LAST TIMe OUT: The Mobile BayBears plated two runs in the first two innings to defeat the Mississippi Braves 2-0 in front of 7,051 fans that filed through the gates for an early Independence Day celebraon at Trustmark Park Wednesday night. The crowd of 7,051 is the largest of the season for a M-Braves game at Trustmark Park and is the seventh-largest regular season crowd in Mississippi Braves history. ender Inciarte led Mobile with a perfect 4-for-4 night at the plate including a double and one RBI. The BayBears held Mississippi (5-10, 43-42) to just four hits on the night. Mobile (10-5, 49-35) scored its two runs on nine hits. The Braves commied one error. Mobile took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Nick Ahmed and Dusn Marn delivered back-to-back doubles. Mike Freeman reached on an error by the second baseman, Tommy La Stella, to start the BayBears’ second. Ryan Court walked and Inciarte followed with a RBI-single to center field, extending Mobile’s lead to 2-0. David Holmberg (5-4) limited the Braves to just three hits and three walks in seven innings of work. He struck out six baers on the night. Jake Barre (S, 2) recorded the final four outs to notch his second save. Aaron Northcraſt (3-7) worked five innings for the M-Braves and took the loss. He gave up two runs, one earned run, on seven hits and two walks while striking out two baers. ALL-STARS: Six M-Braves were selected to parcipate in the 2013 Southern League All- Star Game Wednesday, July 17 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Four posion players were selected to represent the Braves including C Chrisan Bethancourt, OF Jose Marnez, INF Jaime Pedroza and 3B edward Salcedo. RHP Gus Schlosser and RHP Mark Lamm were the only members of the M-Braves pitching staff selected. FUTUReS GAMe: Catcher Chrisan Bethancourt was selected to the 15th annual Siri- usXM All-Star Futures Game World Roster for the second-consecuve season. The annual event, which takes place on July 14, features the top minor league prospects as part of Taco Bell All-Star Sunday. Bethancourt will join former M-Braves infielder Joey Terdoslavich who’s represenng the Braves on the U.S. Roster. The game will be televised live on eSPN2, eSPN2 HD and MLB.com SOLID DeFeNSe: The M-Braves strung together a five-game streak without commit- ng an error (6/22-26), tying the M-Braves longest streak of five games which last occurred June 19-23, 2009. The M-Braves went 60 consecuve innings without an error breaking the longest streak in franchise history when the M-Braves went 58.1 innings in 2008 (5/28-6/4). QUALITY STARS: RHP Gus Schlosser has turned in quality starts in 11 of his 16 starts this season and all 11 have come in his past 13 starts for the M-Braves. Schlosser picked up wins in his first five quality starts (4/23-5/15). Mississippi has lost three of those games but went on to win the other three quality starts.
