Summary of MODAPS
Production 3/17 • Collection 5 Forward Processing
– Terra is as close to real time as possible, Aqua is 5 days behind.• Aqua days 2009/69 and 71 were delayed due to the problem with the Alaska line and maneuvers. Both days have been closed at less than 100% with 25-minutes of data outage.
– LST C4.1 for Terra and Aqua is running in parallel with C5 until collection 6 starts in 2010.
– Aqua Atmospheres is running as collection 5.1 on forward processing. This has been delayed due to same issues with days 69 and 70.
– The new land cover PGE has been installed into operations. Products have been generated and will be exported to the LPDAAC when insert testing completes for the new ESDTs. A bug was discovered in the input data provided for this processing. The data will be reprocessed once a new set of input data is received.
Reprocessing (3/17)• Collection 5 Land Reprocessing
– We are processing 4 additional tiles of BRDF in the Arctic region from the start of mission. Years 2000-2004 have completed. • The leading edge is 2005/049.
• Collection 051 Aqua atmospheres Reprocessing– The leading edge is 2006/258 (June 20)
• The current x-rate is 14.8x• The average x-rate since the start of reprocessing is 14.1x
• Collection 041 Land LST Aqua and Terra Reprocessing– Reprocessing began at data day 2007/001 and will run through December 2008
– The leading edge is 2008/099• The current x-rate is 3.4x
Summary of PGE Deliveries to SDST (3/17)
• Level 1:– A Terra and Aqua L1B for collection 6 has been baselined.
• We have received the C6 LUTs from MCST – Work has continued on the Collection 6 PGE01 and the initial
delivery has been delayed until late April.• Atmospheres:
– All atmospheres PGEs, except PGE69, have been converted to Linux.
– New versions of Terra PGEs for C051 are expected in late April.• Land:
– A new version of PGE13 was baselined to correct a bug found in the L2g-lite science test.
– The new version of PGE72 for science testing the new water mask has been baselined.
– We have received the new version of PGE80 for the collection 5.1 BurnScar processing.
– We have received the new PGE87 land cover code. Request for new ESDTs has been sent to ECS and received by the LPDAAC.
– We have received the collection 6 versions of PGE16 (LST), PGE75 (daily CMG), PGE21 (8-day Surface Reflectance), PGE90 (Aeronet Subsetter) and PGE11(LSR)
– A problem with the meta data in the Linux version of PGE 28 needs to be corrected. A new Linux version is expected this week.
Summary of Science Testing 3/17• Atmospheres:
– An IRIX/Linux comparison test completed for PGE 55 and we are waiting for a PCR.
– A one month reference test (April 2005) using de-registered L1B data has completed and is under review.
– A one-month science test for PGE 83 C051 for April 2005 has completed and is under review.
• Land Science Testing:– A 16-day, 10 tile test for L2g-lites completed and is
under review. A small bug in the PGE13 metadata was detected and the test will be reprocessed.
• L1 Science Testing:– Four 1-day tests for the Collection 6 L1B (Terra and
Aqua) have been completed• An additional 1-day golden tile test has completed and is under review
• Mandriva 2008 Science Testing: – PGEs 01, 02 and 03 have passed Mandriva testing.– Land PGEs are being tested using inputs generated on the
mandrake system:• PGEs 7, 8, 11, 22, 44, 43, 46, 75, 80 and 84 have passed Mandriva testing
– The atmospheres PGEs that have recently been converted to Linux have not been tested on Mandriva.
