Paraphrasing (Writing in your own words)

NaCl is an ionic substance made up of the ions Na+ and Cl- (ChemAttack).

Direct Quote (Writing in an author’s words)

“The most ubiquitous ionic compound in the world is common table salt” (ChemE).

In case you quote more than 3 lines

This would represent your regular text where you

introduce the quote in double spacing:

For the Works Cited page

1. You start it on the next blank page.

2. Web pages would be written in this format:

Last name, First name. Web site name. Publication date. Name of organization or company. Date you accessed page. <http://www... >

For the Works Cited page

If you don’t have an author, the first thing you write would just be the web site name.

Your in-text citation and works cited should match.

Ex.

(Jones) and Jones, Bob.

(Molecules) and Molecules with silly or unusual names.

Independent work

As you are writing, make in-text citations so you know where you got your information from.

Due at the end of class: At least 3 Sources and 1 Paragraph
