Read through the coaching notes and work out a plan and routine to help your daughter learn her

number bonds to 20. Print out the flash cards and start verbally with the cards and games, and

when you start asking her to learn the number bonds make sure you revise previous sums to ensure

they are going into her long-term memory. And before starting the worksheets, have a warm up

session. Use the flash cards or play a quick game.

Monday Calculate

Because this work should be revision, I’ve given her some doubling to do over the first few days.

Then move on to adding 9, explaining the technique the first day and then practising it with

different sums over the next few days.

While she is learning these number bonds we can test how she is at the times tables she would have

learnt last year.

these questions demand knowledge of times tables your daughter may not know yet she will have

been expected to answer questions like these in her Year 2 SATs, using diagrams and sharing.
