Fraser is a multi-instrumentalist who has developed an distinctive sound across the variety of wind instruments he plays and an approach to music making which has lead to collaboration with a diverse list of artists. 35th EDINBURGH JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL, Friday 19th - Sunday 28th July venues across the capital. Headline acts include: Jools

Holland, Eric Burdon, Pharoah Sanders, Tia Fuller, Champian Fulton, Snarky Puppy, Mud Morganfield, Ghostpoet, Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concert, The Three Bs (Chris Barber, Acker Bilk and Keith Ball) and many more. Expect unique artistic collaborations, cutting edge performers, funk and dance-fused sounds, timeless jazz favourites, intense art, total relaxation and a good time for all! There’ll be fun-packed nights at Festival Theatre, a party atmosphere at the Spiegeltent and show-stopping performances at the Queen’s Hall. The Festival will also be setting up a cool, modern jazz club at 3 Bristo Place. Brand new Festival elements this year include Cross the Tracks, a fresh strand that throws the spotlight on contemporary, underground music influenced by jazz. Participating artists include Hidden Orchestra, Submotion Orchestra and Ghostpoet. Plus the Tron Kirk will transform into a new ‘Festival hub’ - a club that will open at 10am and run through to late evening with a grand array of performers from contemporary jazz via Edinburgh heroes to vintage jazz. The Edinburgh Jazz Festival Orchestra presents the inspirational Sacred Concert by Duke Ellington. EDINBURGH FESTIVAL CARNIVAL: Princes Street and Princes Street Gardens will be alive with the sounds of street music, colourful costumes, circus and street theatre and dance from 2-4pm on Sunday 21 July – with free admission for all. Over 35 acts, with a total of over 400 performers, from the West Indies (Martinique and Trinidad and Tobago); the South Indian Ocean (Réunion); China; all across Europe (Hungary, France, Italy, Holland, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain); and from Scotland and the rest of the UK will come together to create a vibrant international Carnival party. Ally McErlaine has had a guitar in his hand for most of his adult life and joined Texas when he was just 17 years old. He has been touring with them since 1988, selling over 15 million albums worldwide in the process. Ally and Shelly married in 2001. Shelly Poole was one half of the million-selling duo Alisha’s Attic and the daughter of famed ‘60s artist Brian Poole (The Tremolos). Since the band’s split in 2003 Shelly has gone on to become a successful songwriter for other artists, as well as releasing a solo album ‘Hard Time For The Dreamer.’ Charity Hair hails from the small town of Plant City in Florida, scouted by a modeling agency at the age of 18, Charity soon moved to London and ended up forming The Alice Band.
