in the top three at state 8 times (2 championships, 2 runner-ups) and in the top 3 of the Western AA 9 times. Topic: “Drills to Improve Fun-damentals and Toughness”

Alan CressTrack and FieldIn Cress's 7 seasons with the

Argos, his men’s and women’s athletes have broken the indoor shot put and weight throw records 15 times and the outdoor shot put, discus, hammer and javelin records 28 times. 19 throws athletes have qualified for the NAIA National T&F Championships, with the men’s javelin throwers in 2014 and 2017 reaching All-American Honors.

Cress was a 3-year letter-winner in track at Emporia (Kan.) State University. He has won Na-tional Championships in the throws pentathlon (2X) and the discus (1X), along with numerous Regional and State titles as a USA Masters track and field competitor. Cress is also a member of the: National Throws Coaches Association, USA Track and Field – Montana Association (VP), and the Montana Coaches Association. Topics: Shot, Discus and Javelin

Shannon FlynnTrack and FieldShannon Flynn became the

Carroll College cross country and track and field distance coach in the summer of 2019. A native of Townsend, Shannon played basketball and volleyball for three years at Carroll and basketball her fourth year. After shifting to running for her fifth year, she qualified for na-tionals in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and became an All-American in the 800-meter run during the indoor season.

Prior to Carroll, Flynn taught and coached middle school and high school for six years in Montana. She then assisted distance runners at the University of Montana for two years while completing her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. Topics: 800 & 1600

Rob StantonTrack and FieldCoach Stanton star ted his

career under the tutelage of Miles City HOF Coach, John Polich. In his 17 years as head track & field coach for Billings West, his track and field teams have won 13 divisional championships and 23 state tro-phies, including 2 girls’ and 7 boys’ state titles. Stanton’s relay teams have won several titles. In 2009, his boys’ 4x100 set an all-state record at 41.48 and his 2018 girls’ team set an all-state record at 47.56. Rob is also the head football coach and led his team to a state championship in 2018. Topic: “Life of a Head Coach and Relays”

Susan LoefflerTrack and FieldSusan is beginning her 46th

year at Bigfork High as their head Girls’ Track and Field coach. She has been nominated for MCA Coach of the Year 13 times and selected as Girls’ T&F COY 3 times. Coach Himmelberg begins his 11th season as the head coach at the University of Providence, and has been a fixture at both the University of Providence and the Great Falls community for decades. Under Himmelberg’s leadership, the 2019-20 Lady Argos made an unprecedented post season run, winning the Frontier Conference Championship and qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament for the second straight year. During his tenure, the Lady Argos have a school record 169 wins, have broken more than 26 school records and have made 4 appearances at the NAIA National Tournament. Josh Keller, 6-year head boys’ basketball coach at Twin Bridges High, recently led his Falcons to a 2019-20 Montana Class C top-4 finish and raised his overall boys’ re-cord to 122-29. Josh also spent 2 of those years as head girls’ coach as well with a 51-5 record, bringing his 6-year overall record to 173-34. His girls’ teams had two top-4 finishes.

Harry Cheff has 26 years of ex-perience, working in public schools as teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. He has been with the MSGIA (MT School Group Insur-ance Authority) since 2010, as risk manager for our member schools. He holds both a Bachelor and Masters’ degree in Education from Montana State University. Harry holds a certification as a Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) and as a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI). Harry is a gradu-ate of Columbia Falls High School. Coach Tait is entering his 11th season as the head coach of the Miles Community College Pioneers, after taking over the program half-way through the 2008-2009 year. In 2012 Tait earned Region IX COY honors and the Pioneers also finished with a 14-0 home record while averaging 89 points per game which ranked them 7th in the nation. The Pioneers again qualified for the Region IX Final 4 in 2015-16. His 2019 team was 5th in NJCAA in 3 pointers with 2 players in the top 10 (makes & %). Topic: “Perspective”

