Patron Saint of Germany and Brewers
Boniface, known as the apostle of the Germans, was
an English Benedictine monk who gave up being
elected abbot to devote his life to the conversion of
the Germanic tribes. Two characteristics stand out:
his Christian orthodoxy and his fidelity to the pope
of Rome. During a final mission to the Frisians, he
and 53 companions were massacred while he was
preparing converts for Confirmation.

Eager to “Give Something Back?” Join the Ignatian Volunteer Corps
The Ignatian Volunteer Corps is currently accepting applications for women and men age 50 and over. Volunteers for the Jesuit-sponsored program have the opportunity to serve the needs of people who are poor, to work for a more just society, and to grow deeper in Christian faith by reflecting and praying in the Ignatian tradition. Volunteers serve two days a week, and meet monthly with a Spiritual Reflector and other IVC members. Lunch and Discussion
Building Our Parish Community
Sunday June 28, 12:30 p.m.
Join us for lunch and discussion. At our last dinner we had a lively and very engaging discussion about What makes Saint Peter Parish Saint Peter Parish?
Everyone attending wanted to continue with the topic of our parish identity as we prepare to enter into collaboration with St. John the Evangelist Parish in a year or so. This time, we will consider not only our parish identity, but how we can best use our community’s faith, talents, resources, and mission to build up our parish. What do you think? Come and let us know! Please call or email Bob Flaherty to let us know you are attending: 617-547-4235 x16 or [email protected]
Bereavement Support Group Mount Auburn Hospital Cambridge MA
Begins June 8
The group run for eight Monday evenings 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and meets in the Clough Conference room, located on the second floor next to the cafeteria.
Session closes after the second week. An education component is interwoven into discussions for each night.
For more information contact Beth Loomis, Director of Pastoral Care at 617-575-8606 or [email protected].
New Offering: St Peter Book Club
We have received quite a few inquiries over the last year of the possibility of starting a book club at St. Peter’s. This will be a drop-in group that will meet regularly to discuss a Catholic/Christian/Spiritual title. It will be laid back in its approach. If a title interests you and you can attend the meeting, please join us. It’s that simple!
The titles and dates for the summer are:
Thursday June 25 at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center to discuss Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of
Boundless Compassion by Gregory Boyle
Thursday August 13 at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center to discuss The Return of the Prodigal Son: A
Story of Homecoming by Henri J.M. Nouwen.
If you have any questions please contact Anna Molettieri [email protected] or 617-547-4235 x17.
