RECENT DEAL HIGHLIGHTS
■ Acting for the Asian Development Bank as an adviser to the Government of Mongolia on the development and financing of a 450MW greenfield combined heat and power project in Mongolia, including advising on project structure, drafting all the project documents and assisting with the soliciting of bids from international bidders.
■ Acting for a multilateral development bank on the initial due diligence for a greenfield power project including advising on the regulatory position and providing structuring advice.
■ Advising on a US$40 million loan from a multilateral bank to a Mongolian conglomerate.
■ Advising an international accountancy firm on Mongolian tax and employment matters.
■ Advising the sponsors and project company (Clean Energy LLC, part of the Newcom Group) on all aspects of the development and project financing of a 50MW wind farm project in Mongolia, including assisting the project company in securing US$85 million in loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) for the project. The wind farm was completed in 2012.
■ Advising a Mongolian airline on its acquisition of aircraft and associated financing.
■ Advising a sovereign wealth fund on its investments in a major Mongolian financial institution.