Jeff has been the head girls' basketball coach at Belt since 2007-08. His excellent record includes playing for the chipper 7 times, winning the state title 6 of the last 9 years and finishes of 2nd, two 3rds and two 4ths. Graham's Huskies also boast 11 district and 7 divisional crowns. Jeff's football teams have won 4 divisional titles and his track teams have notched 7. Todd Carver, SFCAD

Sergeant First Class Todd Carver is currently the Marketing and Education Specialist for the Montana Army National Guard (MTARNG). Carver joined the MTARNG after graduating from Malta High School in 1992 and MSU-B in 1997. Carver has taught H&PE and coached football and wrestling in MT and AZ. In 2004 Todd entered the Active Guard and Reserve program for the MTARNG. Todd is and MOA official in both football and wrestling. Carver will talk about ways the marketing and educational department can assist Montana high schools in classroom instruction as well as outdoor and gym classes. Testing speed, agility and strength for sports and “Shop Tours” which include aviation, me-chanical and equipment training opportunities, will also be discussed.

Cindy Farmer Basketball

Cindy has 35 years of bas-ketball coaching experience, the last 20 at her present position at Hardin High School. During her tenure she led the Lady Bulldogs to four consecutive State Class A title games and crowned State Co-Champions in the COVID-shortened 2020 State Tournament. Her record during these past four years was 82-13. She has been nominated 4 times for Class A MCA COY, winning it this year. Cindy also coaches the boys & girls XC teams at Hardin where the girls just won their 4th consecutive Class A State championship. Her topics include “Building a Tradition” & “Practice Planning”. Andrew is the head boys’ bas-ketball coach at Hardin High. He has coached for 9 years, starting as an assistant to his wife’s junior high team as well as the varsity as-sistant at Northern Cheyenne. After one year he took the freshman job at Hardin and spent 4 years as an assistant before being offered the head position. Since taking the reins of the Bulldog program, his team has made 5 consecutive state appearances, winning it all in in 2018, avenging their only loss of the season by downing Billings Central - a team they had played twice before, resulting in an incredible 5 overtimes. Barry Sacks Football

Montana alum Barry Sacks brings more than 30 years of coach-ing experience to the 2019 Grizzlies in his second season as the defen-sive line coach under Bobby Hauck.

He returned to his alma mater in 2018 after one season as the defensive coordinator at Humboldt State. Before that, he spent 18 seasons coaching at the FBS level in the Mountain West Conference, the Pac-12 Conference and for the San Jose Sabercats of the AFL. He also helped coach Boise State to the 1994 D1-AA national champion-ship game.

Sacks was a four-year letter-man at UM who played linebacker from 1976-79 and was known as one of the team’s hardest hitters.

Jeff has headed up the Clark Fork (Superior/Alberton) football squad for the past 5 years and was an assistant for Superior the previous 6 years (2 State Champion-ships). His Mountain Cats finished an exciting 2019 season as 8-man State Runners-up, their second consecutive year in the playoffs. Coach Schultz is also the head girls’ basketball coach. Craig Lunde, head football mentor at Wibaux High School, will be starting his 31st year as a teacher/coach this fall. In 2020 Russell McCarvel will begin his 3rd season as an Assistant Coach with the Blue Hawks. He has helped Dickinson State win the North Star Conference Champion-ship and averaged over 35 points in both of his seasons. In 2018 the Blue Hawks won their first ever road playoff game and finished with a #8 National Ranking.

