From October 7th to 11th, UBIFF will present an exclusive program of the best of the best from the international scene, including award-winners from Cannes, Berlin and Toronto International Film Festivals and nine other critically acclaimed films from, among other places, China, Columbia, France, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, and Turkey. As a result of the huge public success of the previous six annual festivals, the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science is happy to be working with the Arts Council of Mongolia, Embassy of France and Mongolian Film Council to continue to introduce local audiences to a range of the most recent and cinematically daring, uncompromising and powerful filmmaking from around the globe. This year we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Mongolian film industry and 50th anniversary of Mongolian- French diplomatic relations. So naturally France has been chosen as the festival focus country. UBIFF, in collaboration with the French embassy in Ulaanbaatar, will showcase three prominent French films. Apart from film screenings, the film festival will also give local audiences the chance to meet international filmmakers and producers. At the same time the film forum connected with UBIFF will present locale filmmakers with networking and sharing opportunities through meetings with international film industry professionals. UBIFF will commence on October 7th with the premiere/screening of a Mongolian film, and other Mongolian films will be screened on Friday, October 9th. It is the hope of the Ministry and its collaborators that locale audiences will once again seize this opportunity to engage with, enjoy and celebrate the world of cinema in their own city. This year the UBIFF organizers have again teamed up with French film festival curator Thibaut Bracq to bring the best program possible to Ulaanbaatar. Welcome you to the 7th edition of UBIFF! The 7th Ulaanbaatar International Film Festival (UBIFF) will bring the wonderful world of art cinema to the Mongolian capitol.

From October 7th to 11th, UBIFF will present an exclusive program of the best of the best from the international scene, including awardwinners from Cannes, Berlin and Toronto International Film Festivals and nine other critically acclaimed films from, among other places,

China, Columbia, France, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, and Turkey.

As a result of the huge public success of the previous six annual festivals, the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science is happy to be working with the Arts Council of Mongolia, Embassy of France and Mongolian Film Council to continue to introduce local audiences to a range of the most recent and cinematically daring, uncompromising and

powerful filmmaking from around the globe. This year we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Mongolian film industry and 50th anniversary of MongolianFrench diplomatic relations. So naturally France has been chosen as the festival focus country. UBIFF, in collaboration with the French embassy in Ulaanbaatar, will showcase three prominent French films. Apart from film screenings, the film festival will

also give local audiences the chance to meet international filmmakers and producers. At the same time the film forum connected with UBIFF will present locale filmmakers with networking and sharing opportunities through meetings with international film industry professionals. UBIFF will commence on October 7th with the premiere/screening of a Mongolian film, and other Mongolian films will be screened on Friday, October

9th.
