Agenda Context Strengths of Cow milk Limitations of Buffalo milk Importance of Green Forage Limitations of Green Forage Concept of A2 milk European breeds A1 A2 tests Limitations of A1 milk Vedic Veterinary Knowledge Improving milk yield in Indian cow Threats for Indian Cows Opportunities with Indian milk Good milk Concept Advantage of Good milk concept Opportunities for milk from Indian cow

The Context | ||

Ishopanishad-9, Yayu-40.9

Ones without knowledge are blind they fall in to hell Those blinded with knowledge fall in to deeper hell

Context contd/1.Worlds oldest domesticated cow tradition 2.Bharatiya Cow is A2 Type 3. Insatiable domestic demand growth potential for Pure Cow Milk 4 . Biggest potential for A2 Milk production in the world

Do not down grade by mixing it with HARMFULL products such as buffalo milk & A1 Milk

Strength of Cow Milk -1Carotenoids1.Lutein, beta Carotene, Zeaxanthin organic pigments transferred to milk only by COWS & none by Buffalo, Goat, Sheep.(Reason why Buffalo Milk is White) 2.Buffalo milk has Vitamin A-but lacks Lutein Beta Carotene & Zeaxanthin necessary for eyes. 2. Retinal problems - Cataract, Macular degeneration of eyes are protected by Carotenoids.

Strength of Cow Milk -2Only Cows Milk has Vitamin D Buffalo Milk has no Vitamin D1.Cow milk allows Calcium absorption, Buffalo milk has more calcium but can not be absorbed without natural Vitamin D 2.Buffalo milk causes metabolic disease due to lack of Vitamin D

Limitations of Buffalo milk1. , . 2. , . . , . 3. . 4. . .

Importance of Green Forage1. Pasture feed is cheapest for reducing cost of Milk production 2. Enhances Milk production 3. Reduces Total Fat Content ( most desirable from health angle EU Lipgene project) 4. Enhances CLA Fats, Omega3=Omega6 5. Greens only provide Carotenoids

Limitations of Green ForageHydroponics /Pastures is the answer

Green Forage only enhances CLA

Concept of A2 milk1. Basically Milk is of two types A1 or A2. 2. Depending upon breed, Cows can produce A1,or A2 or a mixture of A1A2 milk. 3. Bharatiya cows & Guernsey cows produce A2/A2 milk, American HF cows produce A1 milk.

European Breeds A1A2 Tests

Limitations of A1 milk1. Blood Brain Barrier is formed in human body after 3 to 4 years age. 2. BCM7 in infant milk is associated with Autism. In USA Mothers milk is prescribed for infants. In UK most of the milk is from Jersey cows that is A2/A1 type. Formula Milk is promoted more by UK . 3.BCM7 destroys insulin in infants causing Diabetes type1 4. Sudden death Syndrome in infants is also associated with BCM7

Limitations of A1 milk1.In adults BCM7 found in A1 milk has been implicated in Obesity, very high incidence of CAD, (Heart related diseases) Diabetes, Ulcerative colitis, Multiple sclerosis, Mental disorders Parkinson & Schizophrenia. 2. Rising trend of these diseases in India and world statistics correlate with per capita A1 Milk consumption.

Vedic Veterinary Knowledge | || RV 1.25.16 Cows go far in pastures for self feed after visually inspecting it. | : || Clean environments, pasture Feed is nutritive and medicinal value, clean water to drink, treading on earth clean soil.

Vedic Veterinary Knowledge1.Housing/ environment- cow handling facilities- Cows to be tied in North South orientation. 2.Green Pasture diversity feeding/ Good clean drinking water 3.Breeding Bulls care, selection, prevention of Inbreeding 4. Calving procedures, Ear Tattoo marking the young calves, feeding care of young calves. 5 Sanitation in milking, health and hand care of milking staff- ladies to cover their heads while milking and handling of milk

Vedic Veterinary Knowledge6. Milking three times a day Improves productivity 7. Milk to be drunk by sipping and not by gulping 8. Milk Fats to be consumed carefully . Dangers to human health, involved in consuming larger quantities of milk fats. 9. Cow rearing a female activity- to ensure more affectionate care of cows. 10. Only low fat content milk producing cows to be promoted. Higher fat content to be extracted for offering in hawan. 11. Cow Dung and Urine as main inputs for Organic Pesticide free Agriculture, and medicinal use.

