Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union
1 July 2011 – 31 December 2011 The logo represents the dynamics, positive energy and solidarity. Poland is presented as modern and young country that initiates positive changes in Europe. Jerzy Janiszewski is the author of the Presidency logo. He is also the author of the world-famous Solidarity logo that has become a historical symbol of the Polish Road to freedom and democratic changes in his part of the world.

Cuisine PL Polish Presidency is a great opportunity to promote Polish cuisine. One of the most appreciated chefs of Polish cuisine, Adam Chrząstowski, supervises the creation of delicious menu with polish plates, on the basis of local products, for the top-level meetings in Poland and Brussels.
Forming delegates and journalists visiting Poland during the Presidency will receive a compilation of Polish cuisine, arranged in a modern way by 16 chefs, including thee foreigners, working for the best Polish restaurants. The starting point for each recipe is a product commonly connected with Polish cuisine (e.g. herring, cucumber, buckwheat, poppy seed or game). An understandable for foreigners description of the product is before each recipe, along with its cultural context. The publications are accompanied with modern illustrations.
