RECAP: The LumberKings allowed a run in the bottom of the 9th inning to tie the game 1-1 and another run on a sacrifice fly with 1 out in 13th as Clinton lost to Cedar Rapids 6-7 on Saturday night. 2B Nelson Ward (2x6, R, BB) and CF Luis Liberato (2x6, R, BB) each recorded 2 of the team’s 9 hits, while DH Estarlyn Morales (1x6, 2B, RBI, BB) and C Daniel Torres (1x4, R, RBI, 2 BB) recorded the LumberKings only RBI. Starter Tyler Herb (5.1,6,5,5,3,5,HR) allowed 5 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, but did not factor into the decision. It was the first combined no-hitter for Clinton since 1996, and the first in club history to feature more than 2 pitchers. Missaki (7.0,0,0,0,1,7) earned his first win of the season, allowing only 1 walk and striking out 7 in 7.0 no-hit innings. He retired 20 batters in a row, before allowing a 2-out walk to Trey Vavra in the bottom of the 7th inning.