Improving milk yield in Indian Cows80% Cows in India depend on stray bulls for natural breeding. Give importance to natural breeding. 2. Castration of Stray Bulls & supply of pedigree Bharatiya breed Bulls to be given priority-These have not been implemented sincerely 3. Pedigree Bharatiya Bulls to be sourced from Govt. Bull Farms (ET, AI ) and Goshalas 4. Goshalas must be helped to develop Good Bharatiya Bull production1.

Improving milk yield in Indian Cows1. 2.

5.

Train Rural youth/ ladies in traditional basic Cow care Make available Pasture lands ( Now with Supreme Court intervention) Help with Pasture developments Develop cost effective rural Hydroponics Fodder production technologies Hydroponics Fodder production can provide additional Rural Youth self Employment

Threats for Indian Cow1. Obsession with Cross Breeding practices: Ignorance about merits of Indian cows and A2 Milk 2. Different regional climates, soils and forage already have different breeds of cows. 3. ICAR has mapped 34 Breeds. Conservation and development all breeds is important 4. Clandestine Cow slaughter 5. Non availability of Good Bulls for Natural service

Threats for Indian Cow3. Obsession with AI ignores importance of Natural Service. 4. 80% Bharatiya Cows are covered only by natural service. 5. Good Bull production for natural service should be on top priority. 6. Govt. farms should assist Goshalas in production of good Bulls

Good Milk Concept1. 2. 3.

4.1. 2. 3.

BCM7 Free A2 Milk Indian Cows / DNA tested for A2 Milk Herd Low saturated Fat Milk Milk- Omega3:Omega 6:: 1:1-by Pasture feeding rBGh free Milk ( Only USA allows this) EU has banned US milk imports Organic Pesticide free Milk Clean low bacteria count milk not needing pasteurization -Raw Milk

Good Milk Concept1.Implement tools for quick ,inexpensive techniques to detect BCM7 free cattle (DBT Research project is already in hand) 2. Develop breeding strategies to breed more productive A2 milk producing cattle- rely more on Indigenous breeds than exotic imported cattle 3. Educate and train rural women workers, and youth in to participate in production of larger quantities of GOOD Milk. 4 . Increase rural consumption of GOOD milk by helping mid day school milk programs

Advantage of Good milk concept1. A2 Milk is Disease Preventer & Cure 2. CLA (Conjuagated Linoleic Acid) in Milk 1:1 ratio of Omega3 to Omega6 in Milk 3. Rich in Vitamin D 4. Rich in Carotenoids

This milk is not only established by NIH of USA as anti Obesity, Cancer, Diabetes and CVD( Cardio Vascular Diseases) atherosclerosis but also acts as a medicine against these diseases.

Advantage of Good milk concept1 Human Brain is 70-% Phopholipids DHA,EPA. A. Lipids DHA (Docosa Hexaenoic Acid), and EPA (Ecosa Pentaenoic Acids) are the main constituents of Brain. These are EFAs derived by human body from Omega3 EFAs B. Omega3 EFAs are found only in Cold water fish, Grass fed cows milk and nuts mostly in Walnuts, Flax and Chia seeds. C. For a predominantly vegetarian society like India Grass Fed Cows milk is the only viable source of Omega3 for DHA, EPA

Opportunities for Indian Milk1. Quickest growth of local consumer base 2. Nutrition- Mental development health linkage 3. Development of Immense employment opportunities in rural areas including Self employment. 4. Additional Self Employment opportunities: Biogas plants, Hydroponics Fodder, Para Vets 5.Big opportunity for GOOD milk exports
