DESCRIPTION
At Esri UK Annual Conference 2014 Severn Trent Water is driving through a series of replacements of their GIS systems that are used to manage the extensive underground pipe networks and the associated assets such as manholes, hydrants and valves. One of these projects is delivering a mobile maps solution for over 1000 field workers that is integrated with the work management system. It will introduce a new way or working that will improve the quality of data we hold on our assets and will ultimately reduce the risk of customers suffering water supply interruptions and waste water pollutions. This solution is built on the Esri ArcGIS mobile product and enabled by a collaborative partnership between Severn Trent and Esri UK over the past year. The Project Manager will explain the journey that Severn Trent have experienced including the business drivers, the solution, the key challenges and lessons learned that delegates from other organisations would benefit from hearing before embarking on a similar project.TRANSCRIPT
