DATAKEY® has a modular design and offers you a cost-effective solution, as you only buy those modules, which you really need. The modules are standardised and can be tailored to customer requirements if needed. On the one hand, DATAKEY® functions as middleware between MDC devices and the ERP system and on the other hand it is the „data centre“ for mobile solutions and auto-ID systems along the supply chain.
In the BASIC MODULE, all the data traffic is controlled and managed by mobile devices (handheld terminals, PDAs, etc.), from label printing to data exchange with the ERP system. The module runs on the DATAKEY® server, a stand-alone computer. All users of mobile data collection devices are set up and managed here, as well as lists and reports being drawn up. The multilingual capability means it can be used all over the world.
With the HARDWARE MANAGER, installed hardware components, such as MDC devices, label printer, access points or other IT peripherals, can be set up, configured and managed in a well-structured way. You can see both the configuration and the status of the devices straight away, with just one click. The hardware manager offers remote maintenance of the system via remote control.
MDC CLIENT controls data exchange between the mobile software applications of the handheld and the DATAKEY® server. Intelligent and structured programming ensures rapid response times, plausibility checks and reliable and robust data communication, even when there are hundreds of users on the system all round the world. In addition, MDC Client controls the batch or on-line mode in the event of a radio failure. The user‘s workflow is controlled using screen masks. Each step is checked for plausibility and immediately entered into the ERP system via the DATAKEY® server.

Modern ERP systems assume there are flexible INTERFACES. DATAKEY® meets this requirement with an open conversion table. This means that all data can be converted, filtered and translated in a short time.
The DATAKEY®-CONTROL CENTRE provides transparency in warehouse and production and enables the Warehouse and Production Manager to be in control and take action. It provides flexible order tracking and processing, which is not offered by ERP
systems. Orders can be allocated, split and tracked using the
control centre. The control centre can be called up
on a desktop terminal or a mobile one.
With the PRINT SPOOLER, labels/lists can be printed out on the spot during the workflow (reception of goods, picking or dispatch). The
print data are processed in a batch job, which means
they are available right across the company. Standards such as GS1 128,
GS1 DataBar, Unicode, etc. are supported for the supply chain.

each year and supplied to automotive producers all over the world.

Within the framework of this project, around 5,000 IT components and the
associated infrastructure, right down to individual server racks, have
been tagged on 3 sites using RFID transponders. Installation options for
various devices made of metal, plastic and glass enable durable and
flexible marking of the server on the front.
Bene service teams are on the move all over the world to provide
professional and efficient installation of equipment that has been tailored
to customer requirements. In the process, Bene fitters are supported by
mobile handheld terminals which, as well as providing time recording, are
also the "on-line interface" to enterprise resource planning and marketing
tools.
A staff of over 500 develop, produce and market the high-tech hearing
implants of Tyrolean manufacturer MED-EL and its subsidiary Vibrant-
Medel. Medical devices are subject to the strict regulations of the FDA
and EN 13485, which also include complete production documentation
and traceability of each individual part. This is now achieved with the
support of a B&M TRICON system, which is based on DATAKEY ERP
middleware and intelligent Honeywell radio frequency terminals.

Steyr production site and they can now be found in every supermarket.
Processing in the reception and dispatch warehouses is controlled with
