Course Description
This course will build a a good scientific base and Establishing the basic
principles of the world of information systems for the student as Provides an
overview of current and emerging technologies used in organizations today. Emphasis
is placed on ensuring that all business majors understand the technological
infrastructure underlying information systems, with emphasis on :-

People rely on modern information systems to communicate with one another using a

Q) Megabit (Mb) and Megabyte (MB) are the same ? (Y/N)? Discuss why and how?
Solution :-
-No they are not the same for the same value
-It's important to be able to distinguish between the two when you're calculating things like The
speed of your internet connection and the size of a file or hard drive.
The Little "b" vs the Big "B" Megabits are expressed as Mb or Mbit when talking about digital
storage, or Mbps (Megabits per second) in the context of data transfer rates. All of these are
expressed with aLowercase "b."
If a file you’re downloading is 750 MB (megabytes), it's technically also 6000 Mb (megabits). Here's
why, and it's very simple... There Are 8 Bits in Each Byte .
Here is where the formula 8 bits = 1 byte can be used to convert megabits to megabytes, And vice
versa.
Another way to look at it is that a megabit is 1/8 of a megabyte, or that a
Megabyte is 8 times that of a megabit.

A Lecturer must be ready to take the responsibility of any new subject and meet the department‘s needs , But, I
prefer to work with subjects that are near to my academic speciality ( like Data Structure and Programming
Fundamentals by C++ ). That is not fair to the Lecturer and students .
