OHT Data: OHT data on problem gambling cross tabulated with other riskybehaviors was completed and sent out to providers mid-February. Group

reviewed the data and remarked that the data showed opposite of the usualoutcomes and thought that maybe the numbers or columns got switched.

Greta confirmed this is accurate with Rusha at AMH, Health Analytics unitand they are correcting the tables. New tables will be sent out in the near

    future.

Legislative Updates: HB4028b, which would have provided funds to AMHto provide advertisement/promotion to bring awareness to treatment wasamended the first week of the session to allow the lottery to spend theiradministrative money to once again provide the advertisements, etc. The

HB passed in the House and Senate and is on its way to the governor forsignature. The Lottery will start a new trigger campaign on 3/14 which

brings up an ad for helpline when a person web searches for particularwords, such a bankruptcy, husband has problem gambling, etc. The women

powder room ads will begin running in the very near future. HB 4040,

document was sent to providers on 3/10. Some coordinators on the call

Winds Hotel (next to the casino). Dates are May 20-23 in Lincoln City.

This meeting is co-hosted by Siletz Tribe and AMH. This summit is an

integration of the prevention summit and 9 tribes quarterly meeting and willbe for prevention coordinators and an array of tribal professionals. Planning

committee, which Jennifer is a part of, continues to draft the agenda andshould be complete by the end of March. Tuesday will a Drug Free

Community meeting/training. Other presentations include cultural trauma,

history of tribes and gaming, organization structure of tribes and how to

partner and more. Evening activities are being arranged, such as tribaldancing and sweat lodge ceremonies. Stay tuned, as more information iscoming.

Reward and Reminder: An email was sent out in February regarding

Reward and Reminder type activities that integrate lottery products withinthis type of alcohol and tobacco type project. It was brought to AMHs

attention, thanks to Jeff Ruscoe, that activities where minors are attempting

to purchase an illegal product (due to age) are not legal unless they arespecifically addressed in the Oregon Revised Statutes, otherwise the

underage youth would be breaking the law. Prevention Coordinators havebeen asked to not participate in these types of activities with underage youth.

One option to continue this is to use youth over the age of 18 or focus

activities on advertisements instead of sales. In order to continue Reward

and Reminder type activities, the ORS would need to be revised, as it has foralcohol and tobacco. This could be a project for coordinators or advocacy

groups to take on for the 2015 legislative session.
