LABELING NOTICE: Labels are affixed on all systems to inform the user of possible dangers. Regulations are stated in21 CFR, Section 1040.20, and require that all products manufactured after September 8, 1986 which use sunlampsmust display the following:

Ultraviolet radiation. Follow instructions. Avoid overexposure. As with natural sunlight, overexpo-sure can cause eye and skin injury and allergic reactions. Repeated exposure may cause pre-

mature aging of the skin and skin cancer. WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR; FAILURE TO MAY RESULT IN SEVERE BURNSOR LONGTERM INJURY TO THE EYES.

Medications or cosmetics may increase your sensitivity to the ultraviolet radiation. Consult physician before usingsunlamp if you are using medications or have a history of skin problems or believe yourself especially sensitive tosunlight. If you do not tan in the sun, you are unlikely to tan from the use of this product.

Do not use without wire grid in place. Tanning normally appears after the first few sessions and maximizes afterapproximately four weeks. Tan once or twice per week thereafter to maintain appearance. Frequency of sessionsshould be limited to every other day. Persons already having a base tan may begin at advanced levels corre-sponding to the extent of their base tan.

New lamps emit approximately 20% more ultraviolet radiation during the first 50 hours of operation. Recommendedtanning times should therefore be reduced by approximately 20% during that period.

For a uniform tan, center yourself within the booth both front and back and to the left and right. This will result inyour body being equidistant from all lamps. Other postions may result in over exposure to parts of your body.

Use only the lamp listed below or certified equivalents as failure to will result in non-compliance with federal regu-lations.

Installation-Pre-Installation Planning

Pre-Installation Planning

Before you begin to assemble your booth, you should observe the following pre-installation considerations.

• Your booth operates from a 220V ACsource. The unit must be hardwiredto a dedicated circuit capable of pro-viding 60 amp service. Electricalconnection of this unit requires aprofessional electrician.

• IMPORTANT! Use of a voltage sourceabove 230V AC may prevent properoperation of the booth and couldcause damage and void the warranty.

• Make sure the room in which youintend to use your booth is well venti-lated. Air from the room is used to coolthe booth, and a poorly ventilatedroom may cause the unit to becomehot and cause discomfort to the user.

• Your sunbed is designed to operate inan ambient room temperature of 80°Fmaximum and 70% relative humidity.

• The SUNVISION® Super V6000 mustbe installed in a room with a mini-mum ceiling height of eight (8) feet.Place your booth no closer than 6"from any wall.

• Proper assembly of your boothrequires three people. Plan to have acouple of helpers assist you.

Remote Connections

Your booth incorporates advanced circuitryallowing it to connect and communicate withmost remote control systems. If a remote sys-tem is to be used, first determine whether theremote system is a T-Max® System or a stan-dard remote system operating with a controlrelay. Follow the appropriate instructions foryour system type.

Warning: The remote connection is notdesigned to supply or accept high voltage, nor can it provide power to an external timer. The booth’s remote interface circuitry oper-ates on 5 volts, attempting to connect it toany higher voltages will damage the booth aswell as void your warranty.

T-Max® Manager Remote SystemThe T-Max® Manager remote system offersthe ultimate in solarium control, while allow-ing the tanner easy straightforward operation. This system is ideal for multiple unit installa-tions. Your booth is already configured todirectly connect to this system. The circuitryinside your booth eliminates the need for theT-Max® 1A when connecting to the T-Max®

Manager series. To connect your booth to thissystem follow the instructions that came withyour remote system, noting figure 2 on thenext page. After you have set the address, or“id” of each solarium, simply connect the RJ-22 Modular cable(s), described in the T-Max®

Manager manual, directly into the port(s)located on the back of your booth. You canplace your booth at any location in the series.Remember the last connection in the seriesrequires a T-Max® terminator plug or SUNVI-SIONTM bypass plug.

Installation–Remote Connections

T-Max® 1A Remote SystemThe T-Max® 1A offers the same control as theT-Max® Manager in single booth installations. For this, your 1A must be configured as a“master”. If the 1A is not configured as a mas-ter it will not work in this application.

