Heavenly Father, Let us pray for the sick, the lonely, and the hungry, and let us make someone’s day happier by doing a kindness not expected. May we always willingly share our blessings with those in need. And now bless this food to our use and us to Your service. Amen

Jim Dunford’s Passing January 18th, 20ll
Mayport Middle School Builders Club
SPEAKERDr. Julie BuckleyDr. Julie Buckley
John Bates announced that our club member, Jim Dunford had passed
on January 18th.
Neil Powell spoke about membership development
Doug Hudson introduced our speaker
Dr. Buckley is a pediatrician whose daughter regressed into autism at 4 years of age, Dr. Buckley's practice is now primarily devoted to recovering children on the autism spectrum. She is the author of “Healing Our Autistic Children.” Dr. Buckley is now a frequent national and international speaker at leading autism conferences. In addition to training other physicians in autism treatment, she has developed a patented antioxidant formula for peri-vaccination and peri-oxidative stressor use. Dr. Buckley co-founded and is President of HEAL! (Healing Every Autistic Life!), a non-profit foundation dedicated to education about, awareness of, treatment for, research into, and prevention of autism spectrum disorders. Her office is located at 5270 Palm Valley Road • Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 • 904-543-1288 • [email protected]
Thank you , Dr. Buckley, for your very informative presentation about Autism.
It is with deep regret that we say farewell to our good friend Jim Dunford. If you can, look at his outstanding life as depicted in the Times Union obituary, page B-5, Saturday Jan. 22. The funeral was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Atlantic Beach. His burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. Our Kiwanis members served as pallbearers at the funeral. Sincerely , John Bates

Mayport Builders Club is collecting items that will be given to patients at Wolfson Childrens Hospital. It differs from our Kiwanis "Hats and Hugs" donations that just go to little kids. These gifts are geared to ages from infant thru teen ages. . The Mayport Builders have lists of ideal gifts for the different ages from the Wolfson management. This will be announced to the entire school student body, and they plan to have it completed by the end of February. As the committee read off the lists, it was very interesting. This club has a bunch of innovative 6,7,8 grade students. I hope our club members saw the article in the Beaches Leader a couple of weeks ago.
John Bates
The Mayport Builders Club has about 25 members. Their current project is collecting items for patients at Wolfson Childrens Hospital. They are also sending honey bees to third world countries through the Heifer International Program to help pollinate crops. Past projects have been collecting items for Haiti, purchasing wreaths for Arlington National Cemetery, and collecting food for various organizations.
