YEAR 5 – Selective High School Applications For 2020Reminder - Year 5 students wanting to apply for Selective High School in 2020. If you intend to apply please complete the form on our website and return to your class teacher by tomorrow, Friday 28th September. Notes and information have been added to the website. Applications open online 9th October and close on 12th November. You must apply before the closing date.

Year 3-6 User Pay Sport – Term 4Bookings online have closed for User Pay Sport, however, there are still some spots available in Tennis, Fitness Training/Bootcamp, Dance Fit & Boxing Fitness.

Kindergarten 2019We are currently planning enrolments for 2019. If you have a child starting Kindergarten in 2019, or know of friends or neighbours who are intending to enrol for 2019, please come in and enrol now. We kindly request all enrolments now, so that we can finalise our numbers and start planning classes.

The enrolment form can be downloaded from our website. Go to “Our School” and then click on the “Enrolment” Tab. To enrol you need to complete an enrolment form and provide original copies of birth certificate, proof of address (such as a rates notice or rental agreement) and immunisation documents. If you are permanent residents BUT are not Australian citizens you will need to provide original passport, travel or visa details.

Chess News

Awesome Chess NewsLast week for the first time, our Senior Chess Team reached the finals of the Sydney Academy of Chess Inter-School Challenge.

Well done to our team of Adam, Ben, Cooper, Gabe, Griff and Kai who achieved an amazing 2nd place in this team event!

Special mention to Gabe who achieved 6th place in the individual rankings – a fantastic achievement!

Most of our chess groups are currently full. However, there are two spaces in the beginners Thursday group which is suitable for Kindergarten and Year One students who would like to try out the wonderful game of chess!

If you would like your child to become involved please go to Notes and Forms/Chess on our school website, print off an application form and bring it to Mrs Bryce in Q block.

TERM DATES

Grandparents’/Grandfriends’ Day & Book Week Parade

Friday 26th October 2018 9am – 11.20am

Information for Parents Students will participate in a book week parade on Friday 26th October and dress as their favourite book character. Please make sure the costumes are comfortable and appropriate to wear all day at school or bring your uniform to change into after the parade. Students must be wearing closed in shoes. As students will be having recess with their Grandparents and friends, they might like to bring something extra special in their lunch box to share with them. Please note if Grandparents/friends intend to take students early from school, they will need a written note signed by the parents, and be signed out by the class teacher.

Information for Grandparents At 9:00am Grandparents and Friends arrive at Waratah Oval and get ready for the big book parade. Grandparents are welcome to get a hot beverage and morning tea from our lovely P&C volunteers under the bus shelter while the students are preparing for the parade. Please note this morning tea is only for our Grandparents/Grandfriends. For safety reasons the tea/coffee facilities will be packed up before the parade finishes.

There will be a parade with all students from Kindergarten to Year 6 parading in the costume of their favourite book character.

After the Parade, you are invited to visit your grandchild/grandfriend’s classroom to see some of their wonderful work.

Please remember that the Library is open and we would love you to visit and make a book donation.

Everyone will then be welcomed back to Waratah Oval to enjoy recess with their loved ones. Students that have grandparents/friends attending are welcome to bring in extra morning tea to share with them.
