Mission Experience News June 2020 Two weeks ago, Pastor Christian from Wisconsin asked me how this pandemic will change our ministry. My first thought was, that I was not sure that it would change it at all. Over the last few weeks, I have had numerous conversations contemplating this issue. Here is what we as a ministry have discovered. First, our commitment to our kids, staff and vision has not changed. There have always been significant challenges ministering in this emerging country, but we will not abandon the work God has committed to us. Last year, demonstrations caused us to postpone some trips and this year the virus has only allowed us two trips. In the future short-term mission trips will continue to be a part of our ministry. However, we have had to adapt to our new reality. For instance, the financial challenges we shared in the last newsletter. We are now moving toward a different financial model. Right now, we have the goal of raising $3,000 a month in new (additional) pledges and $24,000 to help us cover the short fall in our bills expected in the next few months. Thus far, we have just scratched the surface of adding new monthly donors. You can see the chart below. We really need your help. If you can give $15, $30 or $50 per month to help us that would be great. Please pray about this and let us know. It would simply be making coffee at home two or three times a month instead of going out. One gift of $30 dollars a month pays for one entire meal for all twenty-five of our kids. Also, you can see in the chart how we have progressed with one-time gifts that help us right now to make a difference. Thank you to all of our donors. There are other changes in our ministry. In the past, every month we returned with the previous month’s receipts and bills. Since Haiti has no mail service we have had to adapt. James is now having to take pictures and send them to Leslie. This has created unique challenges. Pray for them both. Also, our new model of ministry will continue with internet meetings going into the future. We have been able to have regular staff meetings with the staff in Haiti and America every other week. Secondly, every Friday Ellie and Kathy have a Bible class with the kids. Lastly, our every other Monday (Next one is June 29th) prayer meeting with the missionaries and children has allowed more contact with them. This has been a blessing to the children as they are always asking about the missionaries and their families. Thanks, you all for taking this journey with us. God is Good and as always will provide. June 2020

It’s Back to School Time!!!

Would you, your office, your church, Bible Study Group, Sundayschool… consider sponsoring one or more kids to attend school this year?

The cost for one child to attend school for one year is $252.00 per student! (This includes Enrollment fee, Uniforms, Books and Tuition.)

Two weeks ago, Pastor Christian from Wisconsin asked me how this pandemic will change our ministry.

Loving them from afar... Many of us are probably feeling the same way as the effects of Covid stretch on. We miss our kids. Well I'm here to tell you that they are doing well... I've seen it. The kids and I have a Zoom talk about every other week, and Kathy Ortiz and I take turns teaching them a lesson. It's not quite the same as being there, but seeing their little faces and letting them see that we are still here and loving them is a huge blessing.

This last video chat was about the feeding of the 5,000 in John 6 and how we can follow after Jesus like the crowd did, as well as offer all that we have to Jesus to use like the little boy did. We did a weaving craft that highlighted our focus verse of 1 Timothy 4:12, and for not being there in front of them, the kids did GREAT!

Please keep them and us in your prayers as we seek wisdom on what and how to continue to give them God's word. If you're interested in doing a lesson we'd love to know! Otherwise you can both see and hear them on our Monday Night Prayer Zoom meetings. If you would like information on how to join, please contact Leslie.

Peace in Jesus,

Ellie

Metelson is a fun young man with a big smile and a heart for making people proud of his accomplishments. He soaks up all the affirmation and encouragement teams can give him!

He lives at God's Garden with his older brother Jamesly and younger sister Judeline.

We have seen him enjoy playing board games, ride scooters, and color.

We are thankful for the joy he brings to our GG family and can't wait to see how God grows his heart and mind and all the dreams they hold.

His favorite things and aspirations: Bible verse - Psalm 100, Color - blue, Subject - Math, for fun - he likes to sleep! (What can we expect for a busy growing boy?!) When he grows up, he would like to be a mechanic,