After you have set the address, or “id”, on theT-Max® 1A and the booth simply connect theRJ-22 modular cables, described in the T-Max® user’s guide, directly into either portlocated on the top of the booth and eitherport on the back of the T-Max® 1A. If the T-Max® 1A and the booth are more than 100feet apart, terminators or SUNVISION®

Remote Bypass plugs should be installed inthe unused ports. See figure 1.

Setting the addressBefore connecting your booth to the T-Max®

Manager or T-Max® 1A, the address or “id” ofyour booth must first be set. The auto-addressing feature of the latest T-Max®

Installation–Remote Connections

Remote systems using a Control Relay

Most non-T-Max® remote systems control thebooth by the use of a relay. The relay oper-ates the booth by connecting and discon-necting a pair of wires leading from the booth.Refer to the user’s manual provided with yourremote system to determine if it operates inthis way. To connect your booth to this typeof system a remote interface kit is required.Call ETS at the phone number listed on theback of this guide to obtain the kit. Figure 3below details a typical connection. Follow theinstructions provided with the kit and fromthe remote’s manual to make the necessaryconnections.

Introduction

Your tanning booth has an hour meterwhich keeps track of how many hours thebooth has been in operation. Use thismeter to determine when your boothrequires maintenance.

Cleaning After Use

Clean and disinfect your tanning booth’spedestal, handles, control console and wiregrid after each use. Use a non-abrasive dis-infectant cleaner. We recommendSunQuest® disinfectant. Spray a clean softcloth with disinfectant and then clean allsurfaces that the tanner may have come incontact with.

Thorough Periodic Cleaning

Introduction

The cooling fans draw air through thebooth and over time will cause a dustbuildup on the lamps and reflectors. Thiswill reduce the tanning effectiveness of thebooth. When a dust buildup is observed, itis necessary to thoroughly clean the insideof the booth. Warning! Disconnect booth from electricalpower before cleaning.

are & MaintenanceCCleaning the Booth

Step 1. Remove the wire grids and lampsas described in Replacing Lamps.

Step 2. With a soft cloth, wipe the entirelength of each lamp and reflectorto remove any film buildup.

Step 3. Re-install the lamps and wire gridsas described in Replacing Lamps.

Mechanical Inspection

Your tanning booth has been built for yearsof service. To ensure trouble free operationthroughout its life, inspect the unit’smechanical integrity every 400-500 hoursof use.

• Inspect the unit’s fasteners verifyingthat all are firmly in place. Pay particu-lar attention to the door alignment.Adjust the door casters as needed. SeeAssembly Step 2.

• Inspect the AC power cable and its con-nections.

Replacing Lamps

To be assured of maximum tanning effec-tiveness, change lamps after approxi-mately 800-1000 hours of use. Tanningwill continue after this time but at a slow-er rate. To ensure trouble-free operationof your sunbed, replace the lamp starterswhenever the lamps are replaced.

Warning! Disconnect the booth fromelectrical power before servicing.

Removing/Replacing Wire GridsThe wire grids in the booth are secured inplace by screws. Remove these screws, located at the top of the grid, and lift thegrid out of its lower slot. The inside han-dle on the door must also be removedbefore removing the door grid. Simplyunscrew the handle from the handlebracket as shown. After changing lamps, replace the grids, handles and screws. When replacing the door grid, be sure toposition the grid behind the retaining pinon the handle bracket to limit movement.

Removing/Replacing LampsAfter grids are removed, replace lamps asfollows:Step 1. Grasp the lamp at one end and

at the middle, then turn thelamp a quarter turn. The lampmay then be gently removedfrom its holder.

Step 2. To re-install a lamp, insert thepins located on the ends of thelamp into the slots on top of thelamp holder and turn the lamp aquarter turn.

Recommended Replacement Lamps

We recommend using the lamps speci-fied below. Use of uncertified lamps is aviolation of federal regulations and willvoid your warranty. These lamps have anaverage life of 800-1000 hours of effec-tive tanning use. Lamps used longer thanthat begin to lose their effectiveness eventhough they will continue to light.
