LAST TIME OUT: The Braves blew a save in the ninth, but Mallex Smith drove in the winning run in the top of the tenth inning for a 3-2 victory over the Wahoos on Sunday afternoon. Leading 2-0 going into the 9th, Andrew Robinson came in for the second straight game, allowing a Juan Silva RBI single and a Marquez Smith game-tying sac fly to make it 2-2. Tyrell Jenkins hurled seven shutout innings on just three hits and took a no decision. Tyler Jones nailed down the save by striking out the side in the 10th. FIRST-HALF RACE: With six wins in their last seven games, the M-Braves have pulled to a 1/2-game behind the Biloxi Shuckers in second place in the South Division, just past the halfway point of the first half. It’s the first time they’ve been as close as a 1/2-game back and four games above .500 (20-16) since 4/24, when they were 9-5 and tied for first. LAST TIME OUT: The Braves blew a save in the ninth, but Mallex Smith drove in the winning run in the top of the tenth inning for a 3-2 victory over the Wahoos on Sunday afternoon.
