Memorial Day Monday, May 25, 2015– 10:00 am Karen Connors Location: Orange County Court House f. July 4 th at Lake Eola – City reserves Veterans Council Members Doug Richards seating in front of Lake Eola Bandshell and Mayor Buddy Dyer invites us up to do the countdown of the fireworks. Free parking and will be able to go behind the bandshell to view the fireworks. This Railed balcony is the best seat in the house. g. National POW/MIA Recognition Day – September 18, 2015 – Michael T. Waldrop 10:00 am City Hall Rotunda – Discussed having boys choir again.

 h.      City  of  Orlando  Veteran’s  Parade,  Saturday,       Andrew  Ewasko                  November  14,  2015  –  Next  parade  meeting  is  April  9,  2015  –     Blue  Cord  Office  –  10:30  am  –  www.saveorlando.net/veterans     to  sign  up  –  Channel  13  back  on  board  to  broadcast        

V.    CHAIRMAN’S  REPORT               Michael  T.  Waldrop  a.        Discussed  TSA  Precheck    b.   Announced  Honorary  Members:    Paul  Hay,  Hank  Malenofski,       Jerry  Robinson  and  Earl  Denton  –  Getting  a  plaque  made  to       Put  in  Conference  Room          c.   Discussed  Strategic  Plan  –  Vision  –  Expressed  his  visions  that  this       be  the  best  Veterans  Advisory  Council  and  continue  to  work  together     on  upcoming  projects.    He  commented  that  we  had  a  variety  of  talent  and       we  could  surely  put  it  to  good  use.                                                                              

VI.      NEW  BUSINESS                 Michael  T.  Waldrop    a.   Announced  5  new  members:    Milan  Dinga  –  Associate;       Dee  Espeut-­‐Jones-­‐  Councilmember;  Wilfredo  Lopez  –  Associate;     Tommie  Maldonado,  Councilmember;  and  Jaime  Quarnoccio,       Councilmember                    

VIII.      ANNOUNCEMENTS                a.   Ellouise  Hall,  Curator/Historian  –  Made  an  announcement  about  blue  shirt     orders.                        b.      Heather  Frebe  from  Orlando  VA  Medical  Center,  Public  Relations  is  waiting  to       hear  from  Secretary  of  Veterans  Affairs  –  Robert  A.  McDonald  to  schedule       the  dedication.                  c.        Tommie  Maldonado  said  that  the  department  offices  have  changed  regulations                              on  “how  to  file  a  claim”.                  d.        Arthur  Jarvis  –  Raf  Club  –  Mentors  high  school  students.                  e.        Mike  Gentz  –  SeeBee  Vets  reported  on  upcoming  “Honor  Flights”  and  a  Virtual                              Honor  Flight  was  given  at  the  Villages  for  those  due  to  medical  reasons  could                                Not  go  on  a  regular  flight.                      f.        Dee  Espeut-­‐Jones  is  actively  persuing  volunteers  for  the  parade  and  has  a  sign-­‐up     sheet.                  g.       Cathy  Haynes  is  our  conduit  for  communicating  via  email  for  upcoming  events       and  Veterans  activities  for  our  Veterans  information.
