are unlocked just before bell time for parents to access the pick-up area.

Some wonderful news…
As you are aware, our school has been undertaking learning about the 4Cs-collaboration,
creativity, communication and critical reflection over the last few years. These are the
capabilities that research shows are essential for learning and contributing to our modern world.
We engage in the learning together with Caringbah North and Jannali Public Schools. Just last
week, we were recognised as finalists in the Australian Education Awards, 2020 in the category
of Best Professional Learning Program. We are really proud to have our learning recognised in
this way.
Coding Camps offered by ScopeIT
The dates for the coding camps offered by ScopeIT to utilise the creative Kids Voucher will be
confirmed once the COVID restrictions allow Scope IT to book venues. Thank you to parents and
carers for their patience in booking the camps. As soon as we are aware of the dates, that
information will be passed to parents and you will be able to book directly with the ScopeIT.
Band learning continues online
Joan and her team are doing a fabulous job continuing the band
tuition in a remote environment. Students are undertaking their tuition
with focus and enthusiasm and we are proud of their perseverance
and grit. If you would like to continue your band tuition online for the
duration of the remote period for extra curricula activities, please
contact Joan for details. We can’t wait to hear the band when it finally
comes back together…it will be a performance worth waiting for!
3/4S conducted a "water, salt and ice" experiment in science last week where they had to develop a
hypothesis, test it and record their results. They were curious about what would happen when they
placed a layer of salt over the string, which was sitting on an ice-cube. Here they are, sharing their
own hypothesis and results with the class, after recording their findings. Great inquiry learning, 3/4S!
How do you improve your focus and concentration? Just ask Mrs Jeffery and 3J! They practise by
playing a game where they have two egg maracas which they toss randomly to each other as they
call a name. They have to keep alert and focused as the maracas arrive from any direction! Love
your focus, 3J!
4/5J have been collaborating to design and make
a board game by deciding upon the rules of play
and the layout. Here they are, part way through
their creative challenge. Love your creativity 4/5J!
Great things happening recently….student learning around our school…take a look!
