• Applicant: Amina, Sara and Sumayia• Title: touring website• Duration: 3 weeks• Statement of the purpose : Since tourism is
considered as a very important factor for countries income, moreover, each country has its famous and unique places which must be known to tourists. So, we had decided to develop a website that can be as a guide for tourists in Oman. Moreover, this website serves an instructional purpose which is as final project for programming 1 course.
Project background
• Objectives:– Developing a website that guides tourists in
Oman.
– Accomplishing one of the goals of programming course in using programming skills to develop a website.
– Strengthen the collaboration skills between groups' members.

• Audience: Arabic tourists.
• Expected outcomes:– Increasing awareness about touring places in
Oman.
– Developing tourist's knowledge about new projects in Oman.
– Publishing our website to be as a constant reference for Arabic tourists.
• Model of evaluation: we used Bates’ ACTION model to evaluate this project as following:– Accessibility– Interactivity and User-friendliness
• Accessibility:We will measure this feature by using a check list which
contains the following points:– Technical Issues: e.g. Bandwidth issue: large files require
high speed internet connections.– Design Issues: Consider learners with disabilities e.g.
Using alternate text & audio for non-text elements.
• Interactivity and User-friendlinessWe will measure this feature by using interviews with content
experts and web designers which contain the following points:
–Navigation»Site map» structural aids (units, lessons,..)» Clearly labeled links» Skip option for animation » Search feature
• Usability• Efficiency: cost and time saving •User satisfaction: ease of use,
intuitiveness, visual appeal, etc.• Effectiveness: user retention over time.