Coach Utter is in his 8th year as head football coach at Eureka (Lin-coln Co). There were many growing pains, but his efforts and persis-tence paid off in 2016 when the Lions won their first gridiron champi-onship in school history. In 2017 the Lions repeated with an undefeated championship, took a year to rebuild and won it again in 2019, resulting in Class B championships three out of the last four years. Prior to being a Blue Hawk, Thi-er spent four seasons as the Defen-sive Coordinator for the University of Mary, being promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2017. In 2019, Goode completed his 7th season in as the Defensive Coordinator for Montana Western, and his 8th season overall. In 2014, Goode's second year as the Defensive Coordinator, the Bulldog defense finished No. 3 in the Fron-tier Conference surrendering only 26.7 points per game and allowing 380 yards per game. Goode also served as the linebacker coach. 2013 was Goode's first season as the Defensive Coordinator at Montana Western. Levi has coached at Bozeman High for 13 years and served as head Football coach the past 4 seasons. He helped lead the Hawk State Champion teams in 2010, 2013 and 2015 and was the head mentor for the 2019 State Champi-ons. Mike Ludwig has been the head football coach at Laurel since 2002. The Locomotives have made the playoffs 13 times, with 11 straight appearances since 2009. They have played in 3 state semi-finals, and 2 state championships winning in 2002, and runner-up in 2019. A Laurel High Alumni and graduate of Rocky Mountain Col-lege, Mike has been involved in football for 27 years. He also has been a long time assistant Track & Field coach. Coach Melby has been the head wrestling mentor at Sidney for 34 years. His teams have 578 dual wins, 24 divisional titles and 11 State Championships, along with 8 sec-onds and 4 thirds. Guy has coached 303 state placers and 78 state cham-pions. He has 11 MCA COY Awards and was NHSACA National COY. Other awards include AAU National Coaches HOF and Lifetime Achieve-ment Award, Western Montana Col-lege HOF and MHSA HOF. Guy was inducted into the MCA HOF in 2010. Luis Carranza Wrestling

Carranza, a “late” starter to the sport in 8th grade, learned quick what it takes to be a wrestler. Finished high school career with a 2nd place finish at the Idaho High School State tournament before go-ing to wrestle at Northwest College in Powell, WY and then transferring to the University of Great Falls. Luis began his coaching career at Great Falls High School in 2012-13, under the mentorship of coaching great, Steve Komac. Jory recently finished his 6th season at Glasgow High School leading the Scotties to their 13th State Championship in school his-tory. His teams have also finished 2nd in 2019 and 3rd in 2018. Jory began his coaching career at Shep-herd HS (2 seasons) and Laurel HS (4 seasons) before returning to his Alma Mater, Glasgow HS. Jory has spent numerous years as a youth coach and is the current Freestyle Chairman for MT AAU Wrestling. Jory wrestled collegiately for Uni-versity of Mary and Western MT College. Since taking the reins of the program, Duda has guided the Argonauts to 286 wins and ten win-ning seasons, including six 20-win campaigns. He has twice won the University Staff Meritorious Award and was the 2017-2018 Frontier Conference NAIA Coach of Charac-ter award winner. Coach Duda has also twice been named the Frontier Conference Coach of the Year.

The Argos finished 25-5 in 2019, winning the Frontier Confer-ence Championship and earning the program's second bid to the NAIA National Tournament.

Rebecca ClevelandVolleyball

Rebecca has been head mentor at Capital since 2016 with her Lady Bruins earning 3rd place honors in 2017 and back to back AA Cham-pionships in 2018 & '19. Her team achieved the program’s first state championship since 2002, finishing their 2018 season with 28-2 record. The Bruins surpassed this previous year’s success with a perfect record of 32-0 for the 2019 season.

Recognized as Montana’s AA COY in 2018 & 19, Cleveland hails from San Diego and was a member of the 1994 Lady Griz Hall of Cham-pions Volleyball team. "#Killin' It - hit-ting drills for improved efficiency"

Paty FigueiredoVolleyball

Paty Figueiredo enters her second year as assistant volleyball coach at MSU-Northern. In 2005, she played for Brazil's Junior Na-tional team and won Gold medal in the Beach Volleyball Games in Luanda, Angola. Paty also won Gold in the XV South American volleyball championships.

In 2009, Paty was named to the NJCAA Division I Women's All-American team and Elected to the (AVCA) Two-Year College All-American team. Her team made the Final Four Championships in San Antonio, Texas. Figueiredo was as-sistant Volleyball Coach at University of Texas at El Paso from 2016-18. Topics: “Setting” and “Ball Handling”

Cole Aiazzi Volleyball

Cole Aiazzi has completed 3 seasons as assistant coach at Montana State. Prior to joining the Bobcat staff, he spent the 2016 season contributing to a Big Ten Conference Championship winning season and Final Four appearance at the University of Nebraska. Cole is responsible for player develop-ment, practice planning, generating scouting reports and coordinating the defensive game plans.

