EPA Lead Renovation, Repair & PaintingRenovation, Repair & Painting (RRP)
On April 22, 2010, federal law requires that contractors performingrenovations, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint homes, childcare facilities and schools built before 1978 must be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. The Lead RRP rule comes into effect anytime 6 square feet of a painted surface will be disturbed of interior surface or 20 square feet of exterior surface. This ruling can affect painters, plumbers, carpenters, electricians or general contractors who are paid to perform work that disturbs paint. Are you compliant? Lumbery Yard News:What's happening around M&M Lumber?We have finished up our concrete repair in the south yard. It was a big undertaking, but great improvements!
The railroad did some repairs to the railroad crossing on 47th street, and it is now completed.
Bill Beshears, one of our top lifts, turned the big 5-0! Happy Birthday Bill!

Market ReportCurrent Market: What at difference a month makes in the lumber industry. There is no secret that the demand throughout the U.S. is in a slump. We have heard of lumber yards on the East Coast who have not taken a framing pack order in all of March; however the permits for construction here in Tulsa are at levels equal to last year thus far. The bottom line of our current industry as a whole is that we are still healing at a rate that is not enough to create new growth that can absorb the current lumber supply. At first this may seem good for lower prices, however it also creates uncertainty which can lead to erratic behavior and price fluctuation. Read more...
Community Focus:The Little Light HouseThe Little Light House is a Tulsa school for children, from birth to the chronological age of six, with a wide range of physically and mentally challenging conditions. The Little Light House serves families of children with special needs such as autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and many others in a unique program that offers special education and therapy services.The Little Light House is having their annual fundraiser "Garden Party" April 30th at 9:30am at the Tulsa Renaissance Hotel.
