miniTek is an automatic streamer, sending sound from audio devices wirelessly to your hearing instruments. It is a remote control that can be used to control your hearing instruments and high tech gadgets and allows you to enjoy sound in true stereo form.

Wearing miniTek Wear miniTek no further than 60 cm (24 inches) away from the hearing instruments. Use lanyard or clip to wear miniTek.

Turning the miniTek on/off Press for about 3 seconds to turn miniTek on.All LEDs shine for 3 seconds, then only the power LED shines. Press for about 3 seconds to turn miniTek off.All LEDs shine for 3 seconds, then turn off slowly.

Turning the hearing instruments on/off Press for about 3 seconds to turn your hearing instruments off (stand-by). Press for about 3 seconds to turn the hearing instruments back on.

Changing the hearing program of your hearing instruments Press P to change the hearing program.Each time you press the program button, your hearing instruments switch to the next program.

Each program change is confirmed by an acoustic signal.

Changing the audio source (if connected)

Each time you press , your miniTek switches to the next available audio source according to the following overview:

FM transmitter (DAI)

Line-in (2.5 mm stereo socket)

First transmitter

Second transmitter (optional)

T-coil

Your Hearing Care Professional has to configure your miniTek for your audio sources.

Changing the volume

Press to increase the volume.

Press to decrease the volume. Key lock

To activate the key lock function, press and for 3 seconds.

and shine for 2 seconds.

All buttons except are locked.With activated key lock the on/off button flashes red if you press any of the locked buttons.

To deactivate the key lock function, press and for 3 seconds.

and shine for 2 seconds. The key lock function is deactivated.

Fade out ambient noises (mute) Press shortly to switch off the microphones of your hearing instruments. Press shortly to switch on again the microphones of your hearing instruments.

With this function you can fade out distracting noise from environment (e.g. while watching TV).

Bluetooth®* is a wireless standard that provides a way to connect wireless devices like cell phones, TV, headsets and others.

The Bluetooth connection has a range of about 10 m (32 ft). Walls or objects between the devices can shorten the distance.

The miniTek can be paired via Bluetooth with up to two phones, two transmitters and a further Bluetooth device (e.g. mp3 player or laptop) at the same time.

Once a bluetooth device with control panel (e.g. iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry, mp3 player, laptop) is paired with miniTek, the connection to the miniTek will be established automatically. Pairing Press for about 3 seconds to turn miniTek on. Activate the Bluetooth function in your device.

Press on your miniTek for about 5 seconds to prepare your miniTek for pairing. Search in the menu of your device for other Bluetooth devices.

Choose "RCU Connect" to pair miniTek and your device. Enter the PIN "0000" if requested.

When pairing mode has been activated, all 3 buttons (on/off button, telephone button and audio source button) shine for 3 seconds, then flashes while the miniTek is searching for a connection to an audio source. This can take several seconds. Once a connection is established, shines constantly for 3 seconds.

Refer to the user guide of your connected device for more detailed information on how to link devices via Bluetooth.

When you are making a call with a Bluetooth compatible phone or cell phone, the miniTek allows you to use your hearing instruments as a wireless headset.Instead of using the telephone microphone, you speak into miniTek and listen through your hearing instruments.

If paired with two phones, miniTek uses different ring tones to distinguish incoming calls.

Pair the Bluetooth compatible phone with your miniTek (refer to „Pairing“ in chapter „Bluetooth“).

Accepting an incoming callYour hearing instruments change automatically to the telephone program if your phone rings.

Press to accept the incoming call. Speak into miniTek's microphone to talk.

Press to terminate the call.Your hearing instruments switch back to the hearing program you used before taking the call.

Rejecting an incoming call

Press for about 3 seconds to reject the incoming call if supported by the phone.

Making a call Dial the desired number on your phone. If your phone does not transfer the connection to the miniTek automatically, press once or twice(*) to transfer the connection from your phone to the miniTek.

Press once or twice(*) to transfer the connection from the miniTek back to the phone.

(*) Test to see how your phone works with the miniTek.

Refer to the user guide of your connected device for more detailed information on how to link devices via Bluetooth.