Jill has been the varsity vol-leyball coach at Manhattan Christian High School for the past 16 years. She has 26 years of combined coaching experience in Florida, Montana, and Idaho. Her teams have made state appearances nine of the past twelve years including state championships in 2011 and 2019 and 2 runner-up finishes. Iona StookeyVolleyball

Iona Stookey has 34 years of coaching volleyball experience, with the last 30 years as the head volleyball coach at Huntley Project. Her Lady Red Devils have 16 District titles, 16 Divisional titles, and 12 State Championships. She has earned 836 wins in her career. Iona was selected the MCA COY 12 times and has been a National Federation COY nominee 4 times. She was also selected as the Big Sky State Games National Female Athlete of the Year in 2010. Izzi is a sports medicine as-sociate for the Billings Clinic and the new NSCA State Director and coordinator of the MCA Strength and Conditioning and Sports Medi-cine sessions.

She grew up in Washington state where she had a decorated 4-year career and went on to play collegiate soccer on the east coast. Izzi found her way to RMC, where she majored in HHP- exercise science and then worked for Nike in Southern California as a sports performance coach. Her work experience includes a variety of settings, including the Pac 12, NCAA division 1AA and NCAA DII. Topics: “Foundation of Coaching Lifts - weight room” & “More Efficient Warmups”

Dr. Matury has presented at the MCA Clinic for many years and is always well received. He is a Purdue graduate and completed his chiropractic training at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1989. He practiced in Indiana until moving to Montana in 2005. His practice emphasis includes soft tissue injury and repetitive strain disorders. Prior patients include two Mr. USA body building champions, a national power lifting champion, and vari-ous other NCAA athletes. Matury is certified in Functional Movement Screening which is used by athletes at all levels for injury prevention

The Montana Athletic Trainers’ Association (MTATA) is the profes-sional association for athletic train-ers in MT. MTATA directly serves its members by advancing, improving and promoting the profession of athletic training, serving the people of Montana through its commit-ment to advancing the health care provided by athletic trainers. MTATA is composed of board certified and state licensed Athletic Trainers. The presentation will be by a variety of ATs from around the state that share quick tips and tricks from identify-ing life threatening emergencies and the first things to do, to tape or quick wrap techniques. Hands on session and lots of discussion.

Michael WalzSwimming

Mike has been involved in coaching kids in one fashion or another for 35 years. For the past 8 years he has coached swimming in the Billing High Schools and has been the head swim coach at Skyview the past 4 years. Mike has worked hard to bring swim session to the MCA Clinic. Ed McNameeSwimming

Ed McNamee completed his 16th season as the head swim coach for GFH & CMR under the motto of “4 Teams 1 Family”. In his tenure, the program has thrived in participation carrying between 80-100 swimmers among the four teams. In 14 of his 16 years, at least one team has placed in the top-3 while winning six state cham-pionships: 5 with the Lady Rustlers and 1 with the Rustler men. In 2020 the GFHS men placed 3rd and the Rustler men claimed their sec-ond consecutive runner-up trophy. John O'Dell has coached girls’ tennis for 23 years and the last 20 at Broadwater County High in Townsend. John is one of the most successful and respected Tennis coaches in the state. During his tenure at Broadwater O'Dell's teams have been in the top three 7 times, with four state championships, 2 runner-up finishes and a third place. Gary McManusGolf

Now retired, Gary taught for 39 years at Montana School for the Deaf and Blind and coached for 41 years. Honors received: Teacher of the Year (1977, 1999), Basketball COY (2004). Inducted into HOF: Northwest Athletic Association of the Deaf which includes 7 states and Canada (2002), MSDB HOF (2012); Special Olympics HOF (2014). Governor's Award (2011). Coached golf for 4 years at Great Falls Central Catholic High (2010-2014): Four individuals placing in top 15 at state and placed top 3 as a team in several tournaments. Topic: “Improving the short game” Chipping and putting is 83% of golfing. We will practice many ways to chip onto a green from varied distances. We will putt from different areas on the green. Come and have some fun learning as we challenge one another.

