In the early hours of Feb 13,2015 with family by her side, Helen Mac Donaldpeacefully passedaway at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Helen was born on July 11th 1942,one of twelve children to Myra & Nelson Squires. She grewup in Greenwich with her brothers and sisters;Gladdie,Sterling,Elmer,Willard,Kier,Jimmie,Leigh,Pearl,Lynn,Vera, and Phyllis. She attended Greenwich School and later Morell High School. She married Hubert Sanderson and together they raised one daughter;Beverly. They worked on

the family farm together and were married for 27 years. She also worked at St Peters Co-op, Dept of Transportation and her last and most satisfying

job at Morell Day Care. She loved the children and being with them brought her much joy andhappiness. This kept her young at heart. She later married Reuben MacDonald and became part of his extended family; son Peter(Patricia) MacDonald and their children; Kate & Neil and daughter Mary MacDonald .Theyenjoyed 15 happy years together. Reuben passed away in 2004.Mom loved her family and had a special bond with her daughter. We laughed and cried and sometimes drove each other crazy, but we were always there for each other. She also had a special

relationship with her son-in-law; Wilfred and loved to help him with odd jobs and often gave her advice(whether he wanted it ornot). Although they joked around a lot, they truly enjoyed each others company. She was especially proud of her grandchildren;Emily & Adam. To them she was Pink Nanny and later just Pink. This name affectionately stayed with her and to family andfriends she was known as Pink. She always took a great interest in their education and sporting events. Bearing the cold at therinks, watching hockey & ringette and travelling all over the country. She loved spending time with them and spoiling them. They

were her Pride and Joy.Mom was a strong, independent and active woman. She volunteered with Hospice, St Peters CWL and CIBC Run for the Cure. She was

always there to help others whenever she could. She loved to travel and visit family and friends.A couple of her most memorable trips were to Disney World, Florida and the GrandCanyon & Scotsdale, Arizona. She also traveled from coast to coast in Canada; BC-Toronto-Ottawa-Newfoundland and various partsof the Maritimes. She was never one to turn down a good game of cards and enjoyed people dropping in for a visit. Whether for a short or extendedstay, you were always treated to a cup of tea or coffee and some good home cooking.

She faced many challenges in life. Her faith in God and prayers helped her through each challenge. She won the battle against cancerand other illnesses. Unfortunately she did not win her final battle. She fought hard, but it was not meant to be. This just shows us howlife can change so quickly and we should be thankful for each day and live life to the fullest,as she did.
