Coordinating all the technical activities for Agriculture Export and
Rural Incomes Project (AERI) in Fayoum & Giza governorates, covering all
the coordination activities as well as managing a team of eight Agribusiness
development officers.
AERI is a USAID funded project to improve the Egyptian Livestock
small holders’ product quality and volume, increase profitability of
processors and traders, strengths input supply & support services and
increase marketing efficiency.

Managing the technical field activities related to the implementation
of recommendations through follow-up visits. Gathered baseline,
intermediate and end-of project data for measuring project impact.
AgLink is a USAID funded project, worked in the area of livestock to
provide technical assistance to the Egyptian Agribusiness commercial dairy
and beef farms, small holders and Agricultural Extension Agents.
Develop schedules for volunteers, consultant, trainers and agribusiness firm and
accompany them while in country to provide translation and to record technology and
practice recommendations.
Escort Egyptian clients to U.S. site visits and provide translation, meeting facilitation
and logistical support Responsible for selecting project beneficiaries.
Provide technical assistance to project beneficiaries including both commercial dairy
and beef farms in addition to Small holders through direct consultation, video
presentations, seminars, training sessions, farm excursions as well as on job training.
Supervising 15 Agriculture extension agents.
Worked on raising family income of 500 small livestock holders in Alexandria.
Evaluate client farms through a Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) process, and
prepare a detailed profile of pervasive farm and firm needs.
Draft Scopes of Work (SOW’s) for U.S. and Egyptian volunteers, consultants and
trainers.
Monitoring the implementation of recommendations via self-scheduled follow-up
visits to project different target groups. Gather baseline, intermediate and end-of
project data for measuring project impact.
Plan and facilitate staff-conducted training sessions. Assist in preparation and
distribution of training materials and documentation of recommendation.
Train the Agriculture extension agents (AEA) on working with small holders in the
areas of livestock Nutrition Vet., and Management concepts.
Provide the small holders with the new technology in the area of nutrition – Vet. –
Management.
Participating in nominating the local area consultants.
Developing good relations with governmental agencies.
Organizing vet. Campaigns.
Translating seminars made by overseas consultants.
N.B:- From January till October 2003 was a transition period between two
projects and was part time job to enable project low cost extension.
