CAES is a fab-independent semiconductor supplier and our team of mixed-signal engineering experts has more than 150 man-years of IC design experience in the commercial electronics market delivering a range of RF and microwave components, modules and subsystems, as well as analog, mixed-signal IC and ASIC design services. For more than 40 years, CAES has provided antennas, RF and microwave components and subsystems for a variety of advanced Radar applications. A broad portfolio of intelligent, adaptable solutions across a wide frequency range ensures a proper technical fit for every mission. From high-frequency through millimeter wave, operating across the land, sea, air and space domains, our products and services can address any Radar

need, from air traffic control, to synthetic aperture Radar, fire control, and space situational awareness. CAES also supports early warning Radar using Ka-Band and W-Band frequencies, incorporating our broad technology portfolio and an integrated aperture-to-data architecture.

CAES has 60+ years of missile and guided projectile design and has shipped more than 250,000 critical subsystems across dozens of missile platforms. CAES advanced munitions technology supports complex weapon guidance, navigation, control, target detection/fuzing and actuation in the harshest of environments, from ballistic high-shock (>100,000g) to space-based, radiation-hardened (RadHard) subsystems.

Fusing Electronic Warfare (EW) products with today’s advanced technology and decades of engineering, production, and sustainment experience, CAES customers are able to outpace their adversaries using the electromagnetic spectrum and directed energy. Additive Manufacturing

CAES has a unique capability in 3D printing-based Additive Manufacturing (AM) for the Aerospace and Defense industry. High Frequency

CAES is an industry leader in custom and off-the-shelf designs for RF, microwave and mmW bands for the radar, missile, space and communications markets as well as solutions for the electronic warfare market. CAES meets exacting requirements for both benign and harsh environments. Our frequency expertise covers the low 100-MHz range to W-Band.

Manufacturing Solutions CAES provides high-performance RF and electronic manufacturing for mission-critical Aerospace and Defense applications. Our capabilities include solder, assembly, thin film substrates and metal fab; automated processes such as pick-and-place, wire bonding and optical inspection; environmental screening; plating and etch; paint; laser seal and design-for-manufacturing.

CAES manufacturing facilities offer anechoic chambers, wedge wire bonding, conformal coating and clean room operations. Certifications include MIL-PRF-38534, IPC and NASA, Nadcap for plating and DMEA Trusted Accreditation.

Automated Assembly

CAES offers a full array of electronic and RF design and assembly manufacturing services. Our factories are capable of manufacturing complex microwave and mmW assemblies and produce nearly 10,000 modules each month. Cost is reduced do to the high level of automation in our assembly processes.

Advanced Microelectronics Packaging, Test, and Modeling

CAES offers advanced microelectronics packaging, modeling and testing solutions for third-party ASICs and commercially-sourced die. CAES supports a large range of services from rapid, small-batch prototyping for

validation and characterization to full-volume production in our DMEA-accredited facility. We provide support for low-volume prototyping and flight quantities to high-volume manufacturing of more than 100,000 units per month.

Build to Print/Build to Spec

Accredited by the U.S. Department of Defense as a Trusted Source and a Category 1A supplier of assembly services, CAES offers build-to-print and build-to-specification services such as high-volume automated circuit card assembly, COTS and commercial up-screening for high-reliability applications, packaging, and qualified assembly and test services meeting the requirements of MIL-PRF-38534 Class H and K.

Electronic Manufacturing Solutions (EMS)

CAES has a broad range of EMS offerings that support standard product designs and custom microelectronic solutions serving military, aerospace, medical and industrial markets. Complete turnkey solutions including environmental and radiation testing and failure analysis, device screening, packaging solutions, and rapid prototype IC assembly with full ITAR compliance.

Microwave through Millimeter Wave Solutions

CAES has extensive expertise manufacturing complex microwave and mmW solutions for electronic warfare, radar and other mission critical needs adhering to established industry and military-specified standards up to and including MIL-STD-883.

CAES capabilities include thin-film substrate and package

manufacturing and a suite of automated services, including pick-and-place, wire bonding, optical inspection, hermetic sealing, environmental screening, painting and electrical test over temperature.

Systems Engineering

CAES offers complete systems engineering services for the development of advanced technology applicable to missile seekers, datalinks, electronic warfare systems, and next generation radar and communications systems.

CAES provides aerospace and defense prime contractors and the government with best-in-class advanced systems engineering, and volume manufacturing expertise, combining both digital and analog functionality and thus allowing for more effective engagements earlier in the life cycle of a program.

Testing & TuningCAES offers an extensive infrastructure and support staff dedicated to expedient and accurate product testing and tuning solutions. This includes the design and implementation of automated test equipment, environmental and dynamics testing, TID radiation testing, high power testing (featuring radiated testing) and antenna radiation pattern and gain measurements.

CAES capabilities include hundreds of automated RF SMART™ test stations in addition to automation software and processes that minimize test time and maximize first-pass yield.

Environmental and Dynamics Testing

CAES offers comprehensive test laboratory services, including environmental, dynamic and vibration testing and analysis, that address commercial, military and aerospace requirements for applications including engineering design verification, environmental stress screening, reliability verification and qualification testing.

High Power Test Solutions

CAES engineers are experts in the design and implementation of cooling techniques for high-density, tightly-packaged electronic assemblies. CAES couples this capability with specialized test equipment, including high-gamma, load-pull resources, and unique, high-radiated-power, ferrite-lined environmental test chambers.

Antenna Test Ranges

With both indoor anechoic chambers and outdoor pattern test ranges, all of which provide real-time, digitally-captured data, CAES quickly and accurately characterizes all aspects of antenna performance from high frequency through W-Band. Our suite of anechoic chambers provides broad capabilities for far-field radiation pattern and radar cross-section (RCS) measurements, near-field scanning and high-power testing.

Rotary Joints

Waveguides

CAES waveguides are used widely in space, defense, avionics, industrial, scientific and medical applications. CAES offers a full range of rectangular (WR-22 to WR430) and double-ridge (WRD-180 to WR430) waveguides covering frequency bands from a few hundred MHz to 100 GHz and designed to comply with stringent ISO9001:2008 and AS9100 standards. CAES waveguide assemblies are custom built to specific requirements and can be manufactured from a broad range of materials such as aluminum, copper or brass.

CAES also has the capacity to create a customized integrated assembly of passive and active microwave waveguide and coaxial components as well as custom bracketry and integrated waveguides from cast to 3D printed to hybrid.