Pair the Bluetooth compatible device (e.g. mp3 player, laptop) with your miniTek (refer to "Pairing" in chapter "Bluetooth"). Start the audio transmission on your Bluetooth compatible device.

You can now hear sound from your device through your hearing instruments via Bluetooth.

The transmitter is intended to make devices without Bluetooth-function compatible to Bluetooth. Before first useThe transmitter is equipped with a rechargeable battery. Charge the transmitter if necessary using the supplied USB-power plug.

While charging the LED shines red.Charging time is about 3 hours depending on the status of the rechargeable battery. Turning the transmitter on/off Use the on/off switch to turn the transmitter on. Use the on/off switch to turn the transmitter off.

Sound level Press the sound level button to change the volume of the audio signal.

The sound level can be adjusted in 5 levels.The LED flashes blue. The number of times the LED flashes indicates the volume level.

Connect the transmitter with the power plug to a power supply or charge it regularly. Use one of the supplied cables to connect the transmitter to an external device (refer to graphic on previous page). Press on/off switch to turn the transmitter on.The LED on the transmitter flashes blue while searching a connection to your miniTek. Use the supplied adhesive tape to affix the transmitter at a suitable place. Press for about 3 seconds to turn the miniTek on.

Press on miniTek to change to the audio source manually (refer to table “Changing the audio source” in chapter "Basic function").

Start the audio transmission on your device.You can now hear the sound from your external device through your hearing instruments.

Press P on your miniTek to stop listening to the external audio source.

Your hearing instruments switch back to the hearing program you used before.

Your Hearing Care Professional has to configure your miniTek for external devices. Refer to the user guide of your connected device for more detailed information.

You can use a second transmitter, which is available as an accessory. This way the first transmitter can always remain connected to your preferred device while the second transmitter is connected with another device (e.g. a second TV in your bedroom).

WARNING Risk of electric shock! Connect audio input only to a device conforming to IEC 60065, the IEC-Norm for audio, video and other electronic devices.

While charging do not use the stereo socket with devices that are connected to the power supply.

Press for about 3 seconds to turn miniTek on. Use the supplied cables and adapters to connect miniTek with an audio device.

Press to change to the audio program (refer to table “Changing the audio source” in chapter "Basic functions").

If you press without an audio device connected to it, miniTek will search for a connection to other audio sources.

Your miniTek is equipped with a telecoil. This is intended for using induction loops, e. g. in churches, theaters or in a lecture room. Press for about 3 seconds to turn the miniTek on.

Press to change to the loop receiver (refer to table "Changing the audio source" in chapter "Basic functions").You can now hear the sound from the loop system through your hearing instruments.

FM transmitter (DAI)Your miniTek can be connected to any standard FM receiver. This enables you to use FM systems even with hearing instruments which are not equipped with an audio shoe. FM systems help to improve speech understanding in difficult listening situations and are frequently used in schools. Press for about 3 seconds to turn the miniTek on. Turn the FM transmitter on. Connect the FM receiver with the DAI port of the miniTek.

Press once on miniTek to change to the FM transmitter.Now you can hear sound from the FM transmitter through your hearing instruments.

The hearing instruments switch automatically to the telephone program when your phone rings and change back to the FM transmitter after terminating the call.

With the miniTek Remote App you conveniently operate your miniTek right from your Android* smartphone.You can control your hearing instruments and how they interact with all of your favorite electronic devices. Whether it is watching TV, listening to your favorite song, or talking to a friend on your mobile phone - control is right at your finger tips.Because the app's interface has the same look as the miniTek, it is easy to understand.

Prerequisites for using the app ■ You must have a miniTek. Wear it as usual and

turn it on. ■ Your Android smartphone must be within Bluetooth

operating distance (about 10 m or 32 ft).

Prerequisites for download and installation ■ Your smartphone must have access to the internet. ■ You must have or create an account for the

Google Play* Store.

Download and installation Search for "miniTek" in the Google Play Store and install the app on your smartphone. To start the app, it is listed under the name "miniTek" on your smartphone.

Alternatively, if you have a QR code reader installed on your smartphone, you can scan the QR code to jump directly to the download page in the Google Play Store and start the installation.
