Lillian Einrem SPRINGFIELD — The funeral service for Lillian A. Einrem, 86 of Springfield will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the United Church of Christ in Springfield, with burial in the Springfield Ceme- tery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 Monday at the Crosby-Jaeger Fu- neral Home in Springfield and resume Tuesday morning from 10 to noon. Lillian Ameala Einrem, daugh- ter of Nick and Clara (Baxter) Wynia, was born January 14, 1926 on a farm in the Norwegian Hills at Springfield, SD. She died Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyn- dall. Lil attained the age of 86 years, six months and 21 days. Lil attended Valley View Coun- try School through the eighth grade and graduated from Springfield High School in 1945. She attended Southern Normal for six months and earned her teaching certificate. She taught at Valley View and Running Water Country Schools and substituted at others. Lil married Walter Einrem on December 28, 1946. Five children were blessed to their union. Be- sides raising her own family, she and Walt helped raise lots of other children. Lil worked at Lil’s Cafe and as a cook for many years at USD/S and the Mike Dur- fee Prison. In 1991, Lil was bitten by a spider and then suffered a severe stroke. She was a fighter and worked hard to not let this stop her. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Lil entered the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall on June 6, 2012. Lil will be remembered for her enjoyment of bowling and doing crossword puzzles. She was an excellent cook and had an amaz- ing ability for putting babies down to sleep. Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Walter of Springfield; children: James of Verdigree, NE; Jerry (died No- vember 5, 2002) and wife Debbie of Springfield; Jan Hammond of Springfield; Jeff and wife Nicole of Tabor; and Jack and wife Susan of Hastings, NE; 13 grand- children; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Betty) of Spring- field; sisters-in-law: MaryLou (Ray) Livingston of Yankton and Marcleen Wynia of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Rucktaeschel, son of Clarence and Evelyn (Pickett) Rucktaeschel, was born April 17, 1938 at Wabasso, MN. He died unexpectedly Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Duane attained the age of 74 years, three months and 18 days. Duane attended grade school through the eighth grade at Wabasso Public School and then worked for area farmers. He mar- ried Evelyn Nelson on January 12, 1957 at Milroy, MN. Three children were born to this union: Rocky, Roxan and Richie. Duane worked many different jobs in Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska. From 2010 to the present, he was employed at the Wagner Community School. Duane married Mary Ann Seiner on August 11, 1989 at Tyn- dall. Two daughters were born to this union: Kala and Kari. He was looking so forward to walking his daughter Kala down the aisle later this month. Duane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, North American Hunting Club and the NRA. He will be remembered for his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, gardening vegetables and his over-use of duct tape. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Every morn- ing he enjoyed having coffee and cookies with his dogs, Chloe and Ella. He served in the Korean War receiving the Korean Serv- ice Medal with 3 bronze Service Stars and was a member of the 2nd Armored Division Hell on Wheels. Steve was a proud life- time member of the Ernest- Bowyer VFW #791 and a member of the Kooties. He married Christine Sieler of Yankton on January 8, 1952 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and lived happily together for 60 years. Steve had many hobbies of his most enjoyable was his love of gardening. He took great pride in his yard and over the years he received numerous Yard of the Month awards. He was an avid fisherman and en- joyed many hours at the lake. Also he loved animals and was a great horseman. Steve loved to play pinochle with his partner, his grandson Aaron Cummins. He volunteered his time doing yard work at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Steve worked at Moore’s Candy as a delivery person, the Freeman Company, and Sears Automotive Department. For 29 years, Steve was a plant opera- tor for Northwestern Public Service. Those who will cherish his memory are his wife, Christine of Yankton, SD; two daughters: Nancy (Trent) Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD and MaryAnn (Patrick) Cummins of O’Fallon, IL; a grandson, Aaron Cummins of O’Fallon, IL and a nephew, Frank Vellek. This tree came down on this rental house in the 700 block of Douglas Friday night, causing extensive damage to the rear of the house. According to the Yankton Fire Department, at least six people were displaced as the home was declared uninhabit- able due to structure damage. At least two occupants in the rear of the home narrowly escaped injury when the kitchen ceiling fell in around them. The Red Cross was called in to assist the family. Friday night’s storm in Yanktonbrought powerful winds that causedsome property damage. This treecame down on this rental house inthe 700 block of Douglas Fridaynight, causing extensive damage tothe rear of the house. According tothe Yankton Fire Department, atleast six people were displaced asthe home was declared uninhabit-able due to structure damage. Atleast two occupants in the rear ofthe home narrowly escaped injurywhen the kitchen ceiling fell inaround them. The Red Cross wascalled in to assist the family. Four Seasons Fabric, at 909Broadway in Yankton, is once againseeking entries for its annual River-boat Days Small Quilt Show.

Quilts entered should not ex-ceed 70 inches in any directionand only up to two entries will beaccepted per person. Quilts, Wallhangings, miniatures, purses,wearables and anything else in

the quilting medium will be ac-cepted.

This year’s Quilt Show will bethe 14th Riverboat Days showheld at Four Seasons Fabric. Eachyear, hundreds of people takingpart in the Riverboat Days festivi-ties enter the store to view andvote for their favorite quilt. TheQuilt Show will be on Friday, Aug.

17, and Saturday, Aug. 18, duringnormal store hours.

Prizes for this year’s show in-clude a new Bernina 330 SewingMachine (MSRP $1,399) to beawarded to one entrant of the quiltshow. There can only be one entryper person and you must enter anitem to be eligible. In addition, a“Viewer’s Choice” award will be

given as well as a small prize to allwho enter.

The Healing Touch CertificateProgram is a multi-level course ofstudy in energy-based therapy,complementary to health careand endorsed by the AmericanHolistic Nurses’ Association. HTIHealing Touch courses are opento all persons with an interest inhealing. This includes registerednurses, physicians, body thera-pists, counselors, chaplains, psy-chotherapists, healthprofessionals and individuals de-siring an understanding and prac-tice of healing work using energy

based concepts. Certification as aHealing Touch Practitioner is anappropriate goal for those whowish to establish a Healing Touchpractice or incorporate HealingTouch as a major focus within anexisting professional practice.

Healing Touch Level 2 is forstudents who have completedLevel 1.
