TOSHIBA JSW Power System Ltd. Experience Details (Dec 2015 to till date)

Project-Harduaganj project (ALIGARH-U.P-INDIA) (1 X 660 MW -Supercritical-EPC).

Presently working as a Manager in C&I-Design Engineering in Toshiba JSW Power system Ltd.

Responsible for planning the project schedule with the Project Management team, monitoring the project progress, addressing the deviations, finalizing the technical requirements with other departments like Electrical, Mechanical.

Role includes decision-making in finalizing technical details with vendors and client and assisting management on manpower/resource recruitment.

Experienced in interacting with different C&I and Mechanical package vendors for finalizing the design and specifications as per the Client requirement.

Attend the meeting with client for all C&I related technical issues and getting the documents approved.

Responsible for preparing the Progress review report (Monthly and weekly) for the project.

Key design tasks completed include preparing DBR (Design base review), RFQs from C&I side for BOP area mainly-AHP, CHPBMS, Main Turbine-D-EHCCW/ACW BFPs, CEPsFOPHCPU (Condensate Polishing unit) HVAC (AC and Ventilation)etc.

Prepared SDD (system design description) for TOSMAP-DCS, Feed water system, Turbine Extraction steam and other documents like Logics for Turbine and Boiler (BMS, BPS), Turbine Alarm system, SOE etc.

Prepared Configuration diagram and Functional Grouping Document (for DCS) for the project.

Technical bid evaluation of offers for above mentioned packages from C&I side.

Samsung Engineering India Experience Details (Jan 2015 –Nov 2015)

Worked as Principal Engineer in C&I Design and Engineering for Combined cycle power projects.

Involved in the Engineering of Chile-Kelar project (Combined cycle- 2-2-1 Configuration-540 MW). Key tasks completed include - preparation of DCS configuration diagram, Instrument Index, Hook-up Diagrams, Main cable layout, 3-D Model review, Instrument typical mounting details, instrument location and wiring plan, interconnection diagram etc.

Was also involved in the preparation of proposal for Topollo Project (MEXICO-939 MW-Combined cycle).Jobs undertaken- Preparing Instrument Index, Technical Bid evaluation for HP BYPASS, LP BYPASS, GAS CHROMATOGRAPH, SWAS etc, preparing specifications of various instruments, Control valve selection, preparing hook-up diagrams, reviewing P&ID etc.

Familiar with various National & International Standards/codes such as ISA, IEC, ISO, ASTM, ASME, NEC used in Instrumentation & Control design

Knowledge of design tools like Smart Plant Instrumentation (INtools), and AutoCAD.

NTPC Experience Details- (6 Nov 2001- 31 Dec 2014)

Worked as a Group Head (Sr.Manager) in C&I -Turbine-Offsite group (2 X 500MW-NTPC DADRI) in O&M-C&I and also in NTPC DADRI GAS/ Combined cycle Power Project.

Key tasks during commissioning include-

As a Commissioning Manager –

Experienced in interacting with various departments like Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil for Thermal power plant. (NTPC DADRI 2 X 500 MW) for commissioning and maintenance activities.

Interacting with EPC Contractor, sub-contractors to ensure proper documentation, instrumentation and logics commissioning, start-up activities, material delivery, project execution and PG testing.

Preparation of weekly progress report and monthly report.

Participating in meeting with different vendors to solve technical issues and monitor project progress.

As a group head, forming the team for TG and BOP and leading the team for all technical activities.

Technical Details and Commissioning and Maintenance Experience:

As a group head - Involved in the planning, scheduling and execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning activities for TG and BOP area.

Ensured the timely delivery of the project (2x 500 MW) for Common wealth games in 2010.

Experienced in commissioning and working on modern DCS packages.

Was fully involved in the field engineering and commissioning of MAXDNA-DCS package for Turbine area, BOP, CHP (Coal handling plant) and DM PLANT. All the logics modifications and implementation done by self.

So, full knowledge of Control System design, Control philosophy and all the intricacies of control system and power plant design.

Well versed with modern DCS package, Turbine logics (both OLCS and CLCS) and instrumentation, Boiler Logics. Commissioned VMS & TSI (Turbine Supervisory Instruments-GE BENTLEY SYSTEM) for 500MW turbine and VMS for Boiler Auxiliaries like ID fan, FD fan etc.

Involved in the logic preparation and commissioning of control loops-Speed Control, Load Control, Pressure Control, Turbine protection, RGMO/ FGMO, ATRS (automatic turbine run-up system) and ATT (automatic turbine tester) for KWU Turbine (500 MW), FSSS for Boiler etc.

Experienced in commissioning and working on Turbine Governing system, LP Bypass, HP BYPASS system, Turbine auxiliaries, TDBFP logics and instrumentation, TDBFP VMS-PACKAGE (BY SHINKAWA) and BOP equipment like CEPs, ACW, ECW and CW etc.

Well versed with loops like Drum level, Hotwell level, CEP Discharge pressure control, Furnace Pressure Control, Air flow control, SH/RH Temperature control etc.

Hands on experience on SIEMENS-S7 and ALLEN BRADLEY PLC and ladder logic also.

Engineering Experience (NTPC)–

Worked at the Engineering Office at NTPC, Key tasks –

Basic and detailed engineering of the project. Preparation and review of C&I drawings-P&I diagrams, Hook-up

diagrams, logic diagrams, instrument list, instrument schedule, cable schedule, control room layout, panel designs, DCS configuration drawing etc. for 500 MW unit.

Meeting with different vendors and finalization of packages. Assisting Erection and Commissioning team

Preventive and Predictive Maintenance planning as a Group head. Lead the team to attend the routine and complex Breakdown jobs

related to Control system and field instruments across different packages like Boiler, Turbine, BOP, Offsite area.

Efficiency improvement jobs in coordination with O&E Responsible for overhauling activity as O/H In-charge from C&I

Maintenance side. Ensure ZERO Breakdowns of major auxiliaries and unit as well. Develop training schedules/plans for Engineers and technicians in

I&C section. Co-ordinate with Stores and Procurement/Contracts for inventory

management and service contracts. Preparation of Purchase requisitions for various instruments and

systems. Interacting with different vendors for meeting the schedule of supply

for instruments and services.

Achievements1. Got GM award (NTPC DADRI) for the modification of logic of CW Pumps 2. Cleared GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) in the year 2001 (All