Shawna Juarez Softball

Shawna is the head softball coach for the Miles Community Col-lege 2020 inaugural season. Before Miles City, Coach Juarez coached in the NWAC as the head coach at Walla Walla Community College and before that at Edmonds Com-munity College.

Prior to her arrival at Edmonds Community College, the Tritons experienced a one hundred game losing streak. In 2014, under Juarez's mentorship, the Lady Tritons finished just one game away from the NWAC Championships.

Juarez has also coached in the club softball scene and has been a par t of five nationally ranked gold softball teams. Topics: “Team Chemistry” & “The Mind of the Athlete”

Jessica Campbell Softball

Jessie is the pitching coach for the Miles Community College softball team. Before taking this po-sition, she volunteered as a pitching coach for the Colstrip Fillies (2019) and the Miles City Cowgirls (2015-2018). Previously, Jessie attended Hardin High School, where she played for the Bulldogs from 2008-2011 and received all state honors 2x as a pitcher. Jamie has served 20 years as cheer coach at Great Falls Central, where she is also the AD. Her unique job description gives her valuable insight for cheer coaches. She has been the cheer coach for the E-W Shrine Game 6 times, an MHSA Spirit Committee board member since 2007, MCA Cheer COY in 2014-15 and certified AACCA for 6 years. She was honored in 2011 as the MCA Cheer COY and has been a 4-time nominee and a 3-time finalist for the NHSACA Cheer COY. Youth Sports Safety

The Montana Youth Sports Safe-ty Institute (MYSSI) was founded in 2019 by athletic trainers Dustin Burton, Paul Capp, Lexie Davis, and Valerie Moody, who have worked tirelessly in Montana to keep kids safe and active in sports. The MYSSI formalizes their work to promote safety in youth sports across Mon-tana, protect youth sports athletes from injury, and to provide education and services to parents, coaches, athletes and other medical profes-sionals to support safety in sport. Cameron has been coaching for 9 years at Skyview where has served as a volunteer for both the boys’ and girls’ team, coached the JV girls and been head coach for both programs. The last four years he has been the Varsity girls’ coach. During this time, the girls have reached the semi-finals three times, the cham-pionship game twice and have won one state title. Cameron was named the United Soccer Coach associa-tion MT COY for girls in 2018 and has coached the MT East Women's team at the Shodair All Star game in 2018 and 2019. Along with coaching the soccer programs, Cameron also was the head throws coach for the track team for four years and has aided in the summer conditioning program for the last six years. COLLEGE CREDIT: Two semester units of non-degree, Professional Development Credit will be offered by the Montana Western. Courses are for students who have baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching cre-dentials. Credit tuition is in addition to clinic fees. Cost is $115 for one credit or $145 for two credits. Required written assignments due by email Aug.10th. Registration to be completed at clinic with payment by MasterCard, VISA, Discover Card, or personal check. OPI RENEWAL UNITS: This year 19 OPI Renewal Units are available at no extra charge. Verified attendance at clinic sessions is required. EITHER COLLEGE CREDIT OR OPI (NOT bOTH).

ALTERNATE PIR TIME: Montana registrants may be able to take advantage of this option. To do so, your school must list the MCA Clinic as an acceptable activity in their request for PIR days.

THURSDAY: MCA AWARDS CEREMONY, 11:30 AM in the Audito-rium: MCA HOF Inductions, COY Awards, Longevity & Service Awards, bozeman Trophy Outstanding Contributor Award, Honorary Member-ships, NHSACA and MCA Awards will be presented. PLEASE ATTEND TO HONOR YOUR PEERS. Lunch to follow in the Cafeteria.
