Google +

In the beginning…

Google+ was my choice of PLN because Google has a reputation for making programs and software that are “complete” and include features that other programs and software don’t have.

It came to no surprise to me that when I first started using Google+ how easy it was to find content and groups that were related to my interests(i.e. Education, Science, Technology, etc.).

Google For Education

• A Google+ page that shares tips and ideas in how technology plays an important role in education.

• Google For Education helps me in my professional development as an educator by giving me helpful tips about how to use technology in education as well as allow me to see examples of how others are using technology to benefit education.

• I enjoy following this page because of the variety of posts that are posted daily.

Discovery Education

• Discovery Education is a Google+ page that aids teachers as well as students by providing tons of digital content such as videos about science, access to virtual field trips, and interactive lessons.

• As an educator, I feel that Discovery Education will provide me with content that I can use to keep my class interested and engaged as well as give my lessons more diversity and substance.

Education Week• Though much of this

page is based on American content, the information and articles being posted can be used by any educator, regardless of where they are in the world.

• Education Week can provide me with relevant articles, ideas, and news about Education that I can use to better myself as well as learn more about how to be more in touch with the world of Education.

Growth of my Google+ PLN

Participation in PLN• Being part of Google+ has been

worthwhile because of all the professionals, groups, and communities that provide endless knowledge and resources about Education.

• One of the ways that I have communicated and connected with the Google+ community would be that I create and share posts regarding Education and Technology.

• I will continue the development of my PLN further by following more educational groups and professionals, communicate with the community by sharing posts, and strive to find new ways in which Google+ can enhance my professional development.
