Page 2: MITOSIS

Definition

• Mitosis= cell division in which the nucleus divides into nuclei containing the same number of chromosomes of sprit chromosomes .

Page 3: MITOSIS

Mitosis

• It is called prophase

• The chromatin begins to form it self in to the defiant shapes.

• The nucleus begins to be absorbed in to the middle.

• The nucleolus begins to disappear .

Page 4: MITOSIS

Nucleus

• The nucleus surrounds the cell and gets absorbed in to the cell when it is in prophase .

• The nucleus helps protect the cell form getting damage .

Page 5: MITOSIS

Nucleus

• The nucleus also has another job and that is to let in things that are needed like ATP.

• The nucleus also has to protect form invaders like colds and other viruses

Page 6: MITOSIS

Chromosomes

• A chromosome is an organized structure of DNA and protein that is found in cells. A chromosome is a singular piece of DNA.

Page 7: MITOSIS

Chromosomes

• Chromosomes have four DNA strips when taken a part

• When prophase occurs the spindle fibers will pull the chromosomes a part equally .

Page 8: MITOSIS

Cell membrane

• The cell membrane consists primarily of a thin layer of amphipathic phospholipids

Page 9: MITOSIS

Other facts

• Spindle fibers are used to separate the chromosomes equally on each side of th cell.

Page 10: MITOSIS

Cancer

• Cancer has to do with the reproduction of the same cell and if there is a problem with one cell the body will destroy it.

• If there is two many the body cant keep up with the reproduction of the bad cells so that causes a tumor a can lead to cancer
