1 Milwaukee Theatre MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Greetings! Welcome to The Milwaukee Theatre, and to Riverdance, the next presentation in our 2010-11 season of Broadway shows and concerts, and our first of 2011. This is the show’s Farewell Tour, and it is a privilege to be presenting the tour in Milwaukee. This enduring celebration of Irish dance was so successful in its 1999 Milwaukee premier at the historic Milwaukee Auditorium that it inspired us to remodel the building we now call the Milwaukee Theatre. When capacity crowds filled the venue for all 20 performances, it was clear that a mid-sized facility like the Auditorium still had a vital role in our community, and it soon became clear that we had the capability to continue filling that role. Since then, we are grateful that so many people like you have embraced the Milwaukee Theatre, just as Milwaukeeans have continued to embrace Riverdance each time it has returned. Going forward, the remainder of our 2010-11 season of Broadway shows includes the fairy tale-inspired family classic Disney’s Beauty And The Beast (April 15-17), and finally, the Wisconsin premier of Rock of Ages, starring Constantine Maroulis (April 29-May 1), a hilarious, hard-rocking tribute to 1980s “hair metal” and the rock & roll lifestyle. We also have a growing calendar of independent presentations in the Milwaukee Theatre this season, including Mike Epps & Friends with Special Guest Sheryl Underwood (March 12), the Disney family show Imagination Movers (March 18), Yanni (March 24), Salt n Pepa’s Legends of Hip Hop (April 9), and Celtic Woman (April 27). Next door in the U.S. Cellular Arena, we host Disney on Ice presents Mickey & Minnie’s Magical Journey (February 10-13), the annual Milwaukee Blues Festival (February 18), the Tripoli Shrine Circus (February 23-27), and the remaining 2010-11 home-season games of the UW-M Panthers Milwaukee Wave, and Brewcity Bruisers. New bookings are confirmed regularly, so visit www.wcd.org any time to check the calendar, and sign up for event updates to get timely email announcements and special offers for upcoming shows. Thank you for joining us today, and best wishes for a prosperous and joyful 2011. We hope you will have a wonderful experience here, and return for many more shows at The Milwaukee Theatre! MESSAGE FROM THE PRES IDENT

Greetings!

Welcome to The Milwaukee Theatre, and to Riverdance, the next presentation in our 2010-11 season of Broadway shows and concerts, and our first of 2011. This is the show’s Farewell Tour, and it is a privilege to be presenting the tour in Milwaukee.

This enduring celebration of Irish dance was so successful in its 1999 Milwaukee premier at the historic Milwaukee

Auditorium that it inspired us to remodel the building we now call the Milwaukee Theatre.

Sincerely,

The Riverdance Irish Dance TroupeMany of the Riverdance Irish Dance Troupe are World Champion Irish Danc-ers. The troupe hails mostly from Ireland, but also from Great Britain, the United States, and Australia. Between them, the dancers can boast of literally hundreds of championships won in Ireland and abroad. Most started dancing at three or four years of age at local dance schools and progressed to World Championship level before being chosen to perform in Riverdance. The dancers would have known and competed against each other at various competitions, including the World Championships. Riverdance has given them the opportunity to perform together for the first time in a non-com-petitive way. The grace and eloquence of their soft-shoe dance, the power and pre-cision of their hard shoe routines clearly display the endless hours of practice and their dedication to the art of Irish Dance.

Caterina Coyne (Lead Dancer) was born in London and started dancing at age four. After moving to Ireland, she was consistently ranked in the top 10 at the World and All Ireland Cham-pionships with the Costello O’Brien School of Dancing. Highlights of Caterina’s career include dancing for 90,000 people for both the All Ireland Hurling and Football Championships Finals in Croke Park, Dublin, and at the Opening Ceremony of the Ryder Cup. Caterina has traveled with Riverdance in Europe and America and is delighted to be dancing lead in the show.

Alana Mallon (Lead Dancer), the only Scottish dancer ever to perform lead in Riverdance, started dancing at age three, and within a few months had already won her first champion-ship. She progressed to win various competitions throughout the UK and Ireland, consistently ranking in the top three at the All Scotland and British Nationals and the top ten at the World Championships. Alana has toured with Riverdance all over the world with her most memorable performances in the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, The Kremlin, Moscow and on the Great Wall of China.

Chloey Turner (Lead Dancer) was born in England and started Irish dancing at eight years old. Her competitive career with Jenny Flower (Matthews Academy) has seen her compete at national and international feiseanna and qualifying for the World Champion-ships. Chloey joined Riverdance in 2008, touring Europe, Japan and China. Her personal highlight was dancing with Riverdance in Radio City Music Hall, NYC.

Craig Ashurst (Lead Dancer) started his competitive dancing career at age five in Melbourne, Australia. By the age of seventeen, he had won nine State and ten national titles and went on to win many major titles including the British Nationals, North American Nationals and All Ireland Championships. After placing second at the World Championships three times with the Doherty Academy, Craig started performing professionally. He has toured Asia, North America and Europe with Riverdance and is de-lighted now to perform the lead role.

Joe Moriarty (Lead Dancer) was born in Columbus, Ohio. Encouraged by his uncle, Edward, he took up Irish dancing aged eight, joining the Richens-Timms Academy of Irish Dance. Within a couple of years he was winning titles at the US Regional and National Irish Dancing Championships. Before joining River-dance in 1997, Joe had progressed to competing at World Championship level on three separate occasions. On his third appearance at the World Champion-ships he was ranked in the top five. Joe is the second North American dancer to dance the lead role in Riverdance.

Alan Scariff (Lead Dancer) started dancing for his cousin Mairead O’Flaherty in Galway, Ireland when he was four years old. Since then, Alan has enjoyed huge success in his competitive years obtaining first place at the World Irish Dancing Championships. Leav-ing the world of competition behind, he has traveled extensively with other Irish dance shows and is delighted to be performing with Riverdance.

The Riverdance Singers The haunting, beautiful voices of the Riverdance Singers are closely inter-woven with all the other elements of the show, their harmonies and solo passages bringing echoes of an ancient mysticism. The singers come from many backgrounds but all have one thing in common—a love of Irish music and an urge to bring it to a world audience in the wonderful new guise showcased in this unique production.
