What is Instagram?

• Originally an iPhone app launched October 2010• A social network where people share, like and comment on

photos• Photos can be linked/shared on Facebook, twitter and

email• Photos are taken on an iPhone or Android and edited with

filters and blured to make them look professional• These photos are used for personal sharing and company

advertising• Bought by Facebook for $1 billion in April 2012 but will

remain independently managed
